Just to be clear, I don't need any convincing ;) My two favourite things are kissing and daty because, without a bit of passion or reciprocation, it's just not as enjoyable. I want who I'm with to have a good time also. But there are girls out there that won't cross that line for personal reasons, and maybe there's a few that will provide it only because that is what seems to be the industry norm and by not doing so, they will not get as much business. I recall reading a post a few weeks back saying that the "GFE" style of escorting is a relatively new incarnation. My own personal experience with sp's have only come in the last year, so I have no previous frame of reference to the way things may have been 'back in the day'. You see it often in older movies and tv where any character that is a sex worker talks about "never kiss the client", although that was probably just used as dramatic effect (i.e. Pretty Woman). But are the services offered today beyond what was common 10, 20, 30 years ago? I'm wondering to see if this is a trend similar to what happened in the stripping industry when physical contact became the norm. Before, the girls could just dance if they wanted to. Then things changed where if they didn't let every guy with a $20 bill grope them, they ran the risk of losing their livelihood. And of course some girls did not like this as they did not want their personal space invaded. Has GFE had the same effect with escorting?

This isn't judgmental, more like hopeful for a perfect world so to speak. I am sure it would be nice to get rid of all the bad clients and maybe as well those drivers that don't let you merge into traffic while we're at it - but none of that is going to happen. There's plenty of girls out there that need to fuel a coke habit, have no respect for others or themselves, or do whatever they can to circumvent the law and ethics. Actually that applies to all people in general, not just some of the working girls. Sad but true, and it will never change.

Perhaps there is a certain ceiling where people feel comfortable paying, so that is another factor in the rates being stagnant. As mentioned, many key commodities and expenses have risen over the years - as has salary - but disposable income has stayed the same. Something else you might want to consider is getting a laptop. The luxury of portability might be worth the extra $. But if you're content just upgrading the monitor, even a cheap LCD will do wonders for eye strain as opposed to any CRT. Supply and demand may have something to do with it. The proliferation of the internet may have given the opportunity to more sp's to market themselves more easily. On a side note, at 250/hr you don't necessarily have to work volume to make a decent living. 5 clients per week would amount to an income over $50k per year. I think having a sale would have a much different effect when applied to escorting because you're right, they don't freeze that well (I have NO first hand knowledge of this by the way, just speculating!) When I decide to see a SP, it's because I'm in the mood and have the time to do it. Just because the rates are slashed by 50% doesn't mean I'll wait for that time. And if it was a regular of mine, I would pay the same anyways. Because saying you are having a sale does give the appearance of a bad connotation that you are a commodity that, for lack of a better term, can be cheapened. As far as the pay what you think it's worth thing goes, I can see it working for a restaurant atmosphere for some of the reasons it would not work for escorting. A restaurant is a public place where you can be 'shamed' into paying a reasonable amount instead of being a tightwad prick and leaving an insulting amount. I can think of a few instances where I have had atrocious service in a restaurant and rightfully left a purposefully insulting tip - but timed my departure so that the server doesn't pick it up until after I've left. I only do that after getting truly awful service, but still feel like I'm doing something wrong and want to avoid confrontation. Now take someone in private that doesn't care what you think and possibly objectifies women...could turn out to be a very bad outcome. The other difference is we're talking beer and champagne when it comes to amounts. This is a place where you get a coffee and a sandwich...$10 average bill maybe? So you slap $5 down, no big deal, the owner is out $5 if it was a ten dollar tab. And there's 200 people coming through in the course of a day to make up for that. As an escort, if you only see 2 clients in one day and both give you less than your usual rate, that's it. And they probably would have paid full amount to begin with... Who knows though...could work on CERB, but I sure as hell wouldn't want to see what would happen if you posted this kind of deal on CL!

It appears to me that most SPs are advertised as between 5'1 and 5'9 and about 105 to 135 lbs. And 95% of the time, one or both of these numbers are incorrect. Doesn't bother me, it's one of those necessary evils, as long as it is ballpark and within the acceptable range of how clueless most men are about a female's weight! Actually here's a good example for you SA, one of your all-time favourites. Sofia at DV was listed at something like 5'9 135. But I'm pretty sure she told me she was 160 and she had a very lovely body. Probably 5'10 as well. Not me, never had them. I don't know if it's too much respect for the fairer sex or a fear of being cheesy, but I am absolutely terrible when it comes to that 'magic moment' with a girl where you're supposed to say or do something to initiate romantic contact. I think proper communication and what is appropriate depending on context is the real issue here. I accept garbled emails and forum posts because I realize that most of the world is not as obsessively compulsively anal as I am before clicking 'send'. An ad on CL about a "horny cokkege student trying to pay the bills", or something like that. Yeah, it's just a typo and it probably was a scam to boot but jesus, it's the headline for an advertisement - take a fucking look before you hit submit! If I see an ad for, "Me and my horny romy wanto fuk u, were hot", I ain't going there no matter how hot and how low your rates are. The brain is the most important sex organ and chances are, those types won't be stimulating it.
