Teenagers are easier to shop for... a new Samsung Galxay phone and a bunch of gift cards. No wrapping gifts this year. Everyone got gift cards. But I do miss when kids are young and they have that twinkle in their eye. It makes Christmas so much better. This year for some reason, I just wasn't in the Christmas mood that much. Not sure why..

I was supposed to spend Christmas with family visiting but instead woke up yesterday morning not feeling right and then realized I had the stomach flu, the one that comes and goes. My usual elaborate Christmas dinner I host every year had to be put on hold and told everyone to stay away for the time being. My father dropped by today, gave me a xmas present, I fixed his laptop and we watched a movie together. We decided to put my Christmas dinner on hold for a few days until I'm better. How did you spend Christmas day? Hopefully better than mine. lol. However at this time of year, I'm grateful for everything and everyone in my life.

I would go fixed with the rates you've been quoted. I was locked in on a 5 year fixed rate on one my house and this was when rates were higher. After that, I went variable and got better rates. It's hard to say what the rates will be in the future but if you're getting 2.89%, I'd lock that sucker in for 5 years. It's a great interest rate and you will have a piece of mind. Variable mortgage rates are great when the rates are higher and all the banks are competing to get your business with attractive rates. How much lower can interest rates go without having to go back up? And if you want or need to get out of your mortgage, it's easier to do that with a variable one without the penalties you would incur on a fixed. And for the other poster who mentioned about doubling up on the payments on a fixed mortgage, that's a very good idea.

You know you have too many Xmas decorations when you have 3 tupperwares of ornaments that have never been opened. I love Xmas ornaments and always buying every year! lol.

I am surrounded by Christmas decorations and ran out of hooks for ornaments. Can't find them from last year. I go to Walmart and get last package of hook with 150 in them. Been very busy with no time for this tree. Okay, I'm making time now.lol. I told everyone to leave me alone until 7 pm. Hahah.

I dragged the tree off the top of my SUV 2 days ago when it was snowing and slushing and literally had water seeping all over my hardwood floor after I brought it in. It took about 10 towels to mop it all quickly. Daily water and a can of gingerale will keep this tree going for a while. I'll post pic when I'm done decorating. lol.

I`ve got a real 7 foot Christmas tree in my house and it smells great! Now I just have to decorate it because I`ve been busy with work. I`m officially in the Christmas spirit! :)

Someone who doesn't know me well confused me with my friend's daughter and I for being sisters when we were shopping in the mall. Nice to know someone thinks I still look like I'm in my 20's. Great compliment.lol.

In Chicago one day for work on a bitter cold day in December and find myself on a whim the next day on a plane to San Francisco admiring the Golden Gate Bridge where it's a like warm September day. :)

I can't even put it into words to describe this tradgedy only that it is so sad and I feel for the families that are dealing with this and have lost children, friends and family members. What a senseless act! Which leads me to ask, what is it about this time of year that makes people go bezerk? Also, on a side note. those 3 children in Montreal who were allegedly murdered by their mother. It's just something I can't fathom when it comes to innocent lives who are helpless in defending themselves. :(
