  1. True, you are correct. I've also used rates in the past. Finding the right balance between fantasy and reality can be difficult. I think at the end of the day, we all know this is a service and if we can proivide that fantasy for the client in that moment, great.
  2. I don't like the word donation since it sounds as if you're giving money to charity. As we are providing a service, I like to use the word "tribute".
  3. LOL. Angela had nightmares about my cat last night. I actually caught him in this picture when he was yawning from a late night out.
  4. Yeah, you know I'm full of action. ;) Additional Comments: Sure, we'll call it the Happy Hookers club. LOL.
  5. Yes, I agree with you from a hobbyist's point of view. My point was that at the end of the day, clients should be aware that this is a job whether one wants to think of it in a positive or negative way. Or that this line of work sometimes isn't taken seriously by those in the community or society in general. Most people think all we have to do is provide the experience or to put it more bluntly, just lie on our backs and we instantly make money. There is a lot more that goes into it before and after seeing it and shares many parallels to other businesses or those in the service industry. As for providing an experience for the client, it can be hard tightrope to walk from the POV of an SP as it is often difficult to mention things related to the job when you're with a client. The fantasy an SP is creating is directly proportionate to cultivating new business and maintaining current business. So while it is an unspoken rule that this is work, we are being paid and there are other clients waiting in the wings, providing that illusion and not talking about "work" is mandatory.
  6. 1. Visit Australia 2. Go Sky diving even though I freak out just thinking about it. 3. Get my motorcycle license. 4. Visit my sister next year in Seoul, Korea. 5. Spend another New Year's Eve in NYC.
  7. 1. My bed... I have the Heavenly bed that Westin hotels use in their rooms. When I've had a long day ( which is everyday) I jump in and breathe a long sigh of relief. 2. Hot towels fresh out of the dryer on a cold day. 3. A cold glass of coke after its been sitting in the freezer. 4. Friends who make me laugh. 5. Foreplay.
  8. Old Dog, You brought up some valid points and the word "work" makes it sound as if we are doing the daily grind or a 9-5 like in other professions. While SPs do have to create that illusion or fantasy for the client, it still is a job yet I think it differs from SP to SP. Many sex workers are doing this voluntary and enjoy their work, others are doing it temporarily and may or may not enjoy it and others do not have a choice. This can be compared to any other job or career. However, having said that, I think using the term "work" should still be applied. Fantasies aside, we are still performing a service and somehow always have to carry the attitude of "being on". For some, it is difficult. Others can seperate their personal life and their job. Most people in society can have a career or job that they love but it is still work. In my case, I enjoy being an SP as it gives me the freedom to choose my own hours, decide who I want to see, etc but I still expect to get paid. I have been in several management positions, and believe me it was work and sometimes not in a positive way. I had to deal with a lot of BS, office politics and superiors who were morons. I don't think hobbyists should be under the assumption that if an SP uses the term "work" to think of it in a negative way. It's not always what one would think it to be. I think one should also view it on a case by case basis with different SPs for the various reasons mentioned above. I get up everyday, go to work and I like it. Nicki
  9. Yes, cannot wait. I have a bunch of nieces and 1 nephew all under the age of 12 and they came over the other day and trashed my house with their dog in tow after I had the cleaning lady come in the day before. Sigh....
  10. Thank-you so much for the info Globalmug. I will definitely be coming. Just have to plan accordingly. So ladies, who's coming with me? I need some company.
  11. Chanel Honey, Advertising as an SP is like having investments... you have to diversify your advertising. I'm not sure if you just advertise here but that is not going to cut it if you are looking for stable appts everyday or even just a couple of times a week. You also have to continually create a stronger presence for yourself whether it's through multiple adult sites and/or a website. There are free websites that cater to the adult industry. When I returned to the business I really wasn't thrilled with advertising on CL but I gave it a try. While I have changed my schedule from what it used to be a few years ago to accomodate other obligations in my life, I have also switched gears by catering to a different group of clients by offering half hours which I never did before. It was always 1 hour appts. I honestly thought CL was going to be bad but I have met some really nice clients there and they have been gentlemen to me. Sure, there are some times wasters, no shows and the wassup guys but those people are easy to identify. I rarely encounter them. You should give it a try. You have nothing to lose. Also take into account that July and August are the slowest times of the year while September and October have always been the busiest. You also create your own world whether it's postive or negative energy. Try to keep a positive attitude.
  12. Hotels want to be able to do an imprint on the card and those prepaid cards do not have the raised numbers like they do on credit cards issued by Visa, Mastercard, Amex, etc. I have a regular credit card and then I have one of those prepaid ones for online shopping and it has raised numbers on it. I had heard of the problems surrounding these prepaid cards at hotels/renting a car so I tried the prepaid one I had with the raised numbers and the person at the front desk didn't say anything. And then I rented a car another time with no problems. The only difference with regular credit cards and prepaid is that with prepaid once something is charged, it is taken off the card immediatley unlike other credit cards. Not sure why hotels worry about these prepaid cards. I know where to get the prepaid one with the raised numbers on it. PM me.
  13. The 5 O'clock shadow can leave pain lasting for days. Beards are okay I guess as long as they don't look like one Santa Claus would have. LOL.
  14. Another fear of mine is going into cemetaries. I start to get anxiety attacks. I think it has do with being in a car accident and realizing I'm still here instead of there. Secondly, you will never catch me on any rollercoaster.
  15. You are bang on Sabrina. I went out to lunch at Subway last week and 3 minutes into driving down the street I had to go back because someone wanted to see me. And just like every Monday, today was a good day. I am happy. :) As for Thursdays, I have to change that somehow. LOL.
  16. I cannot push elevator buttons with my fingers, touch garbage cans in public places and open door handles with my sleeve. Going into a bathroom stall is a big thing and I use toilet paper on the seat. Using cutlery at another person's house I have a problem with as well but I still do it so I don't look stupid. I wash my hands about 15 times a day. Not sure if I have a problem but compared to a few years ago, I am not as bad as I used to be. I've hired a cleaning lady to come to my house every week because I no longer have the time to clean. She's good but nowhere near what I would like it to be but I think that is the OCD in me. I am also terrified of clowns.
  17. I always used to dread the packing and the unpacking. i would also bring to much as well and turns out I never even used it. lol.
  18. Afterall, we are proividing a service and technically you could compare it to some other types of businesses/ services. It's not like scott is asking how much money we make or how many clients we see in a day. That would be rude. I would have to say that Monday and Friday are the busiest with Tuesday coming in second place. For some reason Thursdays can be dead. Not sure about weekends because I am not around. Fridays are busy because of compressed work weeks and people just happening to leave early for the weekend. Angela and I are like hockey players. We have cultivated our own certain set of rituals and superstitions when it comes to receiving and booking appts on one of those days when it is dead. And they always work! One of them is to call Carrie Moon. LOL. 2 minutes into the conversation the phone rings and an appt is booked. Thanks Carrie!:-D
  19. I got 24/25 right except for how many curves in a paperclip. Damn!! There were a few that I had to think about that you would never have thought of before like the buttons on a woman's blouse, are they ont he right or left. I actually had to envision myself buttoning up one of my blouses to see which side they would be on. LOL. Thanks for the link. :) I am guess I am a very observant person.
  20. I think the closet hote/motel in terms of theme rooms would be in Kingston. Can't remember the name of the motel. Is it Fireside motel? many people have told me about it but have never visited there.
  21. Hello Gentlemen, I plan on visiting St. John's but not sure when. Hopefully before the end of 2010. Can anyone recommend a good place to stay? Stayed once at a Best Western there. I'd be coming from Ottawa. I love visiting the rock!!!
