Well folks, it looks like my bike has been unexpectedly retired for the season. After spending six months restoring it, I got it on the road and legal at the end of August. On an afternoon ride today I made the ultimate noob mistake. I hit an oil patch on a left curve, panicked when the rear tire lost traction and let off the throttle. Well, it lowsided and slid right into the curb. I was lucky, slid for what felt like 30 feet on my back, though I'm sure it was less, and got up with nothing more than a feeling of panic, then dispair over all that work for nothing. I think I can get it going again, but not before our group ride. The rad, exhaust headers,forks and who knows what else are all toast. All you guys here who ride, take my advice. WEAR YOUR GEAR! Full face helmets, leathers with reinforced slide plates, and the proper boots and gloves. Had I not been wearing full leathers and boots, I'd be in bad shape. After nearly 10 years of riding this was my first, and hopefully last accident. I hope you guys have a good turn out and enjoy the ride.

Well if anyone is looking for a good starter bike, there is a used '04 Honda 599 for sale on usedottawa.com. Great starter bike, lots more oompf than a 250 but still not enough to get you into too much trouble. It really depends on the girl for me. The one's that don't want any conversation, the "all business" type. I'd rather not have any cuddling with them, it would feel very phony and awkward. I love the after glow and cuddling with those that can carry a conversation just as stimulating as the physical activity. (I'm looking in your direction Cat ;))

I think that Karaoke bar on Merrivale that R100rs mentioned is closed. If it's the one in the same mall as Nicastro's the sign and business name have changed. I think most folk would be receptive to either a bar/strip club or private suite for something more formal... but that's just my two cents. I'd also be interrested.

I agree with you on every point Dumpy, but it will probably fall on deaf ears. The kind of SP or agency that would resort to that kind of chicanery is not interested in our input or opinions.

Get physio-therapy for the neck and shoulder. I was in a motorcycle accident 5 years ago and I still have chronic shoulder pain because I didn't get the proper medical attention. An emergency room doctor's ok just isn't a guarantee that you will be fine in a week or more.

Ok, I've been to essence, as recently a the beginning or February, and I don't think it's the kind of mp that you guys are talking about. Maybe I missed something, I don't know. Is there a secret knock or something to let them know you you are there for a massage and more? It was a very good massage but there was never any indication that there were extras.
