Agreed! I recently had to beef up my french reading skills for work so I picked up The Exorcist in french, having already read it in English a few times (one of my favorite books lol). It worked wonders! So yeah....pick a book you've already read a few times and feel familiar with that is an easy read and not too heavy on the huge drawn out metaphors and descriptions (ie, avoid Anne Rice lol)....That's great advice! But maybe its best just to get the basics of the french language down first. Otherwise it would be like reading greek.

Hulk (2003) - a very underrated movie in my opinion. Maybe too "talky" and psychological for most people but then that's what I really enjoyed about it. People were expecting a fun popcorn summer action movie but got something else entirely. I thought it was very brave and ambitious in that sense. They could have gone the easy route and given us a fun, mindless, popcorn flick. But instead they tried something else. One of the first really intelligent, serious "superhero" movies pre-Christopher Nolan. With amazing performances by everyone in it. Uber crappy weekend! Started Friday when my ex's cat, whom I also lived with for several years, and whom was the only cat I was ever able to love (I'm a dog person) had to be put down. The old bugger is in kitty heaven now :( But it was ok, because my long time best friend, who moved far away last year, was visiting for a couple days. So seeing him was sure to cheer me up. Was supposed to hang out today.....but alas I wake up this morning, with all kinds of fever, chills and hot flashes....coughing up all kinds of unmentionable.....stuff. Nasal cavity completely blocked, which means I have to resort to breathing from my mouth....which is only making me cough more. Oh and all the coughing has given me a splitting headache.....so yeah. The only chance I had to hang out with my best friend while he's in town is a bust. Which has me super bummed. Also, seeing my family tomorrow is also out for the same reason. And I haven't seen my Dad in way too long...I miss my Poppa.. Lastly, I was feeling extra frisky yesterday (and still am) and was looking forward to enjoying every spare moment of my long weekend that wasn't dedicated to friends and family to its fullest and wettest ;) Even dipped into my savings a tiny bit (only a tiny bit), something which I never do, to help me spoil myself a bit. Jaws - I have a very love/hate relationship with this movie lol. It's a masterpiece of cinema, and admittedly is one of my favorite movies....but it also stigmatized great white sharks in society's mind and played a big part in why they are now endangered. Peter Benchley, the author of Jaws had the same reservations about his own work when he started seeing the damage it was doing to the great white population after the film's release. He was a huge activist for great whites before he passed away.

I wouldn't let that stop you from the reading the books. Aside from the first season, the show tells entirely different stories from the books. And both are equally entertaining IMO.

God. My first experience was all kinds of horrible. The Gods themselves were warning me against it...but I didn't listen.....read, my fellow cerbites, and behold: a tale of true cock retardation.
