Your best birthday present?

Just out of curiosity, what made it so great? Was it an awesome vibrator, or just the sentiment? -
Your best birthday present?
VedaSloan replied to VedaSloan's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Haha, well, in the original, red was expendable, but in TNG, red is command. Obviously the robes were based on the original though, so yes, getting red would have been a dealbreaker. -
What's everyone reading these days?
VedaSloan replied to VedaSloan's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I just finished Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris. I loved it, it was too funny. It's perfect for reading on the toilet, haha, because it is made up of short little autobiographical stories. Also, that's about the only time I have to read things that aren't textbooks. -
Ack! Sorry Cat.

My partner got me this awesome Star Trek bathrobe for my upcoming 28th birthday. I think this is the fucking coolest thing ever. Command gold, no less. What can I say? Rank has its privileges ;) http://www.thinkgeek.com/tshirts-apparel/miscellaneous/e73b/ So what's the best present anyone has ever given you? It doesn't have to be a birthday present, any awesome present you've gotten for whatever reason will do :)

breast milk ice cream...
VedaSloan replied to VedaSloan's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
There was a little Asian cartoon to go with it when I read this article on Jezebel originally and in the cartoon they had women on their hands and knees and some guy "milking" their breasts into buckets. According to the article, the women were happy to donate their breast milk. My question is, what about their babies? Are they getting the breast milk shaft now because their mother donated it all to the ice cream parlour? -
I'm reference friendly!
VedaSloan replied to Megan'sTouch's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Though, I do not require references myself, I am happy being a reference if someone asks. I also recommend other escorts if I am unable to accommodate you and can say that clients appreciate this and will come back to see you. -

I am appalled....
VedaSloan replied to Capital Hunter's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I wish I could say this surpised me, but it doesn't. Prior to 1983, "mistaken belief" was a valid defense (that is, if a guy argued that he thought she consented or was willing, he had a mistaken belief in her consent), and you could rape your wife, as marital rape was not a crime under the rape laws at that period in time. Not only that, but to actually prosecute a rape, the complainant had to be female, the accused had to be male, they couldn't be married, and vaginal penetration had to occur. The complaint also had to be made immediately after it happened. These laws have obviously changed, but that doesn't mean the mentality of the judges prosecuting the cases has. -
Do you believe in life after death?

I saw that yesterday and almost choked on my food. -
This is just another rant from me regarding "check-ins" (I'm not trying to put down the OP for suggesting it, this is just how I feel about this sort of thing in general). I get the idea that maybe if you're out somewhere, you want to let people know, so if they're free, they can stop by and see you. However, that's what texts are for. If you want someone to come hang out with you, text a friend! Don't check-in on Facebook, because quite frankly, I doubt anyone gives a shit. I don't mean to say that no one cares about you (the person checking-in), but there is this assumption with check-ins that if you check-in, people are going to be interested. While I try to clean out my FB profile periodically, there are still people there who I don't even see regularly, and why should they be spammed with my check-ins, if they don't even live in the city I do? The whole concept of check-ins annoys me for the simple fact that it cuts out the actual interaction. Don't call your friends and tell them you'd like to get together, just check-in because any ol' person will do!

Why would you want a bunch of strangers knowing where you are? To me, this just seems like it has huge potential to attract stalkers. I never really understood doing it on Facebook either. I mean, if I'm not actually physically hanging out with you, why do I give a shit where you are? Sometimes technology gives us shit we don't need.

I've only had a few French clients, and they all spoke English well enough for us to get by. I've had a few Chinese clients though who spoke no English or French and in those cases we sort of just feel each other out, literally. Haha. I took French until the end of high school, but have subsequently lost most of it. Since then, I've become fairly fluent in Italian, so to make myself sound cool, we'll say I'm bilingual. Haha.

Civil partnership on facebook?
VedaSloan replied to Malika Fantasy's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Just did a quick google search, and yep, "civil partnership" is the equivalent of gay marriage. I was just happy when they included "open relationship" as an option. -
How "poor" have you been?
VedaSloan replied to Dorinda Bloom's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I am currently "poor." I owe the university about 3000 still for tuition (my intentions had been to make this money during the summer, but then my mom got really sick and I was sending money to my parents to help out). I didn't apply for OSAP in time, so I'm still trying to work off that debt. I'm lucky that my partner is currently supporting me; he pays our rent, and internet bills. The time that I have to escort is limited and what I make from that goes to my cell phone bill and to food and if I can, towards my school debt. I'm not starving or anything, but there isn't any extra cash lying around either. I don't own a credit card because I wouldn't be able to pay any of it off. I'm just getting more stressed about it as the end of term approaches because if I don't pay that 3G by then, the university will not release my grades or allow me to register for the next term. These are the times when extras get cut; waxes get put off, I start shaving the sides of my head myself, rather than having my hairdresser do it, socializing with friends involves loitering in places for free and I start eating the same cheap shit over and over--like weiners and beans, or mr. noodles with what I like to call the cock sauce (it's just a sweet spicy type sauce you can get in Chinatown for super cheap--it's Cock Brand, meaning it's got a giant rooster on the label, hence why I call it the cock sauce), pasta with nothing but margarine and a bit of parmesan, etc. -
What would you do?
VedaSloan replied to explorer69's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
This happened once when I first started, literally, about a month in. I wrote down the appointment for the wrong day and when I realized what had happened, was too embarrassed to contact the client and say so. Being new, I really didn't know what the protocol should be for my error. These days, if I were to make such an error (it could happen, I am busy with many school deadlines), I would contact the client and apologize profusely and offer a free session.
