Hey Spud, sorry to hear things are piling up on you. Always enjoyed chatting with you. Like others have already said, you have friends here, many a shoulder to lean on. Don't be shy about reaching out.

I don't think it is feasible the way you have laid out. You state that it would inject more money into the economy, but I'm not sure where this comes from. You still have to claw it back from the wealthy and middle class to redistribute. As we live in a free market system, the economy would adapt to a new norm and I suspect that this additional spending power for the poor would erode fairly quickly and they'd be left without the original safety net.

What phone are you using....
Boomer replied to Ice4fun's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I'm still very positive on Blackberry, and picked up a Z10 this year. It's been a great phone, and I don't really understand the bad press. BB as a company has a lot of great assets and it's demise is in my opinion highly over done. With the latest software, many of the Android apps will become available, they have BBM, a secure network, patents, and the QNX software. With a push on enterprise I think they will be back. -
Sure, I'd go one on ten. I'm north of sixty five, so would be nice to add to the kids inheritance, and getting old is not all it's cracked up to be.

What makes Cerb such a great site
Boomer replied to someguy's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I believe that it's unique among the other boards. I happen to be in Ottawa where I think there is probably one of the strongest communities to have grown up around this industry. I don't think any were else we've had as many socials, and had chances to make friends, both with the providers but also with other gentlemen who use there services. -
Sure, I think it is a possibility. I am a mature guy, and with age I am in a transition. I still thoroughly enjoy the intimacy of being with a woman, but find that the actual sex act isn't as important as it was in my youth and middle age. I think just enjoying all the senses, kissing snuggling, smell or a massage are just some of the many activities that can be still enjoyed. The only caveat is that both partners have to trust each other to be able to have good communications. The other thing is that you have to have a clear understanding of the limits and where you want to go should those rules wish to be crossed.

Evolution VS. Intelligent Design
Boomer replied to a topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I don't know quite where I fit into the religious continuum, but still buy into the theory of evolution. There is just too much empirical data to discount evolution as the way the human race has evolved. Too buy into the creationist theory one must have an unassailable faith which I think limits the ability to fairly explore the other option based on science. -
How long have you been in the industry
Boomer replied to loneskater's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I can't remember the exact date or indeed whether it was my first foray into this lifesyle. It was before I got married, probably in the late sixties. I and a buddy went to New York from Montreal and spent some time around Times Square back when it was full of strip shows, bars and street walkers. Anyway we were propositioned by a couple of ladies and split up to go and indulge. As it turned out we both got rolled, and in those days I don't think we had debit or credit cards and made it back to Montreal with only some silver in our pockets. -
What kind of business etiquette is this?
Boomer replied to a topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Totally unacceptable, but shit happens in this industry. It does illustrate the need to take personal steps to protect yourself. There are numerous threads here on using a burner phone and other step to hide your activities from prying eyes. Good luck in dealing with the SO. -
Sure he's a bit of a bad boy, but seems to me there are several things happening that are wrong. Once the media become involved it becomes a race to compete for the next scoop, for the next news cycle and it becomes a circus that feeds on itself. After all, the Star has been on his case since he was elected, it's gotca politics. Ante up $5K and you've got another video to post. The other thing is there don't seem to be clear guidelines and penalties for misbehavior that are in place for normal employment. e.g caught drinking you get suspended without pay for a week. So what happens is you get judged by other politicians whose motives may be selfish and self serving, so justice is not the primary concern. We saw that in the senate fiasco.

BBM for Android and iPhone (in addition to existing BlackBerry users)
Boomer replied to techno_babble's topic in Tech corner
From what I know the IOS and Android versions have been very popular. You have to remember that it uses the Blackberry network and is very secure. As video chat becomes the rule, I'm betting BB will find ways to monitize the BBM system. Also there are applications of BBM that can be used in the business world. I have a Z10 and find it to be a great phone, and with the new software release a lot of the Android apps will be easily ported to BB10. Lastly I think BB will survive, and if they don't build the handsets someone will. -

Is it a couples world
Boomer replied to CristyCurves's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Single not by choice, my wife for 25 years died of cancer. Since that happened of course I have struggled with whether to find another committed relationship, and have decided to lead a single life, I have my children and am comfortably well off. But at times I must admit to bouts of loneliness, and maybe having that companion to share life would be beneficial. Participating in this hobby is obviously enjoyable but the hour always comes to an end. -
I am a bit disappointed with the senate decision to furllow the three senators. It was a political decision which I think was orchestrated by the PMO. If the senate is to be separate and do their job properly I don't think they should be taking their marching orders from the PM. I think it has opened the door to further partisan political abuse in the future. People point to the fact that they would have been turfed in private industry, but I would point out that even there they would have been given the chance to defend themselves and also some avenue of appeal. As for elimination of the Senate, far harder to do than say. My guess is that it would become a constitutional issue, and we know what happened the last attempt to open up the constitution, a real can of worms. We'll know better when we get the reference from the supreme court.

I use Viagra and have previously used Cialis. I preferred the Cialis but the doctor has stopped giving me the script for it because of it's longer half life. I take a blood pressure medication and he doesn't want to have a distorted blood pressure should I ever need medical care. I would agree that there can be a nice residual affect the following day. The only problem is it takes a bit of experimenting to find the best time to take it or when on an empty stomach.

I remember that Chanel Reign had a page on her web site where she listed a number of luxury items she wanted and the corresponding service that went with it if you were willing to provide that item. As I recall one of those was a nice Canon lenses for her camera. Those offers aren't part of her new site.

My neighbor hood is slowly been changing over to the next generation, so each years I get more kids at the door. I tend to buy the usual, but also keep a bunch of juices handy. I also tend to buy thing that I like as there are always left overs which I'll be eating up myself.

I think so. Haloween party on Friday, and non members welcome to drop in, but should rsvp.

I have a touch screen and find the Windows 8 version works well. For me the tiles worked fine, but even using legacy software it was only a touch away. I did the upgrade yesterday and it went without a hitch. I am a believer in keeping current as each successive version becomes more secure and stable.

A little bit further back were the big bad muscle cars of the early seventies. Remember the Swinger 340 ,the 383 Superbee with a six pack and the 426 hemis, you probably figured out by now I was a Chrysler guy at the time.

Count me in, will put down the fee right away. After the success of the last one, might have to make it a bigger event.

Ever got lost....
Boomer replied to Bianca Jaguar's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I agree about the paper maps. I find that when I'm using my GPS in my car I loose track of the bigger picture, always looking for the next turn. The map I can pull up on the phone is pretty small, but still can get me out of a jam. -
Just took my turkey out of the freezer, it's a utility so tomorrow evening I put it in a brine bath over night. A combination of salt, brown sugar and water in a cooler and it will be tenderized. I stuff the neck with sausage and use the remainder in the bread stuffing. Last but not least I put three or four rashes across the breast, it was always a hit for the kids who would pick away at them while waiting for dinner. Hoping for company this year but even so as I live alone there's always a lot left, which first goes into one of the best soups of the year. I also do a bunch of turkey pot pies for the freezer.
