I'm still working on my niceness skills and I'll be the first to admit that I can stumble when understanding the rules of CERB. I've noticed the occasional suspension or banning so I guess I'm in good company. I've read Mod's stickies and rules of conduct, but somehow I'm still not sure what can specifically draw ire and reprisal. Can anyone offer opinions about what kind of activity would warrant rep points reduction, suspension, banning? Are there other nasty remedies? Actually what happens during suspension or banning...the individual can't post anything?

Actually, I really liked your post because it get's down to the emotions that drives a lot of us. I sympathize. It royally sucks, but what can you do? Try not to take it personally. Maybe she's away or easily distracted or has a lot of other emails to respond....a lot of what-ifs. Try pinging her again maybe she lost your original email? Good luck!

Cat - a very moving and eloquent argument. There are facets of a providers life that I didn't quite appreciate - and I thank you for expanding your views on a clearly sensitive subject. I don't think a violation of a DNR policy has a connection to the SPs ability to sue for liable or slander. This point re-visits the earlier discussion on law and what represents an actionable case. In this instance, while Mark was not a client, Valerie and he had a contractual relationship. Ultimately the relationship went sour and was terminated due to breach of contact. Valerie asked for restitution and Mark chose to do harm in return. I think that's known as a detrimental relationship in law. Next, Mark made statements in a public forum which he knew to be untrue because (at least with the disclosure so far) he did not experience an SP/client relationship with Valerie. Therefore any statements he may have made with respect to an SP/client relationship are considered tainted...untrue, non-editorial and slanderous in that context. There was malicious intent. The test for slander does not have to prove or account that financial harm was done - however, that is probably arguable in this case. There are other criteria. It would be interesting to see how the judgment was worded.

It sounds like this guy decided to take a cheap shot and strike the SP where they are most vulnerable (hell, where we're all vulnerable). To try and go public and do a number on someone's business, identity, reputation is really low - I think he got what he deserved. But, in a way, the damage is done. From the sounds of it, Mod was contacted by Valerie so that this info could be posted on this board (a semi-public forum) either as a warning to others not to cross paths with Valerie or as an object lesson in stupidity. Whatever. While I don't think the guys here sympathize much with Mark, I do believe guys will be wary of doing business with the SP - not because she's being judged to be a bad person, but because of the litigation itself. Risk by association. Don't get me wrong, the guy shot himself in the parts and got his comeupance. Nasty business all around.:roll:

The SP in question has always (to the best of my recollection) objected to reviews of any sort. Other boards requested that the membership not review this SP for the very reason noted in the posted article. The Mods would pull any reviews or even any reference to her. As a result, she was sometimes referred to by other names (sometimes derogatory) - anything but her SP name. This seemed to by-pass the NRP for this SP. As long as the reviewer referred to her by a different name...well, you get the idea.

Passmore, There seems to be general concern with this lady on this and other boards. Can you share your first-hand experience?

Do I find the term offensive?...somewhat. The word "John" is used as a personalized (and stigmatized) label. In that context, it becomes an insult. But, like most folks, I need a point of reference and I guess this is the best we can do. I find the word "prostitute" to be more offensive because it is often used in the pejorative sense. It carries a deeper meaning than just indicating someone involved in the sex trade. It casts moral aspersions. It depersonalizes and instantly smears someone in the industry. "Sex trade worker" is at least a more direct and descriptive term.

I don't think there was anything mean spirited intended here Irwin. I was wondering how it could happen myself...y'know, the once burned, twice shy thing. Arazok's answer was educational because I now know some of the methods used by these scammers. I think folks are genuinely interested in the details of how the scam was perpetrated so they can learn from someone else's experience. Just my read on it anyway.

As a customer, I always get an attack of nerves just prior to the appointment. I can't explain it. I've hobbied for years and I still get jumpy and start to pace, palms sweat and I get paranoid about people watching what I'm doing. My mind loves to play mind-fuck games with me. Stupid eh? So, here's my questions. If I'm like this after all these years, what is it like for our lovely SPs/MAs? What was it like to receive your 1st customer ....man, I don't know if I could get the courage up to do your job. Or if you've been doing this awhile, do you get a case of the nerves or thrill or do you just accept this as a job - the same as any other occupation?

I guess one should hang it up if the biz doesn't give you a buzz anymore. But if the criteria is strictly age, I would feel uncomfortable seeing a lady in her 50s. That being said, I've experienced Lilli-Love and she's in her mid-50s I think. The energy of that lady is unbelievable - she could suck a bowling ball through a straw!! :cooter: I've only been with her once though.

Those tags are like the grossest things ever invented. No kidding!! They make me want to scream like a little girl and yak my cookies:shock: They stick-out the back and are really disturbing. Good point to bring up Isabella. I've spoken about the extra time issue with a few MAs/SPs. Without a doubt, it's very frustrating when some customers deliberately take up extra time. It's inconsiderate and arrogant to assume they have a right to take up some else's time. They could be taking over another client's scheduled timeslot too. I've been reminded about the time on a few occasions. While it's mildly annoying, I accept that I've paid for a certain period and that I need to get down to it during that time. My $0.02?...I would risk a polite reminder. If the client gets huffy - he's probably not worth keeping as a repeat client. On the other hand, is there a reasonable middleground, say 5min. more or less?
