  1. Wait, did someone say that a pet will never steal from you??? That has not been my experience. I live with dogs and cats. Unguarded food is not safe around either, and I've caught them making off with or holing away everything from glasses to emery boards to earbuds to cash and more. Shameless little thieves!
  2. I could possibly be married to the world's laziest man. But I'll never know. Because the laziest people in this world are too lazy to organize a competition.
  3. Okay, confession time: any time other than when I'm in a session, I'm actually pathologically modest. It's so hot today, and I've been moving furniture around all day. I would _LOVE_ to go in the pool. But... all the neighbours are out there. And a friend of ours has installed himself at our place for the afternoon, for the pool, the moonshine and the food. And so... I guess I'll take another shower.
  4. At our house, we've sworn off fast food for some years, but there are still a few things I miss. One is Tim Horton's Iced Cappucino. I couldn't even get one here if I tried. There's no Timmy's in my town. But I think I've come up with an easy clone at home: For this recipe, you will need a blender and an extra ice cube tray. Make strong coffee, let cool, then pour into ice cube tray and freeze. When cubes are frozen, you can put them in a plastic bag or a container for your freezer. When you're ready to make your Iced Cap, combine in blender: 2 cubes frozen coffee 12 (or more) regular ice cubes ¼-½ C sugar (or whatever sweetener you prefer) 1-1½ C milk Blend! The finished product should be thick. If yours isn't, add more ice. Also, it will not be as brown as what you get from Tim Horton's. Obviously, they add some food colouring. Makes enough for two!
  5. I think I perfected a Timmy's Iced Cap today. Strong coffee ice cubes, a little milk, some sugar and lots of regular ice cubes all blended together. Do you think a pinch of cinnamon would touch it off? I'm overjoyed at the food treats we make here at home these days. Many thanks to the internet (not the least of which, Pinterest). But it does seem kinda funny the way I used to rail against "processed" food. Most of what we eat these days is processed. (It's not like we're living on nuts and berries.) Only we're doing the processing. I guess it's industrially processed food I want to avoid.
  6. This! People have been raving about it on Pinterest. They claimed it tastes just like chicken wings. Well, that's a bit of an exaggeration (which IKR? is so rare for Pinterest), but they are scrumptious and crunchy and addictive as hell. I used the recipe below, only I used real minced garlic and onion. I served it with a homemade Ranch dressing. http://www.persnicketyplates.com/2013/04/buffalo-cauliflower.html
  7. Lying in bed, and catching up on CERB, hoping to distract myself from thinking about ways to murder the bastards next door who thought it would be a good idea to start a roofing project promptly at 7 am.
  8. Actually, the purpose of the Internet was to give power to the people, and bring about justice, equality and world peace. The porn and kitties are a conspiracy of the 1%.
  9. I completely screwed up this morning. I ended up insisting someone take a $100 discount, it was so ugly. I live in a little old farmhouse that... let's just say it has a lot of personality. Most of the time, it's pretty sweet out here in the summer. I don't even have to use a/c most of the time. But every once in a while, we hit an extremely humid day and just everything in here (me included!) is damp. This was one of those days. Usually, I refuse appointments here, or cancel, under these conditions. I took one last summer with a regular, and while it was a disaster, at least it was funny. At some point, we figured we might as well finish up in the shower, as we couldn't get any wetter. So this morning, I didn't realize that I probably should be cancelling until after the customer already left home, as he was coming from an hour away. I stepped out of the shower shortly after 8 am, and at 10 am, when he arrived, I was still wet. Wet hair. Wet skin. What little make-up I had on was sliding off. I hadn't put the a/c in. Dumb move!!! I apologized when he arrived and explained the situation, and suggested maybe we not go through with it, but he wanted to go ahead. (He was really very nice about all of this. A lot of people wouldn't have been.) We started in the massage room, but halfway through, I had to (literally) throw in the towel. We set up on my funny little chair in the bedroom, and ended up having a pretty good time, but man! It was so humid in here, I felt like I needed a mask, snorkel and fins! I haven't actually cried yet, but I'm so bummed out. I never was the prettiest woman, but I've always prided myself on providing a quality experience (and having fun in the process, when possible!). I have to admit, in honesty, that the ONLY reason this morning wasn't a complete disaster is because I lucked out with an extraordinarily nice guy. On my end, I completely dropped the ball.
