unfortunately none of us can see the future (unless we have a terminal illness with a predictable timeline). realistically, we all will spend our last days doing the same as we did today and the day before, the trick is to make everyday a day you can be proud to be your last. I'm far from wise, but it seems life has three simple rules to make it a worthy one: 1. have fun (luckily fun is a personal thing for each to define) 2. always take responsibility for yourself (and your actions/reactions, feelings etc) 3. if you can't do good, at least do no harm (to everyone and everything) just thinking out loud

The Goodbye hug and kiss

is it just me thinking this, but if you have enough make up on after(!) that you are worried about leaving traces perhaps something went terribly wrong? Are we just sweaty messes in the end? Or is that just me? -
Banks...how do you choose? >.< Help please!

If it is customer service you are looking for (regular banking), I have never heard anything bad about TD or BMO. Have heard plenty of horror stories dealing with RBC. -

Fun Pranks......
dirkgently replied to Gentleman11's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Two that I remember from years ago: First had a friend spend 8 hours one saturday raking leaves, he had a huge yard. He lived in the country so he burned them off. little did he know, I and a couple other friends were also raking leaves and piling them in the back of my truck. At two o'clock in the morning, we very quietly spread them around his lawn. His wife said he stared at the lawn for 15 minutes before swearing for 30. Same friend, next winter. He also has a very long driveway and uses a tractor to plow out. After one particularly big snow, he plowed out in the morning then cursed because the road plow filled in the end of his driveway causing him to walk in, get the tractor, drive out, clear the way, walk back out for his car. Same friends took turns filling in the end of his driveway next four days causing him to repeat every day that week. to this day he still has no idea it was us. -

Man, just be happy with what you have. Promise, you think about it more than any lady does. -
But what about the Soap?
dirkgently replied to emiafish's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
You know, I've never thought about it before and have never really noticed what brand of soap is where. Couldn't even think of what kind we have at home (checked - there are at least three different ones - have no idea which I use, just grab and go) Suppose now that I'm past middle age (side rant - average lifespan for cdn male is 80 middle age is therefore 40, plus or minus 5 years) I should choose a scent. Do they make chocolate or maybe Gibson's scented soap? -

business opportunity for sp

absolutely do not want to work out, ever really, but tons of motivation if there are rewards to follow. -
I had this thought a few years ago, probably posted it then but do not remember what came of it and am too lazy to look it up. A few years ago I read an old "fletch" book where there a bordello that used exercise to sexually satisfy their customers. My thought was that an SP should / could also work as a personal trainer. Make the client exercise then have a reward at the end. It would definitely be motivating to get you through the workout and even coming back. Getting the exercise is an added bonus, especially for those of us that need to lose a bunch. Haven't crunched the numbers or put together a business plan, but it may work as a valued added service. Thoughts?

Recently watched Cloud Atlas. Visually stunning and the story was better told on the screen than in the book (which never happens). By the end, you feel how all the inside stories are tied together and although a longish movie, just wanted it to keep going. Tom Hanks and Halle Barry were excellent together.

Personally I think park assist is the worst invention and the last one we need. Instead we should be properly training people how to drive. The reason parallel parking is part of a driving test is to determine if you have a basic understanding and ability to make the vehicle do want you want it to do. Having a computer do the work for you in no way enhances your driving ability and the better driver you are the safer we all are. Just my two cents On a side note, recently went to a gathering at a friends house and blocked several cars when I parked. It wasn't a problem as I told everyone and left the keys by the door so anyone could move the car. Problem was, out of 15 people there I was the only one that could drive a manual. What is the world coming to.

I have friends that keep inviting me to play, but I haven't really gotten in to them. Seems many people get addicted once they start. All in fun -
Big Brother Canada
dirkgently replied to jaywoolf's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
There's a Big Brother Canada? Man am I out of touch. More scripted "reality" TV, not really my thing anyway. -
I like petite women, 5'2" seems a good height (I'm 5'11') although a couple inches in either direct works. I've always assumed it is my "BIG PROTECTIVE MAN" gene.

Natural nakedness for me. I like as little as possible between me and the lady. I also prefer little or no makeup, flats over heals and comfort clothes over fancy dress. But That's just me.

Comfort clothes
dirkgently replied to Isabella Gia (Banned)'s topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Apparently I'm the only guy with comfort clothes? I have a very old, very heavy weight hoodie that I've had over 20 years (still in good shape), it is my go to wear when I just want to lounge or sit out on the deck in the fall. Hope it lasts another 20 years (although I probably won't). -
sad to say I learned this the hard way, but never ever use the washroom after splashing hot sauce on your hand without thoroughly washing first!!!
