I suffer from a mild case of rosacea on my cheeks but it is pretty much gone after taking a prescribed pill and laser treatments. I dont like to wear a lot of makeup during the day. I wear sunscreen with zinc oxide, a creamy makeup primer and a light liquid foundation with light eye shadow in beiges and pinks with rosy colored lipstick and mascara. For nighttime and I'm not outside, I like to do smokey eye makeup. I dont use a lot,of,translucent powder because it makes my face,look dry. Posted via Mobile Device

Being a compassionate person with my clients, I find it good for them to open up to me whether it's beforehand letting me know of their concerns especially if they feel vulnerable or nervous as opposed to not being open where self preservation is concerned. In sessions, I always try to make the client feel comfortable but if there was something bothering them or something wasn't happening because for various reasons in their life and I didn't know about it, I would be perplexed. As long as I know I did my best to make the client feel comfortable and welcome, there is only a certain point because I'm not an intrusive person either. It also helps to find a provider and have a conversation on the phone so you can gain an idea of what their personality is like. I do this with clients and instantly I have an idea of what they will be like and I'm usually right. If I don't like what I hear, I excuse myself and decline the appointment. I will always give the client a chance to communicate their fears, doubts or worries. I don't find this being needy. What I would find needy is someone not respecting my time or not knowing the boundaries outside of a session or constantly emailing or texting wanting to talk. When a client communicates up front, I am able to know how to provide them with the session that they are looking for rather than it being a guessing game. A client is always worth the effort especially if you have a chance to help them with whatever it is they are going through but also respect the lady's boundaries at the same time.

I met Princess Diana as part of Girl Guides years ago when she visited Canada and she was definitely an Earth Angel. I use this term because she had this childlike, empathetic quality about her towards others but I could also sense she was in a constant tug of war with the media and her work for mankind like she wanted to be herself but couldn't because of the pressure from being a public figure. Looking back, she had this higher vibration about her like she really was here to give love and compassion to those here on Earth. I believe she was a light worker but I digress. She had given a lot to the world other than the dress she was wearing but because she had that loving, compassionate qualities for mankind, this radiated even more when you would see her in the media. When a person is beautiful on the inside, it has to choice but to show itself on the outside. This is simply Diana. The media is all about ego based thoughts and fake. By all accounts, Diana raised and instilled good values in Prince William and Prince Harry. Princess Kate was raised in a very grounded loving family and I'm sure they will continue to do the same for their new family. Her parents would never just let her be a public figure for the fashion world. There is more to that family than meets the eye. Sometimes watching t.v. now is just b.s lol. There is more to life than just what someone is wearing. I'm sure this little baby will grow up to be a smart, compassionate and caring woman.

This is always a losing battle. In every business bad companies and/or people will always exist. While it is frustrating, there is nothing you can do. People will do some pretty low down and dirty things to get ahead but it won't be for long term. These people will be exposed as those who aren't good to do business with and the more they scheme, the more they think they can get away with it. Their arrogance towards what they think they are getting away with will ALWAYS trip them up eventually but one day they will meet their match. I won't get into the specifics of what some people do to get clients ( i.e undercutting) as that has been a sore subject for me in the past and have had to let it go. Like yourself, I am experienced in this business and have seen the changes before my very own eyes. However, like I said people who are unsavory do not stick around long term in the business or any business for that matter. The fly by nights will always only have short term gain and have to keep moving. The ones who win are those business people who focus on themselves and what they have to offer to their clientele. It is inevitable by doing so will garner them a favorable reputation. In the long run this will work in your favor and on your terms that your clients will respect. There may be clients who go and see these type of business people and lose money in the short term because they are thinking they will be getting a good deal or the situation looks appealing but there is always a caveat with the crowd you mentioned and that is the examples you listed above. Focus on yourself and who you want to attract. By maintaining the positives in your business, there will be no choice but to give back what you have projected to your clientele. I promise by doing so, it will come back in a very nice way that is always surprising. ;)

I agree! I have a throw away phone for work to keep costs down so it doesn't even have an image plan but I've got a good phone at least. I tell them this to those guys who ask for this sort of thing. What I do to keep these people at bay is like you said with the positive energy. When there is something I don't want, I will rephrase my comment about this in my ad. I should probably update my website too. lol. Instead of saying "I will not give out pictures on request", I will say "The pictures on my ad and/or website are the only ones I have. I take it you know from your previous comments that you know what you put out is what you attract when you mentioned positive vibes, etc. When a person says they don't want something, that's all the universe hears and it will give you that exact match. So I think it and rephrase in a way that it comes back to me favorably. The same with negotiating. Instead of saying "Rates are non- negotiable", I say "Rates are Firm". By doing this, it has cut down on the WOTS including the ones who ask for pictures. lol. "Rates are Firm" or "Pictures are only available on website/ads" is a more positive one that will attract the clients who respect this. I study law of attraction way too much often listening for a few hours everyday lol but it has helped me significantly in terms of maintaining a positive attitude and as a result has changed every aspect of my life. I still have my moments but they are less now and I'm able to deal with it a lot faster.

What I've noticed especially about living in Ottawa as opposed to other cities ( lived in Toronto for a while) is that we are more considerate by holding the door when going in or out of a store or letting someone through in traffic. In my past experiences, when Americans realized I lived in Canada, they either think you live in an igloo or are very friendly because they've spent time here and know how we are as a whole. I've heard from ladies who toured there that American men like when they come down to visit. I remember watching a piece when I was going to school hosted by Rick Mercer ( This Hour Has 22 Minutes) "Talking to Americans". Apparently George W. Bush didn't know much about us either. lol. I'm not bashing Americans but just found it humorous. Prime Minister Tim Horton.. LMAO! Going to France, they like Canadians there as well. I've been to Germany and had a good experience there as well as a Canadian. We're like another version of neutrality. We are like Switzerland!

<p>Went to Toronto and was uptown and passed my old condo on Eglinton Ave near Mount Pleasant. The airport strip in Toronto is another one that holds fond memories for me. I hosted my first client there using my own hotel room and was nervous as hell! I had never hosted a client using my own location. Lol

Having a session finish at the correct time and they ask to use the shower and are in there for 15 minutes!!! Talk about taking full advantage! I had to knock on the door to tell them they have to get out of shower. I use another lady's location and she is about to come home and I have to make her wait in the parking lot. That isn't fair. I was also starting to get suspicious as to why they were in there so long with the shower going. Those are people I will NEVER rebook with! While I'm not a clock-watcher but a half hour and shower and out the door is 35 mins to me, not 45 or 50. I know I'm preaching to the choir but that ticked me off! No consideration for other people.
