  6. Things have changed a lot since I became involved in this activity. It might have always been this way and I just didn't know the extent of it. There have been local girls who have either been forced out or had to go underground in order to operate. There's no doubt it's jealousy and frankly $$$. On one hand I'm a supporter of the local community but on the other hand like any business if the local community can't provide what the buyers want then they will look elsewhere which certainly seems to be what has happened here. Is it the nature of the beast? Perhaps it is. Too bad as some good providers and good clients will fade way when it becomes too much hassle. Peace MG
  7. I don't condone this but am a little surprised it actually doesn't happen more often and in other centers as well. In this market popular newbies will sometimes see a rash slanderous comments rumours and innuendo and bookings made and cancelled as well as no shows. As we seem to have a no-show reputation I would expect some travelers would have had similar experiences as well. One just needs to look at our local e/c VIP ads to see that of 21 ads 4 are local. And of 45 ads in the SP section almost half are travelers. I think one can conclude that a large volume of hobbyist dollars are flowing out of province. Add in the proliferation of hit and runners on sites like b...pa--, combined with a smallish hobbyist market games are bound to be played. Saying that, there's obviously a market for travelers here or they wouldn't visit. Peace MG
  8. I have a few different handles and use them in different situations and for differing reasons. I rarely contact some one via CERB PM and never in chat. Peace MG
  9. Glen Campbell......prior to making it big he was a highly sought out session player. George Harrison....underrated. Chet Atkins.....hasn't been mentioned I don't think. Jonny Lang Kenny Wayne Shepherd Peace MG
  10. Not much for rules generally in my real life or my pretend life. In both I fully understand there are consequences of my actions and I've been prepared to live with those. I don't review a site for anything other than a fee schedule and a gallery. Both can confirm or deny my overall interest. After that it comes down to how some one responds to an inquiry. I never ask about specific services as my experience is it will inevitably come down to the chemistry between two people. The response to my inquiry is my screener. If no response or minimal effort is put into the reply then my interest is gone and I move along. If I'm dismissed for not following rules it's quite likely I never saw them in the first place. Peace MG
  11. Mine are up and on all year, makes it simpler and adds nice colours year round. Peace MG
  12. Seems pretty simple...avoid those certain "review" boards or if you really feel strongly about this make your feeling(s) and opinions known on them. Peace MG
  13. It's a mute point as negative comments aren't allowed here. So you must be referring to other Boards. Peace MG
  14. In my view it's inherently not a level playing field and due diligence and communication has become even more critical. Peace MG
  15. Hmmmm...I was in the running until the "Gentlemen" part :))) Peace MG
  16. I guess I'm sort of ambidextrous about it. Peace MG
  17. Not married and never have been but with with my SO for more than 27 years. Nothing against the institution but it never seemed to fit us. Perhaps having kids would have made it different. But we didn't so it isn't. Peace MG
  18. For me the finale was almost letter perfect. I'm very satisfied. Lots of good good stuff. Like The Wire it's great not to overstay one's welcome..... as Dexter show runners did. Peace MG
  19. I'm afraid that ship sailed a few years ago. Much more of a social board like facebook as anything else now. Peace MG
  20. I think most if not all SP's would prefer some form of regular client base. I think like most businesses it's more costly in time, effort and advertising to develop a new customer than it costs to keep a regular one. Asked for advice once, I suggested that if one can develop a bit of a regular base client then that allows flexibility and some one can be more selective about services offered their price point and whom they offer their services to. Just like any business at 8:00 Monday morning the costs whether it's salary, rent, travel etc start accumulating. Everyone has a nut to crack and determining goals is helpful. Is it a part-time gig to top up income, is a full-time gig to pay bills and put food on the table. Is it temporary or a career path. Ultimately it's money in, money out like any other business. To sum up, I would not request special consideration as a regular and if some one's listed rate is out of my personal comfort zone, there is no need for a conversation about it. Peace MG
  21. "Many of the SPs and their handlers who do this stuff see absolutely nothing wrong with it. They consider it a normal business strategy. This really makes me mad....hard to bite my tongue but this is not the place! " That would and has put some on my personal no-fly list. Peace MG
