  1. I tend to look at things from a financial perspective, so here goes. If you're an established lady with a verified presence and a good reputation, you might as well raise your prices on day one under nordic. As mentioned before, I think guys will flock to safety. Women with good reputations might find their calendars more full on a permanent basis. On the other hand, as guys become more risk averse to TOFTT on a new or unreviewed lady, there will probably be a vacuum of clients for new ladies. They'll perhaps have to lower prices or be forced into taking riskier clients (encouraging more street prostitution?). I don't know if excessive "price competition" in this industry is the best thing for safety. Some men (perhaps myself) will just stop doing this altogether, and that will just squeeze supply even more. I don't know how exactly agencies will fit in. They've always made me nervous. With an organization in place it just seems to me there's more evidence (money changing hands, communications, fingers to point) there when police swoop in, which the new laws could allow them to do. They'd certainly be a more attractive way for new/unverified ladies to get their foot in the door in an industry that heavily favours experience. Which might only make them more vulnerable to exploitation. There's definitely Charter problems in all this.
  2. Is there a little grand standing by this parent? Certainty. I've never seen people more irrational than when they are worked up about their kids. So yes, she certainty would want to overstate the matter a little to draw attention to a system that she blames for her daughter's choices. But I think it is extremely naive to think it isn't a big problem. Just look at the last 48 hours on BP. Probably half of the 70 or 80 ads are by women no older than 22-23. Do you think none of these girls are 17? All the girls under 18 decided "nope, I'm not old enough yet"? It's like saying that there can't be under aged drinking because you see the signs in the liquor store that the legal age is 19. I'm not sure when I walk down the street If I can tell the different between 16 and 20 half the time. Those looking for evidence that this is wide spread aren't going to see it. The evidence will be hiding as something slightly older than it really is. And I do firmly believe there is a market for underaged girls. Men all over the world hop on planes and fly to Thailand for its notorious sex trade, including kids. It's a lot easier to just browse ads in your backyard and read between the lines. I agree this really bad publicity, though. For everyone, regardless of age. Which may be all this mother is really trying to accomplish.
  3. I'm a little mixed on this as well. I think it is great that a parent got her kid out of this industry. If she's 15 (my presumption from the article) then that's too young to "make her own choice" about this. That's too young to choose between architect or brick layer professions as far as I'm concerned, let alone something that can be dangerous or unhealthy if not handled like an experienced professional. But I don't like the attention this brings. A news story about a mother going vigilante because rampant underaged escorts isn't helpful at a time when politicians will be gauging support for a brand new set of laws. Also, my feeling is that HRPD will respond if for no other reason than for PR purposes to show they are responding. I think SP's and hobbiests alike should be cautious. Guys, if you weren't always using good judgement before, then now is a great time to stay away anything even remotely borderline, ask for ID's, and walk if it doesn't feel right. Ultimately, the best way to stop underaged girls from getting into escorting is to cut off the money - make sure they don't get yours!
  4. Also the same girl mentioned here: http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=159641 BTW, we are now allowed to link to backpage for research purposes.
  5. Same girl mentioned recently here: http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=159641 I've never met her, but I've long admired her photos. I can recognize those hips before I even click the ad. :)
  6. Agreed. She is obviously providing you with a path to redemption by requesting full disclosure, but too much of the dirty details might just end up coming across as hurtful and tip the scales toward a breakup. That being said I like the approach you are taking regarding being completely forthcoming. As I think Cristy said on a previous page, women are very intuitive when it comes to cheating and picking up on non-verbal cues. Much more so than men and by an order of magnitude. She's wise to this now, and she'll always be paying close attention. If you want this girl, I think you have to accept that you need to sacrifice your hobbying. Whatever you decide, good luck.
  7. That was specifically requested by the government - they asked the court, should they lose, to have the opportunity to enact something to replace it. It's not uncommon for that to happen when the judicial branch reaches its influence into the legislative branch. The two aren't really meant to mingle, so it's the courts way of putting the onus back on government fix its mess. It can be argued that the current legislation does some things adequately. It deters really blatant exploitation and human trafficking, for example, or at least that's a point of view. If living off the avails is suddenly fair game then more than a few abusive scumbags could decide to set up shops tomorrow and cash in. The court would prefer parliment get its house in order, rather than itself be take the risk of being responsible for even worse problems. Not agreeing with it, that's just that reasoning.
  8. Remember going from two channels to 13? It was an almost unfathomable event. Today, going from 200 to 300 would barely wake some kids up.
  9. Yeah. The timing of this and who is in power could ultimately shape the industry for a very long time. As much as the Liberals might criticize Harper for whatever new legislation he creates I doubt they'll reopen the issue later. It's a hot potato with nothing but political downsides. Lets hope they come up with something palatable, because we'll be living under that regime for another hundred years, or until a court over turns it.
