Thanks Meg. xo True... Now I'm not saying this applies to her, but I think in many cases we try to treat the addiction and not the underlying cause. Unfortunately, you can tell someone over and over again how much you love them and it won't make their lives any better or their memories and problems go away. If you take away someone's drugs and they lead an unhappy life.. where does that leave them? (Some) People become crack/drug addicts to "get away", relax, forget... You need to give them counseling, other means to relax, ways to feel proud of themselves.. incentive to face their problems and move on. Life is not supposed to be all roses and sunshine, but some of these people addicted to drugs are obviously having a rough time coping with that. If you take a look at women's shelters.. a lot of them have good models for helping women start new lives. We need to expand on that...

Education isn't the only thing you can't force on people though. 50% of people who willingly enter rehab go back to drugs. Any program that says their rate is higher is lying. I'm with you that they don't need rescuing, what they need is actual support. Something they can turn to where they know with a little work someone will help them get out. I think with good and supportive programs in place, those who inevitably want to get out can and will have a better chance of not returning. If you feel hopeless, it must be hard to gather motivation to make the changes in life that make it possible to move on... The problem is there has to be constant programs with reasonable expectations and goals for these ladies that work them towards happier lives, that actually show them how to get started in life.. if we just take them off drugs and away from pimps and tell them life will get better.. reality that life is hard will come back crashing down on them, possibly returning them to the life they already know. Change is hard for lots of people, I would imagine it can be even harder for someone with a hard life or in a bad situation.. especially with no one behind you.

I don't understand why people come on, especially here, and make statements like such.. I mean, it's great you found Cerb.. but the statement made isn't going to score you points with anyone.. I would have to disagree.. I do/have used a couple free sites, (excluding CL as I have yet to ever advertise there) but I've never gotten any clients from them... so almost all of my clients come from Cerb.

You can sometimes find them at health clinics or the drugstore.. but they can be kind of tricky to find as they're not overly popular. I actually buy a lot of my condoms and such online in bulk, so I usually buy dental dams at the same time. I started buying mine from www.canadiancondom.com .. they have some good reviews and their condoms are good (not past the due date or in torn packaging).. they also have dams in stock. There are probably a bunch of other places online that sell them as well.. xo

That's what dental dams are for! (Well for safe DATY and Rimming) Last I heard, you can actually catch Hep A through sweat.. though there are vaccines for it. (Twinrex, I believe it was called, was the Hep A&B shot I got before going to Mexico a few years ago) Dental dams are great and they come flavored!

Sorry Angela! I completely missed your post, which just so happened to be in the thread I posted.. (Oops!) Obviously, if you were looking for such a service.. choosing a lady like Angela would be my first choice as she not only offers such, but seems confident and comfortable doing so. As for those of us who don't list our services, a quick and polite PM or e-mail asking if we offered such wouldn't be a bad idea either. Additional Comments: I would have to agree with this.. sometimes it's just fun..

I'm sure you have... but they have releases to be signed, or want them deleted after, or want them taken with their camera and deleted after. This has been talked about before.. http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=30261&highlight=taking+pictures&page=3

Well said. I highly doubt any lady is going to let you come on her face and then take pictures of it with your phone... ... While some may let you take pictures, I do not think any of them are going to let you take the kind you can show your buddies afterward... not that you would, but you could and I don't think any SPs (at least here) would be comfortable with such.

Why thank you. ;) xx Thank you so very, very much for this post.. It's exactly what I was trying to figure out. (in a way I could understand to boot!) xx

Yes, I understand that part.. I'm just wondering why/if these IPs are trying to access my router.. The log looks something like this... Wed Aug 18 16:39:05 2010 Blocked incoming TCP packet from 173.189.14.208:53437 to *my router's IP* or Wed Aug 18 16:38:35 2010 Blocked incoming UDP packet from 90.205.102.65:25769 to .... I believe 53437 & 25769 are the ports. (Please correct me if I am wrong though.) I searched the IPs last night, many of them are from Canada but there are some from China, Finland, US, UK.. other random countries.

