  1. It all becomes more complicated with the stay in Bedford v. Canada (Atty Gen). Lots has been said about the case here so I will not repeat. However, if you are a police chief looking at where you are going to apply scarce resources, you are not going to invest the time it takes to investigate and prosecute an SP or MP with the likelihood that the court is going to throw the case out on the same constitution grounds as Bedford. Much better to concentrate on "guns and gangs" and cases where there are community complaints. If, of course, an SP or MP creates a nuisance then there will be a call to investigate.
  2. Mod, Thanks for all the hard work on our behalf. We appreciate what you do, even if we do not always say so. WR
  3. Sorry, I looked but did not see it Additional Comments: Sorry, I looked but did not see it
  4. So it is the time to think about out resolutions. Some cerbites are in fantastic physical condition (most of them are ladies imho). Some of us guys, well we could use some help. so here is my start. 1) Lay off the beer and other empty calories - I know it is a food group in Belgium but the banned Blue. 2) 3 push backs a day. No not push ups - push back, as in push back from the table. 3) Vigorous sex for at least an hour a day - every day (with a lady). Feel free to add suggestions.
  5. The difficulty in Ontario is that zoning is a blunt instrument. We need more nuances. Most people would not object to a commercial art gallery. But they might not feel the same way about an office tower. We need to be able to distinguish between commercial artesianal small retail and other retail, between retail and office space, between restaurants and pubs etc. Many people would be happy to see a "local" pub on the corner provided that there was no on street parking issue, limited off street parking and closing was not at 3 am. It would give people a place to WALK to rather then drink and drive. In the same way a small gallery would be fine but neighbours do not want a residential street being taken over by scores of cars attending a vernissage every month.
  6. Cutting snow removal is short sighted. The city has certain obligations as the occupant of the land (streets and sidewalks). If the city does not maintain to a reasonable standard and someone is injured (slip and fall or automobile accident) the city will be liable. The damages will easily exceed the savings. The City of Ottawa has a number of options for cost savings. Transfers of our tax dollars to special interest groups is one. Better contacting practices is another. A third is the reduction of crew sizes. We are all familiar with the 3:1 ratio - three supervisors to one person working. Police Services Board is undemocratic. It should be directly elected by the people and be responsible to the people. Today police resources are directed by a few councillors to their pet concerns. In a democratic model the board would be answerable for decisions made as to priorities and costs.
  7. Thank you LoraLee for adding to our body of knowledge. As always you are an amazing person.
  8. Perhaps the community should consider donations (like Wikipedia). Need to find a discrete way to collect them like ccbill. I for one would make a donation.
  9. I agree with what has been said. The facilities are very modern and clean. The shower is great - lots of hot water. The towels are fresh and very good quality. Staff are very pleasant. I had a sore neck the day I went in and asked the attendant to work on the muscles in my neck/shoulder area. She used the right amount of pressure and I felt much better. 10. Not sure about here, but had it once in South America
  11. I am sorry that this happened to you. There are so many ways that cards get compromised. The worst as said above is identity theft. Until we accept that we need to use a biometric we will continue to see this happen. I use a biometric card for border crossings - it is fast and convenient. For safety the card which has RFID, is stored in a foil pouch when not needed.
  12. Yes, I wear my safety belt and I am very active - I jump out of perfectly good airplanes for fun, I go scuba diving when ever I can - even if there are sharks around, and I regularly travel to places with tropical diseases and people who kidnap/murder people for a living - but just like roamingguy I am going to live to 79 ...
  13. The facilities at Paradise are very clean and modern. The towels are thick and new. The showers had lots of hot water, shampoo, body wash etc. The reception staff were friendly.
  14. Hmm I have heard of the scam where you get a massive charge if you call them (like the phone sex numbers) but not if you just receive the call. I will be sure to watch my bill. I would like to ignore blocked calls and "unknown #" but I get legit calls from overseas that show up that way.
  15. Had a similar call today. They wanted to offer me Cialis or Levitra. I hung up on them. Like I would give them a credit card number? Surprisingly people still fall for these. Pisses me off that it was a call to my cell - I pay for incoming calls.
  16. Mod, Thanks for the hard work in getting Cerb back on line
  17. Anyone know the name of the blonde French speaking lady who seems to be there most afternoons? Big breasted, mature?
  18. I made the switch to Mac 6 years ago. In a corporate environment I found it to be extremely compatible. I have had a few third party hardware issues but they are very few. I found the machines to be reliable and when I have had a problem, the service at the Apple store has been great. I agree about the 15 vs 17 inch screen. When I need a larger screen I connect to an external monitor. The Apple ones are great but so are many others. On the mouse - I love the magic mouse. It makes right clicking easy and the sweep motions add a lot of utility.
