  1. Yeah, I did that last time.. it worked and lasted for quite a while.. The only problem was I had to go to every site I had ads and such to change my e-mails, one's I missed were deleted, or had the wrong e-mail... Then there's clients... all in all, changing it is just a big hassle.. I was kind of hoping that Thunderbird would have some sort of blocking addon, but I couldn't find one..
  2. I've been getting a lot of spam e-mails recently, unfortunately they are going to my thunderbird... which (as far as I can tell) doesn't seem to have any way to block senders as hotmail does... ..So.. I starting searching and blocking IPs, since it's easily done through my website management panel. That's when I discovered that most of the IPs where actually coming from America but were being routed through proxy servers in Europe and Asia.. My big question is how many people actually use proxy servers? I would hate to be blocking people from seeing my site, but getting hundreds of spam e-mails from Russian and Bulgarian proxy servers, eating up my e-mail space on my server is really, really annoying.
  3. Wikipedia may not be the best source of info.. but even it knows that these words were not created out of hate, they have other origins.. I originally felt that this was blown out of proportion simply for the fact that it's not a horrible word/used negatively all over the world.. and this being Canada, I thought people were use to learning about things, people, and the way things are around the world... Some people don't get that it is used so negatively here.. Just like some how some men come from other places and don't understand women's rights... We don't yell and ban them from Canada, we teach them that here, it's not how we do things... we believe in a better way. (and we usually try to understand why they think what they think) ...this is why I moved to Canada.. for the friendly understanding.. This inability to see it as anything other than a derogatory term has really blown my mind...
  4. While I know it is common place in Canada that freedom of speech exists as long as it doesn't hurt other people, (something I do not disagree with..) I think we have to remember that Canada is full of people of different backgrounds. I know there are certain words you can't say in Canada that are readily used in other parts of the world... Oxford dictionary defines 'c**t' as; "an unpleasant or stupid person", A Canadian comedian's entire show revolves around the word and how you can say it all you like in Ireland as long as you don't say fanny, (and though considered a bit more of a crude person) Kevin Wilson wrote a song, "You Can't Say c**t in Canada." I'm not saying people don't have the right to be upset, 90% of the time words like such are being used in a derogatory way.. but at the same time this is Canada!, people from all over the world come to live here and I think if we spent a little less time getting mad about semantics.. we'd all be happier people. Was he right to say it, no.. (when is Rome, right?) but at the same time I really don't think he meant it in a derogatory way. The same thing happens when a lady gets called a whore, hooker, prostitute... Spend less time worrying about the words people use to describe you (or other people) and more about the person you are. Because in the end, it's the person you are that people see.. not the stupid words used to describe you... On a side note; I personally also believe that censorship of words only perpetuates it's bad meaning and doesn't give good people the chance at self control... xo
  5. Sorry to hear Tracie... This can be a huge problem though, not too mention a giant pain in the ass. I had a horrible time trying to get references at first... and yes, the ladies who don't respond at all are kind of annoying.. you at least wish they would tell you they don't remember.. or would rather not hand out references.. I think the best this to do is always ask the gent to contact the lady first! That way she knows your message is coming and she can make sure she actually knows the guy. Another thing I like to do is include my website or cerb profile link.. that way the lady can check to make sure I'm an actual escort and not just some person trying to get information. I also keep a list of ladies who have either told me personally that they do not like to give references or one's who don't answer... that way you won't waste time (yours or theirs) bugging them again. I take a lot of steps to get a references, but I find it helps to getting a reference quickly and easily.. I've gotten a lot fewer 'no replies' since. xo
  6. See, I think a lot of us use references as a quicker and easier way of trying to screen you... As I said in a previous post, I already spend far too much time screening clients and not enough time seeing them.. If I had to ask around and view all your posts, that would at least triple the time I spent. So while it seems fine and dandy from a clients perspective.. it wouldn't so much if we spent so much time trying to figure out if you were alright that we didn't have time to see you.. It also wouldn't work very good for those people who have tons of posts, only most of them are jokes or photos... What about people who don't contribute? What about ladies who don't have access to the SP only area? I think the whole "fend for yourself" attitude in this business is outdated.. I also don't really think agency girls CHOOSE to 'take chances' .. I think they actually expect the people taking calls to be doing some sort of screening as well.. While they may not take references, agencies have other ways of screening you that they don't air publicly....
  7. Exactly! This is why I asked... because an uncomfortable/bad situation could throw you off the idea of references as well... There are just so many reasons, and not all of them bad. I think it's pretty clear from this that references are not bad or good, just another means of screening.. One that I will keep, but not necessarily solely use... Big thanks to everyone who answered, you have all given me some very valuable insight.