So, late last night my laptop started acting overly screwy.. I unplugged it from the internet and immediately started scanning through it and found a very tricky virus.. one that my anti-virus programs didn't seem able to properly remove. Not being able to figure it out personally, I sent it to my cousin to be filled with junk data and reformatted.. After, I was looking through my router logs as I was hoping to find out exactly how this got on my laptop. (I only use my laptop for work e-mail and cerb) I found numerous (as well as some of the same, over and over) IP addresses that had been blocked by my router for attempting send a TCP packet. Another one it's constantly blocking is UDP packets. What are these? Why are people sending them? And how do I stop them? I've had a couple people tell me that they could be people attempting to get into my router, another person told me that it could be slowing down my connection... so at the moment I have no idea what they are and any ideas would be greatly appreciated. xo

cash stapped whats free to do in Ottawa
Parker replied to E.D. man's topic in Ottawa Discussion - Escorts
I would suggest checking out the city site.. Not everything is free, but it's easy to browse events and find those that are. There are lots of things going on, but there are usually a couple free events in the city every day.. http://app01.ottawa.ca/ArtsCalendar/home.jsf?lang=en -
Angela of Ottawa hits TWO Thousand Posts
Parker replied to Old Dog's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Congrats Angela! xo -
Wow.. see this is kind of what I'm talking about. People talk shit and then hide behind the fact that nothing negative can go on on Cerb. If I'm going to be talked about, obviously as a normal human being, I'm going to get upset when I can't correct anything... due to a willingness to follow the cerb rules. .. I love when people shove me between a rock and hard place.. pfft...

I would have to agree. Cerb is a different type of board, privately run and moderated.. It's not a "public forum", where any discussion is welcome.. (Not that I have a problem with that at all, Cerb can run itself how it likes). I get overly annoyed though when Cerb is used as a safe haven.. eg., people will send you nasty messages on other boards and e-mails and then run back to cerb and try to start a conversation with you knowing all well that they already got your emotions flaring and now you can say nothing, because it's Cerb and you want to follow the rules. It's also very hard to determine sometimes what is to be kept separate from Cerb.. A bunch of the girls from here do advertise, complain and such about CL, and a bunch of guys like to use CL, advocate for it and review ladies that are on it.. I mean, you would have to figure with the amount of people using it, some discussion would pop up about the poor ways other people choose to use it. No negativity here is great, but I honestly think it has it's downfalls.. I mean someone can flat out lie, partake in illegal activities and you can't really say anything for fear that you're going to get suspended or banned.. I've never minded watching what I say on Cerb, but it's can be overly hard, we're all human.. we seek the truth and it's not always positive. Additional Comments: Slander and harassment are illegal.. not just unwanted. You can get yourself into some serious legal trouble.

I do very much appreciate your apology and understand that you didn't mean anything negative by it, or think it would have the reaction it did. I was hoping I didn't come off to harsh, I wasn't trying to.. I was trying to convey the frustration we can constantly face with being treated different and with having to defend ourselves when it comes to all sorts of things. Honestly though, look around at the ladies here on Cerb... their posts, the recommendations.. I don't think any hints or tricks are necessary to find a lady who enjoys what she does. ;-)