  19. CBC Morning Radio interviewed POWER (Prostitutes of Ottawa-Gatineau Work Educate & Resist) this morning regarding its report that will be issued later today. Excellent advocates. This was followed by a piece on a Montreal woman who had been assaulted by police in 1987 and was charged with assault as a result. The producers at CBC are bringing light to a story that has been ignored for too long. Our sex work laws were historically used as a mechanism to control women. Let us remember that women were not considered to be "persons" in this country a century ago. THey could not control their own property, vote or hold the office of a judge. All of these things have changed. We have a woman as Chief Justice, we have had (briefly) a woman as Prime Minister and twice as Governor General. Yet we continue to subjugate women in many areas. In "blue collar" workplaces it can still be tougher for women. The police departments are examples. It is a small minority of police officers who behave as those who did in mistreating Ms Bonds. It does not matter, even one bully is too many. We need to take away one of the tools at their disposition - the antiquated prostitution laws that are used to control and abuse. At the same time we need to educate. Tolerance, acceptance and caring for our fellow residents of the city should be the tone set by the rank and file. The Chief of the Ottawa Police Service is doing his part. The police union needs to follow his lead. Society (today polls suggest that we are evenly split) has to accept that there is a place for sex workers. That they deserve protection not harassment. Politicians too need to follow that lead. Only then will be be able to say that we are truly a tolerant and caring society. Part of the "social compact" must also include responsibility on the part of sex related businesses and their customers. Most already do this, but not all. I remember volunteering to help clean the playground and parking lot at a daycare that was 500m from a strip club. Every Sunday we would clean up the condoms and wrappers that had been left there by "patrons" from Friday and Saturday night. The staff of the daycare did it on week days. That behaviour encourages disproportionate reaction. Let's respect each other and learn to live together - the first steps are to repeal repressive laws and to show responsibility - on the part of the industry, it customers and police. As a child I was taught to trust police officers. Generally that has been true. Unfortunately, the unionization of our police departments has led to an environment where bullies are protected and flourish. We need to end this. We need transparency in the operation of police departments. We should not fear our police authorities or any part of our government. Police officers need to ask themselves about their actions "how will this look if I am videotaped and this shows up on Youtube?".
  20. The DSM IV (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) does not recognize Sexual Addiction. The DSM is a living document and its next edition is due in 2013. There is a working group looking at the inclusion of Sexual Addiction. Since a sex drive and associated behaviours is common to all mammals it complicates the characterization of many behaviours as an addiction. Many professionals find that in those who display the behaviours that we associate with "sexual addiction" are in fact compulsive behaviours. In some studies the same pharmacological treatments used to help patients cope with OCD are effective in coping with "sexual addiction". It is also seen as a symptom of bi-polar disorder and mania in schizoaffective disorder. That said it is not a diagnosis of either just as a cough is not a diagnosis of pneumonia. In sum the "jury is still out" on this issue. Unfortunately this leaves the field open to a lot of charlatans who would be happy to take your money to follow their "program" of treatment. Unfortunately this has been the case in dealing with issues of sexuality since at least Victorian times. Be it electric shocks to stop nocturnal emissions, or interventions to "cure" homosexuality. Be cautious. If you feel signs of compulsion that you cannot control and these are having an effect on your life - by all means consult a professional.
  21. On a Mac mini there is an HDMI port. On most laptops there is a "mini display" port to which you can connect an adapter to get HDMI (without audio). Then use the headphone jack to plug audio into your TV.
  22. This is great news for all sex workers and their clients. The Crown will probably appeal but the reports on the reasons show that it is a very considered decision. The reference to the evils of the current law (Robert Pickford's victims) will make it hard for any judges at the Court of Appeal to overturn it. A Prime Minister who showed true moral leadership would stand up in the House and announce his intention to repeal the sections of the CCC in question.
  23. Cato, All depends upon what you are looking for. From what I have heard, most guys who go to Vikings or to Costa Rica find that they pair up pretty quickly. If you are looking for a buffet that is different every day then there are other options - ones that get better if you speak a bit of the local language, or at lease some Spanish. PM me if you want more info.
  24. This has been an interesting thread. I agree about the ranking in terms of mileage and also the comments about preferring SP's if one is looking for more "meaningful" time. I would also add a caution. My experience is that a dancer who has provided higher mileage seems to expect that the customer will return to her when she is in. She may go so far as to let the other dancers know to stay away. I have seen this same "ownership" in other cities too.
  25. Was recently in Windsor for a week. Having spent to much spare time at the Casino (which is amazing btw) I decided that it would be a nice break to see Naughty Angel. We first made contact through PM and then a phone call. She arrived at my room on time and dressed very conservatively. After a brief introduction she excused herself and went to the washroom. When she reappeared she was wearing a very sexy bustier that made the most of her luscious breasts. She started by offering me a massage. It was ok but not great. Then the flip and she started with a CBJ and some gentle teasing. she is really an expert at that. A CBJ bought a fantastic finish. A different but very enjoyable experience. This is a young lady who knows how to please a man in different ways. Repeat yes:boobeyes:
