  1. My reference is to the 3rd Canadian Division who were fighting the Nazis in The Netherlands. The Germans flooded the ground to slow or drown the Canadians. The Canadians overcame adversity. The Nazis called them water rats. The Canadians kept the moniker. My dad was one of them. Years later I saw a veteran's licence plate and it paid homage to them too. He was not there but I still left a thank you note.
  2. To RG's point, when I eat right, loose weight and exercise a lot of problems go away. Need to remind myself of this as we approach Christmas. This year due to construction on my street many trick or treaters stayed away. I had a lot of hard candy that what not handed out. I put it in my storage locker - out of sight out of tummy. RG I am glad that you came out of the TIA without negative effects.
  3. I read on another board that she had retired.
  4. Fresh rosemary, a little kosher salt and fresh pepper. Simple is better.
  5. Thanks for posting that Emily. A few years ago I invited my gf to go to a spa that had a hot tub. I chatted with the owner in advance and she recommended an MA who was comfortable with couples. The MA was tiny compared to us (both around 6') but she put us both at ease. My gf had always been curious. She loved the experience. I was traveling a lot at the time and so my gf and I would go for weeks without seeing each other. To keep things hot, I would write her short stories. They ones that reminded her of that day were the best (in her opinion). So I thoroughly agree with the author, couples therapy can take different forms.
  6. There are a lot of underlying issues that can cause back pain. It is wise to seek medical attention to identify the cause. I am fortunate that my back pain was not disc related. I have been pain free after seeing a medicine man (yes my heritage is part First Nations). He massaged the area, identified that I had spasms not a disc issue (later confirmed by an MRI) gave be exercises to strengthen my core, stretching exercises to perform in the shower in the morning (squats with arms outstretched) and told me to add magnesium citrate. My hamstrings are really tight and so stretching is really important to me. I spoke with my yoga instructor and there are some positions that I do not do and others that I modify.
  7. Carpet cleaner broke down. Water and detergent were dispensed but there was no suction. $100 for repair. Oh I guess this is a thing that does not suck... but not in a good way.
  8. Not sure BlackDog, but the website has not been updated recently.
  9. I agree about the advocacy, but Jody Wilson-Reybold was given a mandate letter to revisit all the criminalization, mandatory minimums etc. But she has done very little as Minister of Justice. The cannabis question was given to Anne McLellan a former justice minister and Bill Blair. While doing incredibly little, she has still managed to visit South Africa, which under Zuma is an example of what not to do in terms of rule of law. Even nominations to superior courts have moved at a snail's pace. She has about six months to introduce some bills and get her house in order. If not it will be "too close to an election" to do anything.
  10. A few years back there was an incident in the early hours of the morning. It is not at the same level of decor etc as Pigalle across the street - more plywood, less finished drywall lol If you go during the day or early evening it is ok. Mileage is best in the afternoon.
  11. The lads who go regimental when wearing a kilt, find it more comfortable not to be completely shaved.
  12. Just picked up 40kg of salt and 20 of salt sand mix - driveway is a mess, but then so is my street. I do not remember so many freezing rain events in a year. With climate change it seems that we will get more.
  13. I have hd the pleasure of meeting Sabrina several times. I agree with what others have said, but I would also add that she is a great conversationalist. Some may not consider that to be essential, but I think that most would agree it is a plus. So in addition to a great massage, the connection with Sabrina is superb.
  14. So we have heard how the gents feel about ladies tan lines. But how do the ladies feel about the gents? There are of course the beach guys with extensive tans. Then there is the infamous "farmer's tan", the shirtless construction worker's tan, the "I wear shorts and no socks (even If I should not)" tan and as I learned after the Glengarry Highland Games the "kilt tan" I will leave that to Kilt Boy to explain in further detail :)
  15. I agree, we need to adopt another description. TO say hobby dehumanizes the interaction with MA/SP. I have been in countries where the relationship is more or less mechanical, but my experience in Canada has been one of companionship and pleasure. The positive recommendations that one reads on this site generally have a common theme - that there was a connection. Men are seeking a girlfriend experience, not simply a physical one. Thank you, Summer, for your observation. It has made me think and to change my language.
  16. I have not been to a strip club in a few years, as other have said the MA option is preferable if you are looking for "mileage". That said, there was a club that recently burnt down after closing hours that was known for more private "champagne" rooms where high mileage was the norm. Another similar establishment on highway 40 was torn down (according to reports the landlord's wife did not appreciate how much time her hubby was spending there). I have never asked for nor initiated any contact at a strip club. But at these two the women took the lead. At Taboo some of the dancers also took the lead. All of this was before the adoption of C-36, as I have not been back since.
  17. I have found that it takes a special, confident woman to ask for help with a zipper. Not long ago I attended an exhibit at the Musée des Arts décoratifs decimated to the button. I learned that moving buttons from the back of a dress to the front was a major liberating experience for women as they no longer required a servant to act as a "dresser". Perhaps we find a long zip at the back to be so sexually charged because it signals a need for (male) assistance (or contortion). Whatever the reason, I have found that many women do not want help "I can do it myself". What they fail to understand is the sensuality involved and the pleasure of the kiss at the nape of the neck that should accompany the up or down of the zip. In the case of the latter the kiss should not be singular, it should be one of many ending at "la chute des reins". Which may lead to an even more pleasurable evening.
  18. Sometimes it is not because she has nothing else to do and it is more that she is not worried about 1000 other things that kill the mood. Vacations are great for being able to focus on each other. Unfortunately, the other 50 weeks of the year if we do not focus on pleasure and passion we become hard, cold and resentful. Add to that hormonal changes and date nights become an awkward chore. Visiting an MP, SP is less complicated than having an affair and if other parts of the marriage are ok and it keeps the marriage together, it is a lot cheaper and traumatic than divorce.
  19. The ad campaign may be repetitive, but it is an important message. This is a curable cancer, if detected early. I recently had pain and saw red. Went to emerg because the pain was too much to wait 4 days to see my family doctor. BP and pulse were high, did a CT scan and found a large stone. It was successfully removed and all is good. Just don't put it off. If you see red, see the doc. The only lingering side effect is that I will be out of action for a while :icon_frown:
  20. Thanks for sharing this. These experiences are not always easy but support like yours can help people.
  21. Good for you on wearing the kilt. I have done the -20c in January in a kilt too. Knees were a little chilly but as for the rest, well let's just say that curious ladies made up for it. The funniest thing is explaining a kilt tan - knees above the hose... As for my CERB name - it is a sign of remembrance for the 3rd Canadian Division - who the Nazi's tried to bog down in the Schelt. Like water rats the Canadians just kept on pushing on!
  22. According to the Journal de Montreal the bar was empty at the time of the fire. The Sûreté du Québec has opened an investigation.
  23. The Minister of Justice received a mandate letter from the PM. In it there were a number of priorities. First on the list was assisted death legislation, second was missing and murdered indigenous women and girls. Fourth was to review the changes to our criminal justice system made by the pervious government. Bill C-36 is likely to be addressed in the review of changes to the criminal justice system. A single bill is possible, it would address the minimum sentencing requirements (recently struck down) as well. I expect that the inquiry into MMIWG will also make comments on C-36 and whether or not it places sex workers at greater risk than an alternative approach. The new government is movie with deliberate speed (caution). If the response to physician assisted death is any indication, one can expect legislative proposals that satisfy nobody but don't really annoy the majority.
