In another thread discussing the genuineness (is that a word?) of the encounter, I mentioned that I thought that sex was a basic human right. Kubrickfan suggested I start this as a topic, so here we are! My reasoning behind the assertion that sex is (or should be) a human right is that on a very basic level, everyone requires touch and intimacy. Sex doesn't have to be something that is limited to marriage or relationships and it's not a bad thing if you like to fuck all the time (join the club!). It's an emotional and physical release. I know when I'm cranky, a good fuck will make it better. I tend to think the world would be less fucked up if certain people were getting laid more! Society often puts restrictions on sexual behaviour and what makes a person worth sleeping with and that means that some people get the shaft when it comes to the sexin's. That's totally fucked up to me. Why shouldn't everyone be able to enjoy sex, when they want and how they want? So Cerbies, what do you think?

Totally coming in late on this one, but I hope you had a great birthday! xo -
Thanks for the heads up! Knowing me though I'll probably read them all anyway :) I've only got one class next semester and so I'll have lots of time on my hands :)

Feb '12 CERB Pool Tourney/Social?
VedaSloan replied to Bethany Westbrooke's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I can't play pool to save my life, so maybe this would be a good opportunity for some practice. Being able to play pool is on my list of skills I'd like to have (along with knowing how to hotwire a car--that'll come in handy during the zombie apocalypse). So, yes, this is a great idea and I am totally in. -
Ok, here goes: Je t'aime! J'adore ton posts. Felicitations! That was my awful awful attempt at French. Love ya sexy!

the 13 smartest porn stars of all time
VedaSloan replied to VedaSloan's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I'm not familiar with Sharon Mitchell, but if she's got a PhD she should totally be on this list! Also, I'm sure there are more guys with degrees or who deserve to be on this list than Ron Jeremy (I still can't really figure out how he got to be such a big star--he is soooooo unattractive!) Maybe we should make our own list of the smartest porn stars? -
Favourite Christmas dish?
VedaSloan replied to Cato's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
The traditional holiday fare at my house is turkey, turnip, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, and stuffing. There is gravy, but I prefer cranberry sauce. I am the only one (besides Mom) who likes pumpkin pie, but Mom makes sure to make one every year just for me. And my ginger snap cookies. Really, it's the holiday baking I look forward to: peanut butter balls covered in chocolate brownies lemon squares shortbread! -
I've always found it strange that this is the one business where the "genuineness" of the encounter always seems to be questioned (I don't necessarily mean by CERB members, more in general). No one questions whether their nanny or day-care provider "really" cares about the children they look after, despite the fact that they are paid to do so. Like Cat, when clients come to see me, they meet "me," flaws and all. I give 100% and I do genuinely care about my clients because I personally think that sex is something that EVERYONE (rude/offensive notwithstanding) should be able to access, regardless of ability, size, race, age, gender, etc. In my mind, sex is a basic human right, and I see myself as providing a service that is much needed. I often feel like I am doing something good for someone else, giving them something that they sorely need (and I don't just mean orgasms) and that is what I love about my job.

past experience that shape our character
VedaSloan replied to shymale's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Shymale, I can TOTALLY relate. In elementary school I had braces and glasses and I was overweight. It really couldn't get much worse. It didn't matter that I eventually grew into a beautiful woman and lost the braces and got cooler glasses--that "loser" rep followed me to high school. I didn't have many friends, and to this day I can count on one hand the people I consider good friends. I've always been a bit of a loner, but I think that being shunned a lot when I was a kid definitely fueled that. Thank you for sharing your experiences. -
Ok, I clearly need to acquire the Sin City novels too! And From Hell. SERIOUSLY. TOO MANY CHOICES.

I loved trying to guess who certain escorts might be. Obviously there is no way for me to know, but it was fun fantasizing. Haha. Additional Comments: I am totally going shopping for graphic novels later! I definitely need some holiday reading.

Damn! There are a whole lot of hot goddesses up in this joint. Congrats Emma !

