Generally I would expect a response to a PM simply as I use the feature sparingly, and think I am polite and use good judgement in who I PM (I'd be surprised if I didn't get a reply from Cat based on her reputation here.). If I was ignored I would probably let it lie. Sometimes though I think we have unrealistic expectations about email, send an email and there's an obligation to reply, not so. When I was still working, email was still growing in importance, and I would make time first thing in the morning and before I left for the evening, if it was time sensitive or critical they could give me a ring. There are all sorts of ways to get an email noticed, starting with an eye catching subject line or front end loading the important points in the first sentence or two (like an executive summary)

Being a good person and enjoying this hobby
Boomer replied to Megan'sTouch's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Most of the ladies I see are usually independent and have a certain maturity, and most of the suggestions here make a lot of sense. No one really wants to deal with a lady that's coerced. However, I guess there's a question that arises from the topic. What do you do when confronted with the fact that the lady isn't there of her own free will. In Megan' example, might make sense to give her a few dances knowing that she'll make her quota and get off her feet a little sooner. Obviously it's not a solution, but it's what it is. In an extreme example I suppose one's obligated to report it to LE, but we all know what a can of worms that would be. -
I believe Jessica offers Neru, and CMJ has offered this service. Edit - Whoops, didn't look at the location before posting

I think rather than try understand all the possibilities, you just have to take the plunge. If you do a little research you will find many reputable ladies and spas here who will recognize the signs, that you will need a little extra attention. Take a few extra bob and don't be too pushy and I'm sure they will let you know the score and take you in hand.. If you repeat you will make friends, and probably get better service as they get more comfortable with you. Keep your expectations realistic and I'm sure you won't be disappointed. -
I'm a soup guy, usually put some broth on and go from there. I can be quite creative, usually with some celery, carrots, onions, and then maybe some lentils, noodles or rice and any left over chicken or hamburger. Use the left over water from cooking the potatoes or veggies the night before to add some real flavour. Dumplings are so easy on so many dishes. My mom used to make a great dessert. It started with a fruit base bubbling in the pot, and then with dumplings on top.

Wouldn't go without the rubber. I had the cap come off a cup of Timmies coffee while driving and spill into my lap and it ran down under me on the seat. It's scalding and even raising my but, the pants stuck to me, and it is excruciating. It took minutes to cool down while I squirmed and tried to stay in control . Play safe.

Buying a Car in the U.S.?
Boomer replied to Nicolette Vaughn's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
When I lived in Halifax, I used an independent limo driver whenever I had to get to the airport. He would go to the US ever couple of years and pick up a used Lincoln Town car for his business. He swore by it and always got great deals. -
I generally Priceline bid for most of my travel, and I've come to expect an expensive parking and internet fee charged by the hotel. Using a service like this you can't check out the services ahead because you don't know the hotel until after the bid is accepted. I think I'm way ahead.

I've always had a full beard and mustache, maybe I should get points for shaving it off.

I think a lot of them are just too pricey, I am using a Playbook I got for $269 and it does everything I want it too do. One interesting new developmental is the e readers are making a push with a new Kindle and Kobo with many new functions. The new Kobo Vox has a colour 7" screen, Wifi access, a browser, and Android 2.3 so that you can use their apps all for $199. I think that the tablets makers are all going to drop their prices considerably if they want to compete.

Would you find this insulting?
Boomer replied to April Dawn's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I'm with Megan on this one, but just maybe he'd rather be sitting at home on pogie. -
It might help a little, but there's a lot of take out cups, and I can't see saving them to take home for the recycle bin. And anyway I always ask for a mug when I'm at the store, gets around the issue and probably more effective.

We live in a tech age, so these things happen, and all the gals don't always follow the rules. Those that know me probably wouldn't text me but know they can contact me if they chose. I think you have to bear a great deal of responsibility here. You have accepted the risk of participating in this activity and haven't taken the precautions necessary to protect yourself. Having a pay as you go disposable is a must. Having identical phones around is crazy, if it wasn't a text, she might have just as easily taken a look at your history which you would have to explain. The more you have to make up stories for the SO the greater the chance you'll get caught. As JuliasUndies wrote get a hobby phone and leave it at the office.

I am in agreement with you Cat. Dogs are pets, not members of the family, and they can't replace human relationships. I think one of the problems as illustrated by your incident, is that owners aren't being held personally responsible for there pets. There are many incidents where dogs have injured people, other pets and in my books they should be put down and the owners charged. The only way for them to avoid being prosecuted would be for them to pay restitution to the satisfaction of the injured party.

Three or four years ago I faced the same dilemma. After some research I wound up on Michael Smiths web page, and he recommended brineing, and gave a good set of instructions. Used a wine making pail, and it worked out fairly well. It's a bit of work though, and I include his up to date link. http://chefmichaelsmith.com/Recipe/brined-holiday-turkey-with-herb-gravy/ Good luck

what are your ontario leanings?

Probably a minority, and that means the NDP support will require that the deficit will continue to grow. -

Count me in, by the response already you may have to find a bigger venue. -
You might want to check the ALO site, she's on their schedule.

I suspect they might already have some responsibility. In the case of driving there have been cases that have gone to court when a host of a party or bartender has allowed patrons to continue drinking when they are known to have driven and may want to go home the same way. If there were a test case bought by the police and prosecutor I think that they might find some negligence, and things would change. It only takes one courageous prosecutor with the resources to establish a precedent.

That's not a lot to pay for rent. if you want something decent. My son is in Toronto and he has found that sharing an apartment is an effective way of getting a reasonable place to live, and still have some cash in his pocket to spend. You'll have a few bob to spend on some of the lovely ladies here.

The girls have done a lot of work on this, so it's time to show them the support they deserve by picking up your tickets now. Takes a lot of uncertainty for them to get the tickets out of the way. If you're sitting on the fence get them anyway, it's a good deal and pretty cheap for a well organized event

I am partially in agreement. It's a lot like telemarketing, which has some rules. The problem is that some people get carried away and are too persistent, don't know when to lay off. I personally don't mind an occasional PM about a offer of service, as long as she's doing it intelligently. I may have checked her profile, or she's researched my posts and thinks she that I would like her. With telemarketers I firmly but politely tell them I'm not interested after they Identify themselves, and will ask to be put on their do not call list if they repeat. It's a waste of their resources to call me back if I'm not going to buy their product.
