This is taking place in Ottawa right now. The Beaver Cup kicks off on Dow's Lake Friday and our sister station CHEZ 106 is entering their "Hosers" team for the 2nd year in a row. And this year's honorary captain is 84-year-old Doug Palmer. He said he's played much of his life. He played as a child up until he was 21 and picked it up again when he retired at 60 and he still plays every week. He says his skating is his biggest asset, even against men younger than him. "There's not that many young guys, you know they're I've played with some over 60," he said. "But now I'm playing mostly with the over-70 group." He says he'll play right wing at the cup but he's played all the positions at different times. He was drafted to the hosers after his son put him up for it and he thinks the team has a good shot at taking the cup this year. The first game is at 8 Friday and the "Hosers" will play again Saturday. The playoffs, if they make it, are on Sunday. So head out to Dow's Lake this weekend for a skate and to cheer on the boys in support of the Make A Wish Foundation.

jafo105, I will agree with you on member profiles, it is a bit disappointing when profiles are not fully utilized. I would of hoped that my thread http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=51580&postcount=1 would of got the members to provide more information and albums. Maybe a sticky could be made in the newbie section about the benefits of having a completed profile.

Cato, thanks for remembering my thread about PistolPete and good timing of bringing it to light again. Pete has been an outstanding contributor to CERB over the years and it is very important that we show our support to such a distinguished member. He will always be the original CERB ambassador in my view and I do look forward to many more posts and recommendations from Pete. Certainly nice to have you back Pete.

I find that my 1000th post is a bit ironic because it is derived from being recommended by a fellow CERB member that I was a good safe fellow to see. I recently met a great gal that had contacted another hobbyist prior to our encounter for approval. I really had never thought of a hobbyist recommending that another hobbyist was worthy of seeing. Nope, sorry Dan that did not resolve the annoyance/problem. It seems to be caused by the accelerators that are part of IE 8 by what I can figure out. I need to find some way to disable so that it is not pasting the clipboard contents. The main reason I want to rectify this is because I had copied some banking information and then opened a browser window (google is my homepage) and all my personal banking info was on the screen in front of me. I was dumbfounded that this info had just been searched by google on the net. I hope that nothing ever happens because of this, I do not want to be a victim of identity theft and basically be robbed of my finances.

How do I stop Google from pasting my most recent clipboard info into the search box when I open Google? I am using IE 8 If anyone can shed some light on this annoyance it would be appreciated ever so much.
