  1. As I suspected, I regret asking the question (smile). I respect your positions. As a conservative in the U.S., I would have a blast exploring them all, but I'm going to steer clear. Maybe if there are separate threads on some of these topics, I would chime in. For instance, it would be fun to debate the whole topic of "social justice" (whatever the hell that is ... smile) with my friend SA, but not here and not now. Now, back to your regularly scheduled Harper-bashing program!
  2. That's an interesting comment. I wonder if its worth actively posting when people drop off. I know that happens with the ladies. From my perspective, because no one who knows me is aware that I post, and since most of the folks here on cerb are anonymous, you really do drop off the radar if you dont post.
  3. I'm probably going to regret asking, but I cant resist: why should the goverment pay, using your tax money, for someone else's health care? Shouldn't that be their responsibility?
  4. Actually I understand that the tin foil crown prefers a certain product that my company sells as an important insulator accessory. however, I dont think that's a big enough market to go after (smile).
  5. Manitoba -- obviously, no, you aren't expecting too much and sorry to hear of your troubles. There's a lot of variables in what you are describing ... As to what to do, that has been widely discussed here in other threads ... Hopefully you are having a higher rate of success with the ladies of Cerb?
  6. Lunch or dinner. Nuff said. Its all about talking and getting to know each other.
  7. That definitely is a set of pictures worth a thousand words! Coke! Like Porsche, there is no substitute!
  8. I always try to do this after a visit ... It's a great idea if it's a sincere note and it allows me to continue a bit of a rapport post-meeting (not that we have to become best pen-pals). But I don't always get a response from the lady ... Maybe about 2/3 of the time I do. I think some of the ladies may be a bit concerned that it's going to become an endless string of e-mails that they will be obliged to respond to, so the Guys need to understand that an hour or two of "intense excitement" (smile) doesn't mean weeks of e-mails. Maybe that's a bit cynical, but it's first thing in the morning and maybe I just need more coffee!
  9. Many congratulations Charlotte! I enjoy your posts as much as I have enjoyed our visits ... Keep up the good work!
  10. I spent a lot of my first posts here providing information (hopefully valuable) and letting people get to know me a bit. Its tough starting out, but like virtually everything in life you will get out of it what you put into it.
  11. Repectfully, for anything and everything. Its the uncertainly, and the huge potential issues it could create, that makes it a non-starter for me. As Pistol Peter and others have pointed out, this issue is likely to rarely, if ever, actually present a problem for an established cerb member making an appointment vis cerb.
  12. Wow ... People are getting really cranky. To the guys: don't argue with the ladies over this ... They have every right to make this a requirement, and I understand why having heard many stories from the ladies that make me shiver or at least make me look at the floor in disbelief that a guy could be that mean. As I said, I would never complain about a lady insisting on this; I would simply, and respectfully, choose not to see her. To the ladies: don't argue with the guys that want to be discrete and not share that information. And I would never ask a lady for their personal information. And don't denigrate guys who have a legitimate concern about privacy. Comparing privacy (guys) versus safety (gals) is an apples to oranges comparison and neither can claim a higher moral ground BUT both need to be equally, and completely, respected.
  13. I agree completely ... the mental attraction is the most important thing. Out of that comes a feeling of comfort and intimacy, and the rest comes naturally.
  14. That's why I always give my first name (smile). And I definitely agree about blocked numbers being a problem for the ladies ... That would make me nervous too.
  15. With respect, absolutely not. I do give my real first name, but there simply is too much at risk for me and my home life. I would hope my Cerb reputation here would help me to be identifiable, and I could provide some references if needed, but I'm not going to fully identify myself. I fully respect the ladies' right to make this a condition of a visit, and I would never argue over this requirement. There have been a (very) few occasions where this was listed as a requirement, but I explained why it was a problem for me and I have yet to have a lady not go ahead.
  16. +1000 on Kate ... she is an extremely attractive and (from what I have heard) well spoken young lady. I respectfully disagree that it is just staged or a non-event. Historically, it is very significant as it is the marriage of someone who is directly in line for the British Monarchy, so that's gotta count for something. I am not fascinated by the royals or anything like that (I think Prince Charles is a little off his rocker), but I Diana's boys have grown up quite well.
  17. Its kinda funny ... I have this mental image of a lady pulling a plastic covered sheet of paper out of her purse listing services and prices and then a small chalkboard with the specials of the day (smile). GFE is really all I need to know, if that, and any exclusions. I would be disappointed if there was no daty and extremely disappointed if there was no kissing.
  18. I think this has happened to me with a lady who is a dancer at Barb's that I have known for going on five years. We communicate quite a bit even when I'm not in town and keep up pretty much with what's going on. Its really kind of a nice feeling.
  19. IMO the ladies are very real at Barb's, but I can't argue that the CRleaves something to be desired. The owner doesn't seem to be willing to put much money into the club, but we shouldn't take that out on the ladies.
  20. The book is head and shoulders better than the movie which was awful IMO. And, as to Ayn Rand, it is also enjoyable to see some of her interview videos on You Tube. As to both Rand and also Milton Friedman, there's just an inescapable elegance to their logic that I find very appealing.
  21. As an American who has been fortunate enough to visit Canada for the last few years, I remember seeing this video when it was first produced for the NBC coverage in the US of the Vancouver Olympics and I remember saving it for my famlily to watch end-to-end. Its a wonderful video and shows just how much we have in common.
