What really pisses me off is when I'm walking on the sidewalk and a group of two or three people are coming towards me and make no effort to walk in single file, forcing me either into the road or onto someone's lawn to get around them. Something else that's really started to irk me are those over-sized, ridiculous strollers that take up the entire sidewalk. And then you look in and they've got one teeny little baby in there. You'd think with the size of that stroller, she'd have more than one baby in there. I also hate when 40-something obese women sit in the spaces for the elderly or pregnant on the bus and then complain about how they're not moving for anyone. I will always get up and offer my seat, even if I'm not in priority seating.

Who's in your top five?
VedaSloan replied to VedaSloan's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Yep, and Monica Bellucci, while she does appear in a few French films, is totally Italian. The French film that she's most famous for, or at least to me, is Irreversible. That is one fucked up movie. It goes in reverse like Memento, experiments with camera work and there is a 9 minute anal rape of Bellucci. Really disturbing. Also really unnecessary. I mean, come on, do you really need to have it on camera? Can't we just imply she got raped instead of glamourizing it? -
Ottawa Report Denies Bias in Naming Accused Prostitutes
VedaSloan replied to a topic in Ottawa Discussion - Escorts
Oops, my bad, I actually KNEW that Jane school existed, I know the women's outreach worker who talks to them about HIV and Hep C prevention. From what I've heard from her, it's very shame-based and is supposed to encourage them to leave the biz. The double standard occurs because more men than women are offered the option of a diversion program. -
Maybe some SP's aren't that resourceful, but you can get ALL/ANY supplies you need from various AIDS and/or sexual health clinics for free. And I'm not just talking condoms: female condoms, dental dams and latex gloves are available also. If any of the Ottawa ladies need the hookup, PM me.

Who's in your top five?

I hate to burst your bubbles, but Laetitia Casta is Brazilian I think, and Naomi Watts is not American, but Australian. -
When I first started, I advertised on CL, but these days it's too much hassle. I'm sorry you got ripped off. I hope it doesn't leave a bad taste in your mouth so much so that you quit the hobby.

I work for the Ottawa Playgirls and know that Tracey (who runs OPG) would never do you wrong. If you're looking for something specific she can recommend the appropriate woman. OPG for the win!

Ottawa Report Denies Bias in Naming Accused Prostitutes
VedaSloan replied to a topic in Ottawa Discussion - Escorts
They also spread malicious lies that undermine sex worker safety (things like by seeing pros you are contributing to the spread of STD's and AIDS). It's fucked up that only the pro goes to jail and the john goes to diversion school. Talk about a double standard. Also, Ottawa had the super awesome (sarcasm) idea to send out Community Health Notices to people seen to be soliciting pros or frequenting a known stroll to let them know that they are encouraging prostitution in a family neighbourhood and again, spreading disease. You can probably find the letter on the police website. I think it was posted previously. -
How rare is Deep Throat?
VedaSloan replied to Cumquat's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I can deepthroat. Like Emma said though, it's a ymmv thing. It takes a bit of work (mostly concentration) and I haven't got it to the point where I can do it quickly (like, regular blowjob rhythm but deepthroating every time). I certainly give it my all, and sometimes there is gagging (usually when I try to do it quickly). -
Happy Birthday Cumquat
VedaSloan replied to Emma Alexandra's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I wanted to think of a cute nickname or shortening of your username, but calling you "Cummy" doesn't really work. HA. Anyways, have a fabulous birthday, fuck like you've got six months to live and above all: remember that you are awesome. -
First, thanks for posting this Susie. I wish more women realized that they can see escorts and it's totally okay. It saddened me to read many of the comments. Apparently when you pay for sex, you automatically become some degenerate who has some issue with "normal" relationships (and what is normal anyway?). Why can't people realize that no matter what type of relationship you choose, in some way you ARE paying for it? Marriage is just whoring yourself to one person for as long as it lasts. It is nothing more than a legal form of prostitution in which one party supports the other, or there is mutual support, with the understanding that you can get laid whenever (getting laid whenever though, that part is of course, in theory). Dating is the same thing. Men and women the world over trade dinner and drinks for sex. It may not be implicitly stated, but that's what it really comes down to.

I vote that we commemorate our sexy history with some, you guessed it, SEX. Now go out and fuck!

The first paragraph put me off. "You're working the street, you're not expensive." Ugh. I skimmed the rest. The laws DO undermine our ability to work safely, just as they violate our human rights, both under the Canadian Charter and the International Charter of Human Rights. Instead of thinking of something smart to say, I'll just include this quote from the short story "Staged" by Janelle Galazia: "With a few notable exceptions, people do not get into the sex industry for reasons that have anything to do with desire for sex, any more than a person enters janitorial work for a love of cleaning. The exchange between worker and customer is a complicated negotiation of need, illusion, denial, boundaries, and specific neuroses; but central to the exchange is cash. By keeping the debate about sex work focused on sex, and not work, the true nature of the issue is obscured. The arguments rage around ideas of obscenity, appropriate and inappropriate sexualities, representations of femininity, notions of morality: Important issues in their own right, but in the context of the sex work debate they function more as a smoke screen that keeps us from confronting what is really going on. In this framework women are sluts instead of workers, or victims instead of cognizant participants in an economy. The real question here is, why are our options so lame? What are the economic realities that make the sex industry the most viable choice for many people? That's where feminism comes in. That's where outrage becomes appropriate. The wage gap, welfare "reform", sexist and racist hiring practices, the decline in the real value of minimum wage, lack of universal access to healthcare or rehab services, and the widening disparity between the rich and the poor: These are the things that undermine the social fabric and degrade the status of women more than me tramping around in heels could ever hope to. We have to ask ourselves, what is so compelling about blaming naked women for their own oppression? What kinds of confrontation are women avoiding by interrogating each other rather than actual power structures?"

Back From North Of 60
VedaSloan replied to A***** A*****'s topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Loved the one of the Brothel tour! Welcome back :) -
Back home, there is this creek that I used to drive by all the time that used to be part of the underground railroad, and it's called Negro Creek for that reason, and yeah, people wanted to change the name of that one too. That's the name it's always had. I asked my gran about it, it was called that back in her day too.
