Kind of proving my point for me. Part of the purpose of those speaking events would be dispelling this old-guard stereotype that all dancers are uneducated high school/college dropouts. It's worth noting that plenty of dancers and other sex workers are also current students. And that plenty of former dancers are graduates.

Just off the top of my head, but for strip clubs that want to appear less "shady" for lack of a better term, maybe involving themselves more positively in the community could be a good look for their overall image. Maybe have some willing bar staff and/or dancers participate in community charity events under the banner of the club. Maybe delivering supplies to heavily impacted homes and communities. Not only is that needed right now, but I doubt that it would go unnoticed. Doing charity work with women's shelters would go a long way to dispelling that exploitative image. Or when things are up and running again, willing and able dancers could perhaps do speaking events at colleges and the like, dispelling the myths and stereotypes of the industry while highlighting its positive aspects in an honest and straightforward way. Not so much as a recruitment tool, but more like a Ted Talk type of thing. There are probably some logistical hurdles with some of that (as with anything), but I'm just brainstorming.

To be fair, the FAQ section of her website lists three screening options, only two of which require you to divulge your name and/or ID. It indicates that her preferred method of screening is actually a "Recent reference from a past provider: her name and preferred contact method". Which, presumably, would not require you to divulge your ID. Unless, of course, you have some reason to think that someone wouldn't be willing to give her a reference on your behalf....in which case, yeah, her screening is working. Don't get me wrong, I'm not implying that you're a bad client, maybe you can't provide a recent reference because it's been well over a year since you've indulged yourself with a SP/MA (which would be my case), or maybe some other totally innocent reason,...but it's easy to see how a more challenging screening process in lieu of a simple reference would weed out a lot of the bad element.

IMO, it depends on your schedule. I'm mainly a daytime/late afternoon SC guy (on my way home from work) so I've never really felt unsafe going to PM. Now, is it a place I would want to close out the night at on any given day of the week? Nope. But then again, at my age, I'm not closing out any bars anymore, Vanier or otherwise lol. That being said, it's up to everyone to decide their own comfort levels.

No offense, but I'm getting kind of tired of reading this kind of answer whenever this question or something like it is posed. We're on an escort recommendation board. I think it's a safe bet that everyone here already knows that SP's and MP's are an option. If we needed reminding of that, we wouldn't be members on this board. Nothing against SP's or MP's. God love 'em, and I've seen more than a few in my time. But the fact of the matter is that there's a certain kind of setting and ambiance you get in a club that you can't get with a SP or a MP. SP's definitely have some advantages over stripclubs, no doubt about it, but stripclubs also have qualities that SP's don't. The sense of the unknown, not knowing who you will see as you walk in, maybe seeing someone new and getting butterflies in your stomach because you don't know what your experience will be like with this person. In other words, a fun sense of spontaneity that is often missing from a typical SP experience in which your "final destination" was fully discussed and agreed upon hours, sometimes days, before the actual encounter (and for good reason). For some, that sense of the unknown, that "gamble" can add a significant level of excitement. Or, for some guys, their kink might be the "quasi-exhibitionist" factor of being close with a beautiful, naked woman in a relatively public setting, even if that final destination (to use your analogy) isn't even in the same area code as where you'd end up with a SP behind the wheel. Sometimes the road trip through unknown terrain can be just as satisfying and intriguing as reaching that final destination. You've mentioned that a more adventurous-than-normal CR experience can feel rushed. I'm sure that's probably true, and for some guys, maybe THAT is their kink. Maybe that only adds to that sense of exciting spontaneity. For myself, any and all of these elements play a part in why I enjoy the clubs. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy spending prolonged, more relaxed, more intimate and naughtier time with a beautiful SP as well. But sometimes our urges vary from day to day, or our opportunities to indulge ourselves are a spur of the moment thing. And seeing a reputable SP on a "spur of the moment" basis is a hard thing to do. The clubs are designed to allow you to spend time with a beautiful woman on the fly, on your schedule, no appointment required. Long story short, we all have our kinks, our preferences, and I don't think anybody on this board needs reminding that escorts are a thing. To (finally) answer the OP's original question, in my experience, for last-minute daytime visits my preference leans towards Taboo, Playmate, and BareFax, in that order. But of course, don't ever go in expecting anything more than a dance, YMMV always applies, and every dancer may or may not have different boundaries and those boundaries should always be respected. My philosophy? Just sit back, follow her lead and enjoy the journey wherever it may lead you. Never mind about the destination.