The problem with this is you can't paint all people the same. Firstly, I take GREAT offense that us under 25 are taken are less intelligent, less adept in good conversation (both of which are common themes).. or even less into or serious about our jobs... The fact that we're more likely to be pimped is not only the most stupid of things I've ever read, but a huge insult as well.. I know plenty of people over 40 who are absolute morons.. age has NOTHING to do with it... Secondly, frequently canceling meaning psychological distress?? How about people have lives?? I've had plenty of clients that had to cancel (some more than once), if I painted them all as nuts I wouldn't be seeing any clients. I'm not saying if she cancels all the time she's great.. but psychological distress?? Honestly? Lastly, I believe most of us do enjoy our jobs.. at least until we put up with stupid people, countless questions and have to constantly defend ourselves, our actions and our choices to others. If you want to make sure she is loving her job, how about not dissecting her life, smile and way she works and just treating her like a lady... show her a good time and enjoy yourself.. if she wasn't loving her job the moment before, she will when you make her job easy by being a good client and treating her with the respect she deserves. Sorry if this seemed rant like.. I just think it's really lame when I see "Oh and this one actually enjoys her work" .. We can't all love all our jobs all time now can we? It just seems so dehumanizing that we wouldn't be like everyone else..

Not to change the subject.. but, Minimum wage is not supposed to be high.. it's not meant to be lived off of. You're not supposed to get a $6 an hour job and then stay at it and do nothing the rest of your life.. You're supposed to graduate high school, go to college and then get a real job. I'd like to see where you're buying your milk.. I know here, I don't bother buying homogenized because I'm not paying the extra couple dollars. I just can't make sense of paying that much for milk... people buy it for their kids.. it comes from cows, which are everywhere.. I can't understand why it's more expensive than a couple boxes of coke. Canada is an amazing country, don't get me wrong.. but the cost of living here is unbelievable. I'd have to agree with Lowdark.. The way it was explained to me was a shift in taxes from the business to the consumer in an effort to bring down prices.. Which it has yet to do..

Best Movie Soundtracks
Parker replied to Kate von Katz's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I love Danny Elfman, he's absolutely amazing. The Alice in Wonderland soundtrack was great, but only if you find the Danny Elfman version and NOT the Disney version. -(500) Days of Summer - (Mumm-ra, Wolfmother, The Smiths) -Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - (E.L.O, The Willowz, The Polyphonic Spree) -Cabaret (Liza Minnelli) -Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children -
You might be behind it, but you can't blame the people who are trying to get by and are now having more money taken by the government for getting upset about it. My cousins live in 'low-income households'... Between this HST and the slow jump in minimum wage, they are having problems affording everything they need. I think some people, especially in government, forget that when minimum wage goes up or expected costs from a new tax, the low income people feel it first with cost increases. I've been in Canada for a few years now, since I've come simple things like milk and bread have gone up quite a bit. (Which was 8$ last night by the way, 5$ for the milk, 3$ for the bread... How do we expect lower income people to get by or move up making them pay almost 10$ for milk and toast?!?)

Maybe I'm missing something, but is there a reason people dislike the police here? I mean, a crime against an escort here is still a crime.. the police do their job and treat it as such. In some places a crime against sex workers would go to the bottom of the unimportant pile.. being a product of our "bad choices" and "poor judgment", here I find the police are into helping anyone who needs it. Maybe I'm not expecting enough out of them? Maybe they're supposed to be doing something I haven't heard of? I don't know.. they seem alright. The police in the States can be far more snooty and difficult to deal with... without being an escort.
-
Which you are more than welcome to do... I guess I am fortunate that I have only seen the nice and helpful side of the police.
-
I think that's it exactly.. There are far better people to worry about than one little escort who's not disturbing or hurting anyone. I doubt there is ever a shortage of actual criminals.. I don't know about other places in Canada, but the Ottawa police are great. I'm not sure if they're just more escort friendly here, but they've always been overly helpful the odd time I've come in contact with them.

SPs Who Wear Glasses - Do You Find it a Turn-On?
Parker replied to Andee's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Why thank you! xo I do love my glasses, I have a few pairs now so I can switch them up every once in a while. They do tend to slip, fall and get in the way during certain activities though so I don't wear them all the time. Glasses are like a good hair cut. You need the right pair to fit your face and style. I think so many women look great in glasses, which is funny because the models they use in the ads for glasses at the store just don't usually look as good with them on... -
