  1. I do tip on occasion, and have given gifts (chocolates or flowers) to some one I see on a regular but occasional basis. Sadly, there are many industries today where it has become the rule rather than the exception, a bit of an import from the states. I think it's almost a habit and as such has lost it's meaning, a way of rewarding exceptional service. As for a first encounter, that's almost like an interview. If she gives a credible service then subsequent dates will ensue.
  2. Don't think I've looked at them in years. At one time I might look if I was in a motel in a smaller center to get the lay of the land.
  3. Saw my doctor today, and the news was reassuring. Was expecting the worst, still don't know what's the problem, but at least ruled out several scary ones.
  4. You can always get the occasional DVD.
  5. Time is at hand. If anyone needs a drive from downtown or to the west of downtown send me a PM, and I am sure we can arrange something. Henry
  6. Food processor, good addition to the kitchen, love to cook.
  7. I'd opt for eighty. One has to consider what you need to live a good retirement and a happy longevity. I would suggest that there are many other factors that ensure a good quality of life in old age, more than money. This old bod has a best before sticker, and I doubt that any amount of money will buy health in the long term. We seem terribly afraid of death in Western society, as evidenced by the extremes we go to prolong it. I observed the ravages of time on my parents who are both deceased, my father finally taking his own life because my mother had already died with dementia and he lived on with chronic pain. You might get to see your grandchildren grow up but all other people of your generation would pass and you might become a very lonely person. I can't imagine the possibilities of outliving my own children which is a real possibility under this scenario, but hey you could always buy new friends.
  8. This doesn't directly answer the question, but I have a boy and girl and believe the biggest influence in their development was their order of birth. My daughter was first and as novice parents we treated her like china, breakable, so were always lavishing her with attention. When my son arrived we'd realized that babies are pretty robust, and we were far more relaxed. They have turned out as very nice young adults with quite different personalities.
  9. I am not a Harper fan and think there is still an opportunity to defeat him, so I think it's rather presumptuous to give him the election at this point. There is an assumption that he'll win it on the economy, but he has delayed the budget for a reason, probably because revenues aren't as expected. Oil was sub $44 today, and even the export market hasn't expanded even as we now have an 88 cent dollar. I don't see him balancing the budget as promised. Between now and the election call there are a few potential problems. The Duffy trial will start to shine the light on their ethics again, they will extend the mission in Iraq, and say there is another casualty, or heaven forbid a soldier captured. And there will be a campaign, this time I think the Liberals have more money to mount a better try. Can the NDP fend off the Conservatives in Quebec. And there is the usual debate, strange things can happen there.
  10. My biggest concern is that the PM is quite capable of winning another election. There are two areas which concern me, not about specific legislation, but about his style. In the US, although dysfunctional in their own way, their three branches of government are independent and counterbalance each other, Here with a majority Harper controls both the administrative and legislative branches, and seems to thumb his nose at the supreme court, by flouting their decisions. If you remember he came to power by painting the Liberals as dishonest and in government to further their own interests. He promptly introduced accountability and transparency legislation. I think it's pretty clear that he doesn't believe in these ideas. He runs a government that hides behind secrecy, and I believe puts the interests of the Conservative party above the idea of good non partisan governance designed to further the interests of the average Canadian.
  11. It seems to me that there are more MAs and spas quoting a 45 minute massage. My guess is that they can book appointments on the hour with a 15 minute interval to clean up the room and prepare for the next client.
  12. I have to say I wasn't too impressed by the first couple of episodes, but as it's been developing I am starting to enjoy it.
  13. I know it's not common in North America but there is an other solution. I'm expecting my son home from the middle east this week end and he carries a dual sim phone, if I'm not mistaken it's a Galaxy S5. He has one number for his company and the second as his personal phone. I'm sure if they have the right specs you can probably find one here to work with your provider. I know I'll be taking a look at it when he's here, If he lets me I might try to exchange sims and try it on the Rogers network while he's home.
  14. If you like a mature lady, there's a TasteofEve. Very nice lady, and has great nice digs in Kanata. Likes it if you come with a good bottle of Italian Red to share.
  15. I'd also suggest looking up their profile, and from there you can pull up their posting history. Take some time to go through their earlier posts and you should be able to get a real sense as to their personalities.
  16. I like kissing, but am quite accepting if the lady in question doesn't want to indulge. Every lady has her preferences that have to be respected, some in that this is a form of intimacy they reserve for their significant other. It does add to the intimacy that can grow with repeat dates.
  17. Haven't had Donair til you've had one in Halifax with that special sauce.
  18. One of my favs, corned beef and cabbage
  19. I've always found an email telling her a bit about yourself paves the way to any further communications. Without being explicit you can let her know what your needs are and it generally puts her at ease, she can see what type of person to expect. You have to remember that text has limits for a first time inquiry.
  20. The password app was Vault, it is fairly simple but has a nice clean interface with good encryption, and is backed up to dropbox. If some one tries to access it more than 5 times the data self destructs and you have to recover it from your back up. You can probably get it the Amazon app store.
  21. Blackberry recently did a great update to there operating system, and I was really pissed off when my password app wasn't supported. Wrote the developer, and he explained that he was unable to upgrade it to BB10, but he would re publish it as an android app in four or five weeks, which is now supported. Today after three weeks got the upgrade and restored the data from Dropbox. What a relief, was terrified that I'd have to start over.
  22. If it's a matter of a same day appointment, then I might be tempted to send her a text asking if it's convenient to give her a call, or could she return the call at her convenience.
  23. I'm with Magician on this one. I generally go for massage and a shower together is fairly common, but I've had two ladies that were happy to run a tub and share it with me.
  24. And probably a whole lot more expensive at a SC.