  8. Aww.. thanks Pete.. If I had been asking what people thought of my lip ring, I wouldn't have cared. lol. But us ladies don't need unasked for comments about our bodies or the things we use to decorate them... My lip ring has special meaning to me, I'll take it out when I like.. not when others like. While this is a good idea.. Only about half my clients come from cerb.. Even if a bunch of amazing ladies got together and made these lists, there's a lot of problems that could come up.. just as with asking references... Plus.. most of you cerb guys are already great, so you have little to worry about..
  9. I fully agree with this.. To me, the jealousy and possessiveness are feelings that were put aside when I chose this profession. I have a handful of clients, most of the married with families, some of them are have nice girlfriends, and some are single, but feel no need for an actual relationship... If I were going to get all 'jealous' about things having to do with clients, there are plenty of things to worry about... So when a clients tells me he can't give me a reference because his previous SPs would get jealous... it really makes me wonder...
  10. Seriously? Because that's what I was asking right? LOL I hope Mod leaves this up.. Anyone else who thinks your opinions on others looks is uncalled for and stupid can .. choose not to see you as well. 8-)
  11. Hmm... these are all good reasons. I started with references because they seemed easier... which they are anything but. I guess I just wish there was an easier, more reliable method of screening as I seem to spend far more time trying to screening clients than actually seeing them. Maybe there should be some sort of "good client" code... SPs can change the codes regularly so you only know it if you continue to be good clients... lol
  12. What a great answer! I agree with you Pete, but I understand this as well.. I'm someone who sometimes has difficulty finding the right words, so I can see it being difficult to think up some personable way to say, "Can I use you as a reference to see another lady." The only other reason I had ever heard was the 'jealous SP' ... which didn't make a lot of sense to me...
  13. There are a lot about references and why us ladies take them... I'd like to know what makes them so horrible for the guys? I see a lot of comments in threads about not liking them and I get a lot of e-mails about how horribly unfair it is for me to ask for references.. I see references as a pretty common thing in our world... Specialists, doctors, new jobs, apartments, loans... these all require references.. and I've never heard of one of these places/people being "lacking of class" or "unreasonable" because they ask for references... What makes it different when I ask for them?
  14. They certainly seem like that, There were two of these groups, this is the other one; http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=10150095091825008&ref=search&sid=100000286154328.1055784124..1 It seems though that people are just making them to piss other people off though, for every one that gets taken down a couple more pop up... http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=330344512141&ref=search&sid=100000286154328.3655851344..1 http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=228830072853&ref=search&sid=100000286154328.2608425848..1 It's really sad that people have nothing better to do...
  15. I guess I'm the odd one... I knew about CERB first.. I think I actually found out about CL through cerb and then later in the news...
  16. "Women are like noodles... They're only straight until you get them wet." "I fuck all my friends..."
  17. Well that's quite sad... The only thing I really don't understand is why CL? I read all the problems PK experiences with it, here and on the other board... Why not advertise with E-C? Or here on CERB? ... I get that CL is free, but PK seems to have enough business and client base that a paid ad somewhere other that OAN wouldn't really hurt. I'm not trying to say anything about your advertising skills or how you run your business.. It just seems to me like a lot of people (agencies and independent) bring on drama themselves... People are constantly complaining about CL... What I don't understand is why people don't just move on to something else...
  18. I don't really see it being any different than looking for an Asian escort or an escort of a specific size... The comment was in poor taste, but I don't find the thread itself offensive.
  19. Yes, most people do... I was just wondering what his fascination with women of Jewish faith was... that's all. I mean, for all I know the OP gets really turned on when a woman speaks Hebrew...
  20. I'm wondering what the rest of the ladies think here... I personally don't care for the term "hobbyist"... I'm not sure why... Maybe it's because I think of it more of a service than a hobby... /shrug
  21. Are these stereotypes even actual stereotypes?? I've never ever heard of Jewish people being typically unshaven... while I've heard that about Asian women, I have still yet to meet an Asian lady who didn't shave... .. and where is this pale, blue eyed thing coming from? I'm so confused.. lol
  22. Why? I'm just wondering what would attract someone to SPs of a certain faith...
  23. Unfortunately, Herpes simplex and the pox virus are two completely different things.. but there is a type of herpes meningitis... (something I would definitely worry about picking up.) I believe you're thinking of herpes zoster, (or varicella zoster) which I believe is related to chicken pox (or is another name for chicken pox, I can't remember)... "Herpes" actually refers to "viral diseases causing eruptions of the skin or mucous membrane " ... it's the ending you have to worry about. HSV-1 or HSV-2 can cause genital herpes... Either can cause clusters to form on the genitals... So going down on someone with a cold sore could be infecting them with a lifelong battle... as some people are resistant to the drugs that keep the symptoms of the virus away. (swelling, sores, pain, itching, ect...) They also believe herpes has an association with Bell's palsy and Alzheimer's disease...
  24. Like the tags that contain washing instructions/size? I've heard a lot over the past couple years, but this one is new.. lol
