  1. Taking a break from grading student papers. I just did four in a row that did not cite/source anything. Bad first years!
  2. Only the hard-copy petition on Elizabeth May's website can be presented in Parliament. You have to print it out and get actual signatures. I'm not saying don't sign the change.org one, but just know that she can't present that in parliament.
  3. I keep a client list. It includes the bare minimum of info--phone number, first name and how the session went. It's not on my phone. I also keep accounting records, which include the date, a first name, the duration of the appointment and the donation given. I'd never release any of this info. I also like to think that most clients are able to distinguish individuals (eg. Terri Jean Bedford) from the community as a whole. What I mean is, if TJB releases her list, this is her individual action, not one that everyone agrees with. It also doesn't mean that the rest of us are about to follow in her footsteps if she does.
  4. Some ladies have stated they would not respond to texts like this, but I would be perfectly fine with a text like this, although I would ask for a name. It's important to keep in mind that we all screen differently, making the interactions entirely different. If you're contacting someone who requires references, this would not be an appropriate beginning, for example.
  5. Nathalie Rose Emily Rushton (if she's in town) Kyra Graves me :) It would help if you could give us more information as to what kind of woman you're looking for? blond, brunette, spinner, curvy? tattoos or tattoo free? fetish friendly?
  6. Privacy is a privilege, not a right. Although I do not support TJB outing clients, I get where she's coming from. That being said, outing clients only makes things worse for sex workers. And honestly, does anyone really think that outing Con clients will stop Bill C36 from becoming law? NOPE. So quit adding fuel to the fire TJB.
  7. BYZANTIUM. Pretty under-the-radar vamp flick. AND IT IS AWESOME. One of the main characters, Clara Webb, is a badass fucking prostitute/vampire. Don't fuck with her, or she will cut off your head:
  8. And to add to what fortunateone has said, buzzer entry buildings often have security cams in the lobby that you can view on your TV to get an idea of the client before you buzz him in.
  9. My Backpage ad consists of an introductory line, followed by rates, availability and my website. Location is in the title of the post. It could not be more simple. Do I still have guys calling me outside my POSTED availability? Yup. Do I still have guys calling and asking my rates? Yup. Do I still have guys asking what area I'm in? Yup. As I said before, if you are actually serious about meeting me, you'll read the info. The rest are WOTS and I don't have time for that.
  10. I can request no calls after 10pm until I'm blue in the face and there will still be some clueless fool who is calling at midnight. I put it out there because the legit clients *do* read what we've written. At this point, I don't even bother with guys who obviously haven't read the website.
  11. Guys who have to point out that they're "nice guys" usually aren't. Case in point: http://www.shakesville.com/2007/12/explainer-what-is-nice-guy.html
  12. Outlander is pretty good--stays pretty faithful to the books so far. The Leftovers is interesting, if not depressing. Although, I hate the title. Also based on a book. I just want more Orphan Black.
  13. You give them an inch, they'll take a mile. Charge a social fee if you're comfortable with that, otherwise, send them packing. They sound like WOTs (waste of time) to me.
  14. I just read this really great article, "In Defense of Faking It." http://www.playboy.com/articles/in-defense-of-faking-it1 Discuss.
  15. I hope the antis keep up with this. It shows their true colours. Plus, this is nothing new. They've been at this since the 70's. I've been called a traitor to the female sex, a collaborator, in collusion with the patriarchy, a racist, supporting colonialism, a liar, a member of the pimp lobby and just a plain old whore. The best course of action is DO NOT ENGAGE. Ignore and block.
  16. How is this any different than a man doing DATY and the SP starting her period unexpectedly? Would you react the same way? She didn't know her period was starting (not all women have regular periods, FYI). This has happened before and honestly, no big deal. Mature men recognize that this is a fact of life and don't get all worked up about it and storm out and short a provider the money she's owed. I get the hygiene aspect, I do, but are you seriously trying to tell me this is worse than the cheese dick I've experienced where I had to literally swallow my own vomit to keep going? Let's be real here. One is a hygiene crisis and one is simply a fact of life. This seems to be an offense based on the fact that she didn't tell you she was ragging it. Sorry, none of your business. You're not owed a warning either. How an escort chooses to conduct her business is her business. Not all women can afford to take up to a week off of work. And I've sponged it tons of times in my six years of working. I'm sorry this happened to you, but in the grand scheme of things it's an anomaly.
  17. I keep all sizes on hand up to XL. I also have latex-free condoms and the female condom on hand. However, it is a good idea for the gent who is larger (or smaller than average) to bring a few of his own on the off-chance that I've run out and haven't had a chance to re-stock my supplies. Because smaller or larger than average gents are not the norm, I keep fewer of those sizes on hand because I hate having to throw out large numbers of expired condoms. Which means I can also run out of them quicker should I have a spate of large dudes call me. Again though, most escorts (I think) would prefer to supply their own condoms to ensure that they're stored properly and that someone hasn't tampered with them. In which case, it might be a better idea to for the gent to ask beforehand if the provider has a specific condom brand on hand.
  18. Responding to the OP's question with regard to everyone chiming in with a similar opinion--I suspect that not everyone reads each reply in the thread fully but rather reads the OP and then responds immediately.
  19. I follow other sex workers all over the world; sex worker organizations; various magazines; random joke accounts/esoteric accounts; some news outlets; porn stuff; cat stuff I use twitter to link people to sex work related articles, talk about sex worker rights, a few things from my personal life (mostly related to school complaints or my cat), and to post selfies (nude or otherwise). I'm a sucker though for things like @Riker Googling, wherein all his tweets are things Riker (from Star Trek:TNG) might google: "rememdies low gravity erectile dysfunction" or "kobayashi maru cheat codes."
  20. I love any show to do with the supernatural and/or apocalypse, even if it's terrible. With that in mind, here are a few I've been enjoying: Witches of East End Penny Dreadful The Strain Under the Dome Falling Skies (I obviously also love American Horror Story, the Walking Dead, True Blood, etc, but I'm pretty sure those have been mentioned).
  21. Your feelings don't matter. How I feel about sex work, how you feel about sex work, how the antis feel about sex work--doesn't matter. You can write your letters about being happy until you're blue in the face, but they still don't matter. We can certainly feel offended and upset, but at the end of the day what matters is the laws cause harm. When you view sex work as work, feelings are irrelevant to the discussion. What matters are labour rights.
  22. The big difference-you're paying me. Being intimate and sexual is a service that I provide. How you experience the moment and how the provider experiences the moment are two totally different things. This is my job. I have a life outside of the job. I may enjoy and have fun with you as client. But because we have fun together, doesn't mean I should do it for free. We can enjoy our work and still want to get paid.
  23. So the bill has passed second reading with minor amendment to the section about solicitation--they changed it from illegal "anywhere a minor could reasonably expected to be present" to illegal "outside schools, parks or daycares." Goes to the Senate next.
