  1. For myself, and probably many other government employees, my salary is frozen or about to be. Recent increases to expenses caused by the HST and the steadily increasing costs of all products services in general has eroded my "fun" money. My decsion to indulge myself is dependant on having time/opportunity and the amount of uncommited funds in my jeans. (I have a budget for personal expenses) A year ago, those funds were easily in the three bills, but I have noticed lately, that the amount is quite a bit less. As a result, I choose to do an activity which costs correspondingly less. I also have no intention of seeking out those SPs which offer a budget experience because I have rarely, if ever, felt I got what I was looking for, experience wise. So, i find myself hobbying much less, actually, rarely over the last 12 months. I don't know that i am a typical client, but I am certain there are many people in a similar situation to me. Another contributing factor is that the number of ladies offering their services has increased notably over the last two years. This has to affect business as shrinking dollars are being spread among a lager number of providers.
  2. I am a spur of the moment guy. My life is not so predictable that I can plan a day ahead let alone more days. It is the nature of my profession, I am either sitting around waiting for a call, or busy solving a problem. I don't book ahead via email or pms because the likely hood of having to cancel is just too high. When things slow down, I like to call up and see who is on tap in the next hour, so to speak. Agencies tend to satisfy my requirement for this convenience. As much as I would prefer an Indy, as I have had outstanding experiences with them, trying to set something up at short notice can be difficult. Not having a number to call, or even a vague idea of where a person is located simply means I do not bother to contact them.
  3. Then they would get a thousand emails from numbskulls wanting pictures. We are such visual creatures, even to our own demise.
  4. I have lots of clones. Unfortunately I never did get the physical part of cloning down, so they are all still in my head:-P
  5. Many years ago, I had achieved the rank of Petty Officer in the Navy in a very short time (7 yrs), mostly because of my technical ability, I then languished at that rank for the next 8 years. My annual assesements were always good but never quite enough to make the next rank. My supervisors told me I was great and was just unlucky due to the competition. I wasn't until an old Chief sat me down and told me what was wrong with me. I won't go into details, but it wasn't a pleasant conversation. As long as I was a great technician, my bosses were keeping me happy by blowing smoke up my ass so I would continue to make their section look good. To sum up; I changed my attitude and ways and eventually became a Chief myself. This would never have happened without that conversation. Why do I bring this up, if one only pays attention to "recommendations", success, like my elusive promotion may never come. Those clients who say thankyou very much and leave never to be seen again may have some valuble information for you that will never be found in a positive recommendation. Even worse are those who put up a recommendation but never book again. Now, I am not advocating that this board change it's format, everyone needs to hear they are doing a good job now and again. But if that is the only input you are permitting yourself, you may be doing yourself a disservice. One should check other sources, even if only to lurk and find out what is being said. The worst case scenario is no feedback at all, good or bad. Different boards discourage honest feedback in one way or arnother, some are blatant about it, others more subtle. You may have to find more creative ways of getting honest feedback, like if you should happen on a client you haven't seen in a while, and the situation is appropriate, seek some feedback. Honest feedback is both the least pleasant and most valuble gift anyone can recieve.
  6. And the Golden Ball goes to Diego Forlan! While I am a fan of the Dutch and now in mourning as I put away my orange jersey until Euro 2012, I have to absolutely agree with the choice of Diego. He carried Uruguay to the semi-finals on his shoulders. My hat is off to the Fifa committee who made that choice as it would have been too easy to pick oone of the players from the winning team.
  7. I am finding that "No shows" are a fact of life here in the nation's capitol, and not just in this community. Tradesmen, appliance repair/installers, delivery people etc are all bad. If you can't make it, say so. I much prefer to make another arrangement than to wait in vain. Perhaps I am expecting to much, where I came from was a different problem. You couldn't get any of the above mentioned as there were shortages all around. Service suppliers would tell you outright they were to busy to accomodate you. However, if you got one to commit, not always easy, he was there with bells on.
  8. Soccer, No helmets, No sticks Just Balls! I once saw this on a t-shirt, and regret to this day, not buying it.
  9. The "best" stripper outfit I've ever seen was many years ago on the west coast, long before table/lap dances and CRs. Showers and tubs on stage was just the latest innovation. One little brunnette did her show which was good, but nothing extra ordinary although she followed it up with some play in the shower and tub which resulted in water all over the stage. Back then, girls clleaned up the stage themsleves after their acts, so she slipped on a short plain terry bathrobe which only just covered her bum, grabbed a couple of towels and proceded to wipe up the water on stage on her hands and knees. The place went silent as she diligently went about drying up the stage. Her breasts were peeking out from the loosely belted robe and when she was moving away, one got a fine look at a fantastic derriere. Needles to say, when she finished, she got a standing ovation and probably the most tips for a one show laid on the stage that I saw that evening.