Sex tools for couple

That's really good to know! I've only used it two or three times, so it still feels great. I guess maybe it would work better as a "special occasion" toy? -
I love graphic novels (basically extended comic books). One of the first (fictional) books I read about sex work was a graphic novel called Rent Girl by Michelle Tea. Another good one related to the escort industry is Chester Brown's Paying for It, which recounts the authors experiences with escorts in Toronto. Some of my other faves (non-sex work related) include: The Watchmen (big surprise!) Human Diastrophism (a big collection of the Love and Rockets books) The Boys by Garth Ennis Ones I haven't read but which are on my list to check out: The Walking Dead The Crow (just found out about this thanks to castle!) Anyone else a graphic novel fan? What are your favourites? Which ones do you hate? Want to read?

Cinematic Geekfest Of 2012
VedaSloan replied to castle's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I'm glad I'm not the only one. PS. I still haven't watched the Crow. And now that I know it started as a graphic novel, I'd rather go read the novel! Also, this gives me an idea to start a thread about graphic novels. mwahahaha. -
Cinematic Geekfest Of 2012

That was my big issue with Nolan's Batman--The Joker. Don't get me wrong, Heath Ledger did a great job, but for me, The Joker is supposed to insane, but hilariously so. Less-psycho, more clown! Also, part of me feels like if Ledger hadn't kicked the bucket so soon after, people might have been more inclined to criticize his role. But he's dead now, so people would rather go on and on about how amazing he was. -
Cinematic Geekfest Of 2012

I'm not really excited about any of those movies! I find I am always a little disappointed when it comes to big budget action blockbusters such as these. The Expendables was kinda fun (they reeled me in by having Arnie and Dolph in the same film!) but a sequel? I will pass. And I'm with you castle as far as the Christopher Nolan Batman's go. TERRIBLE. For me, Michael Keaton is always Batman and Batman Returns is the best Batman EVER. Laugh at me if you will, but the movie I'm looking forward to watching in 2012 is The Hunger Games. It's based off the teen series of the same name and it's got a very Battle Royale feel to it (12 Districts send two tributes [boy and a girl] to the Capitol to do battle against the other tributes to the death). It's got the same actress that was in Winter's Bone (if you haven't seen it, RENT IT ASAP). One that I'm really not looking forward to in 2012? The remake of Total Recall with Colin Farrell. That sounds like a disaster and a half. Plus, all the nostalgia and love I have for the original (there is a baby photo of me that my Dad swears looks like Kuato) I feel will be ruined with this shitty remake. NO MORE REMAKES HOLLYWOOD. And especially, please stop remaking perfectly good foreign films because people don't want to read subtitles. SERIOUSLY. Just stop. To end, a photo of Kuato, in case you forgot! -

Location rating in recommendations
VedaSloan replied to Gabriella Laurence's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I've always wondered how much location matters. I have a feeling (based on some comments from clients) that older gentlemen may be reluctant to go to incalls in certain areas, particularly if these areas are/or used to be considered sketchy. I say this as someone whose incall is located near Chinatown and who has had people ask me if I feel safe living in that neighbourhood. I have only lived in Ottawa since 2006, so what it might have been like before I moved here, I have no idea, though I've heard bad things. I've personally never had a problem, not even walking around very late at night by myself. As for now, the area is becoming pretty gentrified. Condos, gourmet sandwich shops, etc. -

Sex tools for couple

The we-vibe can certainly be a fun addition to any couple's sex life. Personally, I enjoy wearing it while my partner stimulates me anally, but that's just me. -
Clients with Disabilities
VedaSloan replied to SamanthaEvans's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I would very much like to expand my business so that I deal with primarily persons with disabilities. I just haven't quite figured out how to do that yet. I've had quite a few clients with disabilities over the years, though I think the most notable would be a client I saw recently, who was Deaf-Blind. He came to my incall with his home-care nurse, who had helped him get there. She was pretty great as well. Told me I was wonderful for doing this, etc. She didn't stay, just dropped him off and then came back to get him afterwards. I even learned the Deaf Blind manual alphabet (basically, you spell out words on their hand)--because we would otherwise not be able to communicate. I have to say, it is an entirely different experience communicating entirely through touch. In terms of what I need, I just need to know ahead of time what your specific needs are. With this particular client, I knew I was going to have to book extra time because it would take much longer to talk to each other.
