  1. I have plans to add the first stanza of one of my favourite poems (And death shall have no dominion by Dylan Thomas) to my right arm, next to Mr. Skelly (the skeleton on my right forearm). Right now, I'm really big on putting poetry on my body. There is an e.e. cummings poem I've always wanted to tattoo as well (i like your body when it is with your), but I'm saving that for much later. I've got plans to do a sleeve of mythological goddesses/stories as well. I've got the Quetzecoatl wristband, and I want to add this awesome black-line Athena from off the Francois Vase, Tlazlteotl (the "filth-eater"), maybe the myth of Artemis and Actaeon (he saw her bathing, which was forbidden and so she forbade him speech--if he tried to speak, he would be turned into a stag, and when he tried to call out to his hunting party, he was turned into a stag and torn apart by hunting dogs), maybe Medusa.
  2. I've seen mods on people in their 70's. I don't think this type of thing has an age restriction. And it's certainly not restricted to women either. Plenty of guys have body mods. One look in the galleries at BME proves that. http://www.bme.com/ My interest in tattoos specifically has mostly been purely aesthetic--my body is a canvas and I'm going to cover it in things that are beautiful/mean something to me.
  3. Considering the nature of the business, you may want to reconsider inviting non-CERB members. Others may not want to out themselves to people who are not CERB members.
  4. My dad's old favourite: why do you park in a driveway and drive on a parkway?
  5. I couldn't go and I'm so bummed about it. I've been reading Nikki's updates on Twitter/Facebook. The arguments against decrim just seem so ridiculous to me, I find it hard to believe that anyone with any sort of intelligence would fall for them.
  6. We've had contact with LE numerous times, particularly regarding the sweeps in Hintonburg and Vanier, etc. As a result of the research we published in December, the Human Rights Commission was called in to investigate the alleged abuse of sex workers at the hands of Ottawa police and we were in contact then and they could have spoken with us. Instead, they opted for a PR campaign: rather than make actual changes to policy, they've simply hired a social worker to be present at the station after they've done sweeps to help talk to the women. And that is supposed to somehow make everyone forget about the awful shit they've done.
  7. That's totally my 'hood. I need to go down and have a look because I definitely didn't notice.
  8. All this rib talk and getting sauce all over your face reminds me of a scene from Wet Hot American Summer, where Elizabeth Banks' character has bbq sauce all over her face and she wants to makeout:
  9. This annoyed me as well--though I think he's confused and thinks managers and pimps are the same thing.
  10. I can't say for sure if we've spoken to that particular fellow, but we've definitely been in contact with Vern White a number of times prior to this.
  11. I worked for an agency for awhile, and since half of the fee for the hour went to the agency, any extra cash that came my way was mine to keep. So my vote is for a tip equal to the tip+gift.

  14. As someone who almost NEVER books by phone, or even speaks to clients before the appointment, I haven't had any problems booking via text or email. It's how I've always done it. I'm really not much for phone conversations. Booking via text is no different than booking by phone. You still have the guys number and how he approaches the text can be judged the same way you might judge his phone etiquette. I don't know about the rest of you, but when you've received as many texts/emails as I have, you learn to read between the lines.
  15. Just reading this thread made me tired. I admire all you runners. You won't ever catch me running. I'd knock myself out with my massive boobs.
  16. OK that was adorable. Also love that you tried to make an envelope, arts 'n' crafts style.
  17. Consider this reply from the "real" me, from my personal life, but neither of my partners has to hide their pooning money from me, because I know all about it. And often make suggestions about who they should see. Haha. Communication people! It can work wonders.
  18. For those of us who accept text booking and answer questions via text, sometimes the way guys approach it can be really irritating. You should think of it like an instant email, but shorter. Include your name, and ask if the lady is available for your preferred time. Please do not text random one-liners such as, "hey baby," or "hey, how are you?" I'm great, who are you? I understand that this may be some guys way of trying to start a conversation, but this isn't the best way to approach it. Also, unless I blocked your number, I do not keep your info in my phone, so when you text me, I have no idea who you are. I try to remember numbers, but I'm not a machine! *insert robot smiley here* Ladies, other suggestions, comments? Guys, thoughts?
  19. Sincere requests I will generally respond to within 12-24 hours. During the school year, however, it takes me longer to get back to people, usually 24-48 hours. Things like "hi, baby, what's up?" I will not respond to. I was going to say something about texting, but I think that could be an entire thread, so I'll just make a new thread.
  20. I am going to Vancouver in July sometime! I am super excited because I'm going to visit my best friend who I haven't seen in too long (he's doing his PhD at UBC). I will definitely try to meet some of the Vancouver ladies (SamanthaEvans I'm looking at you!) while I'm there. From July 3-7, I'm volunteering for the Women's Worlds Congress, which I'm also super excited about. http://www.womensworlds.ca/ Other than that, I plan to spend the summer reading and relaxing.