  10. I think the comercial is brilliant, becasue it satirzes the comercialism and sexualization of objects so well. "I'm number one when I go number two." is brilliant.
  11. How to snatch defeat from the mouth of victory. Oh man I feel for Gyan, his countrymen will be out for the price on his his head. Two great games today, I hope tomorrow comes as close.
  12. So could have Brazil. Steklenberg's save off of Kaka is probably the "save" of the tournament so far. Had that gone in, it would have been all over for the Oranje. Now, I'm off to find a prtty little Samba dancer who might be in need of some consolation.
  13. Arjen Robben is a sly little prick isn't he, I'm just glad he's on my team. I will be the first to admit he has does make a meal out of a foul on occasion, but to be completely fair, he is so fast and his feet so quick, he earns more fouls than he he simulates. The refs are noting it too, Bastos fouled him about three more times without a card than he would have against anyone else, except maybe for Rinaldo who is also gettin a reputation. However, it doesn't matter, Oranje is through to the semi-final!:boobies:
  14. Perhaps I am guilty of a little hyperbole. But I've seen a few threads of ladies complaining about those of us who don't read their add/websites and wondered if all the unsightly pre-emptive warnings were making a difference. Dealing with people in my job all day, I know there are those who will read everything including the fine print and those who won't read any of it, bold red or not. And even some of those who read it but don't think those rules apply to "him". For me, personally, wading through all the bold red "reminders" just moves me on to the next. I wonder how many others are doing the same.
  15. WHOAH! Shields up Mr Sulu! Get us outa here Scotty. Judging by the swiftness and sting of your replies, the strategy doesn't seem to be working well, which was my point. But hey, its your add and your business decision. btw, initiating this thread is a lot like broaching the subject of sex with the wife.
  16. Lately I have noticed a trend in many of the adverts on this board and even on some websites. Warnings in bold red fonts about blocked numbers, don't ask what you can look up, do not be explicit on phone or in email, etc. I don't know how the rest of you feel, but I get the impression I'm not welcome, even though I know the rules and wouldn't knowingly transgress them. I may as well negotiate a turn in the sack with my wife and go through similar unpleasantness. The sad fact is, that in spite of those warnings and nags, the clients who trangess aren't paying attention anyway or are too fricken thick to think it applies to them. Those of us who know the drill are just seeing little "red flags" and the author comes across as "bitchy" although I am sure that is not their intention. OK, I'll step down and slink back into the shadows now.
  17. I reserved 10 year sentences for the Anarchists who can be proven to have commited violent acts and random vandalism. Appropriate sanctions for others who get stupid. And no, I am not against protests, and I believe they have a place in our democracy, but what we are getting now are protests as a form of weekend recreation, for every fringe cause someone can think up. Perhaps if protestors have to answer for any damage and inconveince to other law abiding citizens, maybe some of these casues may not be worth the effort and expense.
  18. Perhaps if street level prostitution was decriminalized, it could then be regulated like a hotdog stand or chip wagon. You don't see them going up willy nilly or moving about at will. They could be controlled by bylaw enforcement instead of the criminal justice system. Take money for sex = professional sex. It would be way easier to nab underage girls, because you don't have to go through the step of proving they were actually prostituting themselves. As for public health, all the regs and enforecement options already exist to maintain the safety of a legal regulated enterprise, they just can't be applied to prostitution as it exists today. isn't there something about insanity being the repitition of the same group of actions that didn't work the last time?
  19. We are far to easy on protesters in Canada. Perhaps that is why protesting achieves nothing in modern day Canada, there is no consequence to civil disobedience. Protesters get detained for a few hours, get a court date with a token slap on the wrist and let go to do it all over again. For most of the miscreants, it is nothing more than a wekend adventure. For civil disobedience to work, protesters have show they are willing to accept dire consquences for their actions. I'm pretty sure Ghandi and his followers would laugh at out little princess protesters. Perhaps when we start handing out 10 year prison sentence to any anarchist who can be associated with violent acts and other sanctions against protesters who get out of hand, then maybe those who really have something to say will get some attention.
