  1. Unfortunately, there's no clubs in Hull. The two worth mentioning on the QC side are in Gatineau, Taboo and Pigale, definitely not within walking distance of Ottawa but a relatively short 10 minute drive if you're avoiding rush hour. On the Ottawa side you may also want to try Playmate or Barefax.
  2. Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein. A classic :p Posted via Mobile Device
  3. Speaking of great documentaries, Sharkwater, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=te5MeQUX4kk. A little graphic and heartbreaking at times...but it will really open your eyes and hopefully will wipe Sharknado, Jaws and all that other dumb crap from your minds. Since I have begun to learn more about sharks, and after seeing this doc. I literally cannot watch Jaws anymore (it was once in my top 5 favorite movies of all time). But Jaws is just so far off base, and so irresponsible.....the negative impact it has had on the public opinion of sharks is undeniable. I can't think of any other single movie that has ever been so damaging to a species.
  4. Just watched "Bad Milo!" I could totally understand how this ridiculous premise may not be for everyone lol. It's pretty low brow. But I for one was thoroughly entertained. A great horror-comedy which in a big way is a love letter to all those "little monster" movies from the 80's that I used to love so much (Critters, Gremlins, Ghoulies, etc). Right down to the ass-demon himself who...like all those other little monsters from the 80's....somehow manages to simultaneously be horrifying and freakin' adorable! :p Plus the use of purely practical effects and puppetry in a modern movie (No CGI!!) was a HUUUUUUGE breath of fresh air for me. A ridiculous plot which is brilliantly executed, and as a result ends up being surprisingly hilarious and oddly heartwarming.
  5. Sooo...one of my favorite Canadian bands, The Headstones, is coming to Ottawa for two shows in December. Their website states the tickets are going on sale on October 26th. So like an idiot I went ahead and assumed the information on their official freakin' website was accurate...but alas...it is not. Both shows are already sold out according to their facebook page. Soooo.....if anyone has come into possession of spare tickets please PM me. I'm looking for up to 4 tickets for the December 21st show or anywhere up to 5 tickets for the December 20th show. Thanks all! :) Posted via Mobile Device
  6. "Dirty thirty" eh? Me likes the sound of that! ;) Hope you had a great birthday!
  7. Actually Christopher Nolan didn't have anything to do with Man of Steel. I could be wrong but I think he was a producer in name only. Basically they cut him a check and he allowed them to slap his name onto the trailers and posters lol. It was Zack Snyder who directed it (300 and Watchmen). I have to disagree that the CGI was bad. The movie definitely had its faults but I don't think the visual effects were among them. Those were probably the best effects I've seen in any superhero movie to date. But alas, special effects alone don't make a good movie. I agree that the non stop fighting in the last hour got exhausting to watch (especially considering that the characters weren't even hurting each other....which made all that fighting and destruction completely pointless). And I never felt that any of the characters were fleshed out enough for me to really care....Superman himself barely had any lines in the movie. I cared more about Jenny Olsen trapped underneath the rubble than I did for Superman or any of his main supporting cast. I don't blame the cast for this movie's failings. They were all great. But the writing definitely needed improvement. And I dunno if it was the director's decision to turn the last 45 minutes of the movie into total destructo-porn....or if it was the studio's.....but that was a big mistake IMO. I like action and explosions as much as the next low brow schmo...but that was too over the top. Overall I would say the movie was....ok. I wouldn't go as far as to consider it "bad". It wasn't awful but it was nowhere near as good as it could or should have been. There is a lot of room for improvement and I really hope they up their game for the sequel.
  8. Well that's kind of a bummer to hear. I haven't seen it yet but I was looking forward to that one. Carrie is one of my favorite books. I'm a huge fan of Julianne Moore and Chloe Moretz has really impressed me so far. I wasn't expecting it to be better than the original movie but I was hoping it would at least be a more faithful adaptation of the book (since that's what they were promising it would be.) Any idea if it actually was or not? Posted via Mobile Device
  9. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. I actually really enjoyed Django Unchained. But then I'm a huge fan of the Western genre. I think a mistake most people make when approaching a western is to think they'll be seeing an "action" movie. Most westerns are pretty slow paced in comparison with the action genre. I would argue that one of the best Westerns of all time, The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly has an even slower pace than Django. The first 15 mins of the movie is two guys sitting at a table staring at each other and barely saying a word. If you're looking for super hyper, fast paced action than Westerns are probably not for you. Posted via Mobile Device
  10. The classic Dracula from 1931 with Bela Lugosi. I'm sure many would disagree with me but I think these old gothic Universal monster movies still stand up today. They're so much fun! I'm watching one a night leading up to Halloween (kind of a tradition for me lol).