  10. The Muppet Show Watching NFL football and Barney Miller with my father.
  11. I think this could easily be a case of being careful what we ask for. We just got it, but that doesn't mean the end result will be better. The court seemed to even go as far as to stress that they weren't commenting on the legality of prostitution, but just that the current laws create dangerous work environment. The problem is we currently have a government that has moral problems with the legality of prostitution. They are NOT going to do something overly progressive and helpful. They MAY make it illegal all together. I'm hoping they just let this go rather than stir the pot, because it isn't an issue they would have chosen to open if it wasn't thrust upon them. Then a future government can tackle the issue. I'm doubtful though. Why ask the court to give them time to write new legislation if they don't want to inject their morals into this issue? This ain't over yet, folks.
  12. MSOG is the first question I ask when making contact with a new lady, and if the answer is no then it's a deal breaker. No hard feeling or anything, the lady makes the rules and that's the only way this should work, but I'll just continue my search for someone more compatible. It's not a 'macho' thing at all or accumulating scores, I'm just genuinely not satisfied otherwise. Twice is fine. I know that "GFE" is different for everyone, but I can't imagine a real affectionate 'girlfriend' that wouldn't be accommodating at least once in a while (within reason). Nothing makes me feel unwelcome like seeing a girl put her clothes on half way though a date because she's fulfilled her one-release obligation.
  13. I've always had fairly swift responses from these ladies (so far anyway). I generally text rather than call. And I also take cues from activity on BP before I make an appointment. I finally met Brandi a week or so ago. Another positive experience worth repeating. I agree that it would be nice if they pruned the old profiles, or at least tagged them as "off until further notice". Other than the three discussed here (minus Nikki per above), there might be another girl (Jamie?) getting back into action soon, per my conversation with Brandi.
  14. It is notable that they seemed to be completely uninterested in the fact that these girls were running escort services - the charges were related to working in Canada with without authorization rather than the line of work they were in. The fact that border services was involved from the beginning would suggest to me that HRPD involvement was due to the specific people targeted by the feds rather than random local vice activities. This is perhaps one of the few cases were local police actually helped the local sex industry, if unintentionally: they got rid of illegal immigrant workers taking revenue away from legit local ladies trying to make a living. Interesting when you think about it.
  15. Karlie is perhaps the only lady I see on a semi-regular basis. When she takes a hiatus I'm a very sad fellow. Great personality and she's in no rush to get you out the door. Her sensual massages are... spine chilling. :)
  16. Yeah, I do think the website might be a little out of date (speculation only). HP itself is still around as of very recently, but I guess an individual's availability may vary.
  17. As said above, I think it is just Elise, Brandi and Nikki that are active. I have not seen the others post on BP in forever. I finally had a chance to meet Elise a few weeks ago and she was fantastic. A very bright, attractive and energetic young woman. I look forward to meeting Brandi.
  18. Depending on the circumstance it could be difficult and intimidating to do as it could be hard to maintain privacy after getting the police involved. Will the police follow up with him some day to gather more evidence by calling home where he might have a wife or girlfriend? Will he have to go to court as a witness? Does he have friends or family or coworkers that work in the legal system that might hear about this? Could he get in trouble (no, but imagined fears can be just as powerful)? Unfortunately that's what these types are betting on: the victims being too embarrassed to report the crime. I can't say myself that it would be worth the time and effort to go through that process (maybe dozens of hours before resolution?) just for the chance to recover a few hundred dollars. I guess vetting your dates really is the best practice. I hate that mentality because there are lots of great new ladies that just don't have a resume or recommendation yet, but stuff like this makes you think twice. Thanks for reporting, guys!
  19. Yeah, I've actually had considerably better luck with local independent Halifax ladies than with agency girls from big cities, almost to the point of avoiding the big agencies completely. I've never encountered drugs or henchmen on a date around here. For a small market I think we some of the best SP's in the country.
  20. The S4 is a great phone and you won't be disappointed with it. Don't overlook the HTC One either. It is every bit as good at the S4 but often sells a slight discount, and it has the best camera on the market.
  21. I know one of the Halifax Playmates girls is Nikki Menage, who I think is one of the best providers in HRM, and she has a CERB recommendation. I can't speak for the other ladies specifically, only that I think I can recognize some of Nikki's furnishings in the background of all their pictures. :) I don't know what that means, but I'm guessing it is at least her space they use on occasion. So perhaps she at least knows them, rather than just being randomly assembled co-workers. I'd still like to meet one or more of these women, so if I get around to doing so I'll share my experience.
  22. Likewise, I had a great time with Cleo last Saturday night during her visit. She is intelligent, confident, and someone I could have spent the night just talking too. Oh, and she's also incredibly sexy with hypnotic eyes and maybe the softest skin I've every felt. If she doesn't return to NS I'll have to find a way to visit her some day. Thanks for the date, Cleo!
  23. Another reason, which more that one SP has given me for excluding any kind of kiss from the session, is that it greatly increases the intimacy of the date. Thereby increasing the likelihood that one party will develop an undesired emotional attachment. Not everybody can always separate physical and emotional love. I can respect an SP wanting to minimize the chance of a guy getting an unhealthy crush (or vice versa). Overall I consider kissing a nice bonus, but not a requirement for good GFE date.
  24. Never met them, but one of these girls occasionally posts duo ads with her identical twin sister. They've been discussed on cerb from time to time. I talked to her on the phone once and she seemed nice but we couldn't agree on terms. I feel she's legit, but its just missing that warm cerb reco or verification that would put me over the edge.