  10. It's after 10 am, and I'm still in bed. The perfect place to be on a delightfully cool morning! Even the dogs are enjoying it. I'm staying here 'til noon.
  11. Today I had to vacuum cat fur out of the bathtub and wipe muddy dog prints off the TOP of the fridge. Spring is not my favourite season.
  12. I'm from a huge game-playing family, of which, I'm the least gamesy of them all. But my daughter won't take no for an answer, and there are two new games I've really enjoyed playing lately. One is more solitary, called GeoGuessr.com . Basically, you're dumped at a location somewhere in the world, and you had to guess where you are. You can travel around, research roads, shops, area codes on billboards, whatever you see. I LERV this game! If you really enjoy digging in and having to follow clues, you might love it to. You can share your scores here. I think my best score so far was 29,900 and change. The top score would appear to be 35,000 over 5 rounds of a possible 7000 points (but I'm not sure). The other weird thing about this game is that, after following the roads around, looking for clues, you almost feel like you've been somewhere! Gives me weird dreams. The other is a game created by a couple guys from the band OK Go called SayTheSameThing.com. It's available on iPhone (iPod, iPad) or Android. Basically, you and your partner each say a random word. Then you each try to say a word that somehow ties the two together. You keep playing until you both say the same thing. I feel like I've spent a lot of time playing these two games lately, but I'm not ready to stop. Come and play!
  13. We had bacon cheeseburger wraps with French fries and ketchup. Very satisfying in this rainy night.
  14. I've been feeling a bit ground down with topsy turvy scheduling lately. Yesterday was a loooooong day in the kitchen, followed by a night that didn't wrap up until 4:30 this morning. I was relieved to spend most of today in bed. I'm listening to an audiobook, one of Lee Child's Jack Reacher series, "Worth Dying For." But really, I'm snoozing through most of it. I can go back and listen to it again later. Today is for rest.
  15. Having one piece of software decide it doesn't like the other, and inevitably, both tech supports claim it's not their problem. Thanks, guys! You know, next time you decide to act like I'm being a pain in the ass asking for support, remember which one of us is getting paid for the time spent on this bullshit.

  17. Grrr! Allergies!!! They're giving me hell. Took an antihistamine before an appointment last week, and it dried me up like chalk. I thought I was going to have to use KY for a bj. Today was unseasonably warm, very dry, and my eyes were itching and my nose running. So I took an antihistamine. Everything was fine until I got the goal segment of my outcall in Ottawa. I think something ricocheted and went up my nose. I felt a strong urge to sneeze for the rest of the session. I should have grabbed some tissues to take with me in the car home! My runny nose and itchy eyes returned with a vengeance on the way home and I couldn't find a tissue in the car to save my life. Augh!!!!! People wonder why I'm a winter person!
  18. We tried pizzadillas tonight after seeing them on Pinterest. I just made a big stack of tortillas on Friday. We put homemade ketchup, oregano, sliced pepperoni, thinly sliced mushroom and onion, and mozzarella on half a tortilla, folded it over, and fried it like a quesadilla. This recipe is a keeper! Makes up quick from stuff on-hand, and tastes better than what you can get out. We'll have more later, I'm sure!

  20. I suppose I can tell now that it's in retrospect. We tried something new tonight. Very simple, but I see a lot of this in my summer. We crumbled meatballs into tortillas with cheddar and nuked them to melt the cheese. Then we topped with ketchup, mustard and salad mixed with mayo. It was better than any fast food chain cheeseburger I've ever had! I just wish I would have added on some pickles.
  21. I'm not telling. Every time I post what we're planning for dinner on here, something happens and our plans get postponed or cancelled.
  22. I've been languishing in technology hell for over a week now. And it ain't over yet. Sigh!
  23. No one can impose monogamy on you if you say no. But if you reject it and have no intention of being monogamous, but let them think you will, then you're the liar and the cheat. It's not their fault. If you don't want to be monogamous, then it's up to you to make that clear, or else accept the fact that you are betraying their trust. The problem for many men I've known over the years wasn't monogamy, but one partner unilaterally deciding that the sexual aspect if the relationship was over. Now that's an imposition. But for someone to want a monogamous relationship, and be very clear about that from the start, is not an imposition because you can refuse it.