  11. Kalifornia. Pretty good movie from back in the day with David Duchovny, Michelle Forbes, Juliette Lewis who is absolutely heart breaking in this, and Brad Pitt being very un-Brad Pitt-ish lol. Posted via Mobile Device
  12. I'm pretty indifferent. If it happens...great. If it doesn't....equally great. My main concern is just making her cum. If an amazing O was achieved I am more than satisfied.
  13. Would someone care to describe Karma? Just so we know who to look for. Daytime or evening?
  14. No one is aware of my "lifestyle". I feel no shame or shyness about it. The fact of the matter is.....well...it's MY Penis. It's MY business. Mine! :p. Even if I were just a "player" with multiple "non-pro" lovers my outlook would be the same. Gentlemen don't kiss and tell or brag. Quite honestly....with the exception of a S.O (which I don't have) my friends or family really don't need to know what I do or don't do with my cock. Posted via Mobile Device
  15. I recently got addicted to all things Star Trek. I can't explain it. I've never liked Star Trek before. I'm half way through watching Next Gen. ....So sad. I'm blaming it on an early mid life crisis. Posted via Mobile Device
  16. Sally doesn't have sex in the CR. She is what one would classify "high mileage" but nothing close to actual sexual intercourse. And to state something like this publicly could get the club into serious legal trouble. That's what PM's are for ;)
  17. Jeepers Creepers. The sequel is poop but this one is good ol' spooky fun.
  18. This sounds like a dancer I used to see at Barefax a while back. Also from Toronto..Slim, fit ebony, small breasts. Tattoos...one in particular I remember was around her bicep I think. Seemingly very intelligent and fun to talk to. A lot of fun in the CR. I can't for the life of me remember her exact stage name but "Sequoia" sounds familiar. I stopped seeing her though because she started getting into the habit of being rather "inventive" when counting up the songs. Sometimes ridiculously so (tacking on an extra brown just for the hell of it). Does this sound like her and did you run into this problem?
  19. Julianne Moore's always great. I'm really looking forward to seeing her in Carrie
  20. More of a mini-series than a movie but just got through watching "Jekyll" for the umpteenth time. Sort of a modern day sequel to the original classic story. Brilliant writing and so much wonderfully dry British humor. And the acting is just freaking awe inspiring! The lead actor, James Nesbitt, somehow manages to make Jekyll and Hyde virtually indistinguishable from one another with the use of virtually no special make-up effects. You can't go wrong with this mini-series. It's just a shame more people don't know about it. I'm still hoping in vain for a sequel. Here's a taste. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=gzsCEQYHAIA
  21. Buying a wedding present for my Dad. Yeah it's a little backwards...my old man beating me to the chapel. But what can ya do? :p Posted via Mobile Device
  22. I'm picking up the last novel in the Dexter series today entitled "Dexter's Final Cut". I'll probably start reading it after my current book. I'm hoping it'll be a better finale than the show. I have a feeling it will be. The novels have managed to retain that sense of fun and dark humour so I think it'll be a good read. Posted via Mobile Device
  23. **SPOILER WARNING!!** but then if you don't want spoilers you probably shouldn't be reading this thread lol. Now did I call that shit or what?! :p I actually rolled my eyes at his internal monologue at the end when he's taking his boat out into the hurricane "I destroy everyone I love" ugh....I HATE uber-emo Dexter! Yeah....could have been better. Could have been worst too. A solid 5.5 out of 10 I guess.
  24. I agree that from a storytelling point of view that ending would be kinda lazy and lame all things considered. However I think a somewhat positive or humorous ending wouldn't be such a bad thing. There's been way too much "doom and gloom" in the series since Rita's death. Heck....even Masuka isn't funny anymore. I miss the fun, darkly humorous series I got hooked on 8 years ago....I wouldn't a mind a hint of that at the ending. I don't think he'll live happily ever after with the woman of his dreams in Argentina...but I also don't think he'll stay in Miami...where would be the closure in that? That would just feel like the ending to another season...not a series ending. They've been hinting at how sad Jamie is about losing Harrison so I think Dexter will be forced to leave without him...leaving him in her care. The way it's shaping up I can see him being forced to leave Miami alone and "take his show on the road" so to speak. That wouldn't be such a bad ending. But I have a bad feeling we'll get some super bleak, ultra depressing ending as that has been the overall tone and feeling of the series for the past several seasons.
