Sorry Phaedrus, didn't realize you'd already linked to it! My personal thoughts are that the message is a good one and while it may not help EVERY teen facing the same issues, it hopefully helps some. Though, I do remember hating the advice "it will get better," because when you're in that moment, it feels like it will NEVER get better, all you can think about is the present. That can be frustrating when you want a solution NOW.

does anyone believe...

And that's totally what would happen to. I'd be tearing stuff up until I figured it out in a maniacal, creeped-out rage. And then I'd be annoyed at the mess I made. -

If I was hearing strange banging noises in my closet, my first thought would be, holy shit I have a poltergeist. And then I'd creep myself out to the point where I couldn't sleep until I'd figured out how to stop the noise. The fantastical side of me totally wants to believe in ghosts and other paranormal stuff, but my logical (and really no fun) side won't let me. But as others have said, it's probably just pipes or wood shrinkage. -
I don't think there are too many GLBT folks on here, but I'm going to post this anyway. I'm just curious as to what everyone thinks of the Dan Savage "It Gets Better" campaign that was started following Tyler Clementi's death. There seem to be two opposing sides and I'm not saying either is right, but I'd like to know what everyone else thinks. On one side of the debate are the folks who are against the campaign and their reasons have been summed up nicely here: http://tempcontretemps.wordpress.com/2010/09/30/why-i-dont-like-dan-savages-it-gets-better-project-as-a-response-to-bullying/ To counter that, one of the Jezebel writers did a piece as well: http://jezebel.com/5655406/defending-dan-savages-it-gets-better-project Both articles have Dan Savage's clip for viewing.

Rehab is complete bullshit. The way it is set up allows people to excuse their behaviour because they have "a disease." It's not going to work because the premise sucks in the first place. And forcing them--they won't even participate because they don't want to be there. This is why when they are deciding who gets the next bed in detox, they pick based on who they think will have the best chance of succeeding, not necessarily the person who needs it the most.

"Best of" threads
VedaSloan replied to Megan'sTouch's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
We post photos of ourselves in our albums as a way to advertise, but the threads, largely all started by you, I might add, are mostly posted to by hobbiests. And my only issue with the best of threads, as I've said before, but which all of you seem to refuse to acknowledge is that they are totally exclusive! Us fat gals had to start our own thread just to be appreciated in the same way! And by posting only parts of a woman in a best of thread, totally denies that she is more than just that part. Why does everyone fail to see this? Again, I'm not saying this is being done on purpose, but jesus christ, open your eyes. -
"Best of" threads
VedaSloan replied to Megan'sTouch's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Oh blah blah it's a celebration of beauty. Beauty encompasses ALL of a woman, not just her ass or breasts. These threads are not about beauty but having a nice collection of wank off material all in one place. I'm not saying that wank off material is a bad thing, but let's call a spade a spade shall we? -
"Best of" threads

They celebrate a very specific type of beauty, not ALL beauty. And it IS dehumanizing to simply post parts of a woman. It is the same as advertising which does the same (by advertising I mean, commercials, billboards, etc, not specific advertising on CERB). This is simply my feeling on these threads, which I avoid for these very reasons. I find them offensive. -
"Best of" threads

You completely missed the point. We're not saying looking is wrong, but you do have to make entire threads based on only one body part? Not to mention these supposed "best of" threads which some of you claim appreciate all types, do not include larger women (with the exception of the thread the larger ladies started ourselves--which was not about specific body parts, but each lady as a whole). -

It is slightly dehumanizing to be reduced to a sum of parts. -
SA, you are making generalizations. Street level prostitution is much more complicated and is certainly not all forced. The implication that all street workers are drug addicted is a stereotype! While I am not saying that drug addiction is not a problem for some workers, it cannot be applied to all street workers. Street level work includes working clubs and hotel bars--not just standing on a corner soliciting drive-bys. Some choose street level work because it is more transaction based and they prefer it to doing incall work which lends itself to more couch time. And as Carrie Moon once pointed out to me in another thread, pimps can control indoor workers as well, including some who use CERB. Additionally, the living off the avails charge was largely used to target family and friends of sex workers in order to get them to give up client lists, so much so that Ontario courts do not allow living off the avails to be used against family members. I obviously support the New Zealand model.

You can get it at Venus Envy, as well as Kimonos :) Venus Envy is a sex shop and bookstore on the corner of Bank and Lisgar. -

WOW that was awesome! Nice find. Personally, I love this commercial for Cullman Liquidators in Alabama. I posted it once before, and it still cracks me up.

Condom varieties....and lubes
VedaSloan replied to 40ishsxaddict's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
For condoms I stick to Crowns--they're not thick or smelly--and they're pink :) For lube I swear by Pjur Woman (it's silicone based and lasts FOREVER) and if I'm playing with toys or there is going to be FS action, I use the water based version Pjur Woman Aqua. -
Yo, yo yo. Before we get all insulting, English IS NOT her first language, which is why her spelling and grammar is not up to snuff. And I think that a lot of what she has said has been misinterpreted because of the language she has chosen, where better words/explanation might have cleared things up, she doesn't have the capacity to do so at this point. So give the girl a break would ya? Now to the point of the thread: Advertising per month: about $150 Waxing: $50 every three weeks Haircut: $35 every three weeks Cell: $100 a month Website hosting: free! I don't get my nails done because I find it too difficult to deal with condoms/gloves and I can't text/type at all with them. My makeup is super lowkey--some blush and lipstain and that's about it. My tuition is my biggest expense right now, as I still owe the university $1400 for this semester because I couldn't pay via credit card. So pretty much any money I make right now is going directly to that.

Constitutional Changes - Next Action Steps
VedaSloan replied to cat's topic in Legal discussion, cases & questions
Cat you beat me to it! I would also suggest writing letters to newspaper editors. I've already emailed the PM, and a number of MP's. -
It's the internet, you can portray yourself however you please. Just because everyone plays nice on CERB, doesn't necessarily mean they play nice in real life. Food for thought :)