I'm a little confused. In a recent thread about Taboo's possibly imminent closure, someone else indicated that the license does NOT automatically transfer over to a new owner. But this comment seems to indicate otherwise. Anyone know for sure?

Barb's used to be my favorite go-to club, but haven't been back in 7 or 8 years since things got a little too "conservative" for my particular tastes once the bylaws changed IYKWIM. Is that still the case or have things loosened up a bit over the years? It's a shame because Barb's is way more conveniently located for me than some of the other clubs I've come to frequent over the years and I've always enjoyed its ambiance.

On the topic of duos, I was in there early Monday afternoon two weeks ago. I was hoping to spend time with Grace since I've heard good things about her but she was keeping her time occupied with one or two gents. Very few ladies were working that day. As some have pointed out, being an MA isn't cheating in and of itself. The word "cheating" implies some form of deception. The fact that she lied about it is the problematic part here. Then again, maybe not. But I have a question, when you say you found out she was an MA, did you find out by some other means or did she break the news to you herself? If she was eventually honest with you about it then I'd cut her some slack... she might have had her reasons (such as waiting until the relationship was on solid, sturdy ground) before revealing that part of her life to you. As Cat points out, discretion is paramount in this line of work, a lot of times a girl's livelihood (and her safety) depends on it. Maybe she needed to first make sure that you weren't the type of guy to show up at her place of work and start a scene or "out" her to her friends and family before revealing this to you. If this is a relatively new relationship, then I can honestly say I wouldn't blame her for not disclosing this to you right away for the reasons of discretion as I previously noted. If you've been together for a long time and she still felt she couldn't tell you about this, then there may be some trust issues to work through there. Being a MA is a non-issue IMO, it's the lack of honesty and transparency that raises more serious questions (depending on how long you've been together and how serious this relationship is). Long story short, there is no clear-cut "yes" or "no" answer to this question of cheating.

I've been going there off and on for years now and have never experienced anything negative or dangerous. Then again, I typically only frequent stripclubs during the daytime on weekdays. During the day time people are not usually there to "party", and having less customers and less dancers just makes everything a lot more relaxed. I prefer the more laid back atmosphere of daytime over the loud, drunken "party" atmosphere of nights. Nights is a very different scene and atmosphere in strip clubs, and one I don't find particularly enjoyable...particularly Friday and Saturday nights. There have been infrequent incidents of violence during these times at pretty much every stripclub (or nightclubs period) in the city, not just Taboo. You crowd a bunch of drunk guys into a room together, toss in a healthy dose of T & A and testosterone, and you're just asking for trouble. Long story short, I don't think it's any more or less dangerous then any other club in the Ottawa-Gatineau region, just depends on when you go and what kind of atmosphere you're looking for. That's just based on my experiences there. Others may have have different insight.

Can anyone confirm if the 4pm opening for Taboo still applies? I've found some indications online that they are actually open at noon on Sundays. (Yellowpages and a Google pic of their street sign from October of this year which indicates they open at noon 7 days a week). I've never in all my years of attending SC's heard of a club opening so early on Sundays so I'm not sure if I should take even these indications as fact.

As Kilt Boy mentioned, Die Hard is an unsung hero in the annals of classic Christmas movies. I also particularly enjoy The Nightmare Before Christmas (doubles as a great Halloween movie!) and my personal fave for the holidays, !
