  1. There are a few SPs who make regular visits to the island... Katherine comes to mind.
  2. Keep it up! I look forward to more of your entertaining and informative posts, as always.
  3. It may not really be that difficult if one were to have a certain frame of mind, therefore making a concerted effort to avoid the aforementioned letter in their written dialogue.
  4. Just another uninformed / misinformed member of the general public... no wonder our industry gets such a bad rap!
  5. Unfortunately, I think it would have caused problems as he had his number printed in various publications as an emergency responder (his occupation). Changing his number would have led to confusion and a potential loss of business.
  6. I've always found the opposite. When I was with my ex girlfriend for instance, she liked being on top since it gave her more control over the action and heightened her ability to orgasm. The thing is, it also decreased the sensation for me, although I was able to last longer because of it. However, for the record I prefer the missionary position. It feels the best and IMO it's also the most intimate.
  7. It depends on what it is... with a lot of things, you get what you pay for, so yes quality is important when you're dealing with things like electronics for instance. However, some things are very subjective. On one hand, I wear Tommy Hilfiger polo shirts because they're comfortable and I like the style. On the other hand, I'm just as likely to shop at Zellers, Walmart or Winners for a pair of jeans. I just buy what I feel like, but am not too conscious of "branding" or "status". At the end of the day, as long as you're happy with it, who really cares what anyone else thinks?
  8. You were absolutely brilliant, Nikki!
  9. There may yet be a silver lining in all of this. If/when the case goes to the Supreme Court, there is still a chance that the decision will favour Himmel's original ruling, and the soliciting aspect will be struck down as well. After all, the spirit of the ruling suggests that a lady's personal safety / right to work in a safe environment trumps the occasional "nuissance", and I use that term loosely, created by street prostitution. Once upon a time, Halifax did indeed have a street prostitution issue (back in the late 80's and early 90's) However, this was due mainly to organized groups of pimps exploiting young and vulnerable women. In the busts of 1992 in Halifax and Toronto, the police essentially eradicated the majority of the problem. Since then, street prostitution has been barely noticeable in the city, and police have little interest in making arrests. With regard to incalls / brothels, I'd love to see an agency set up shop that would be similar to those found in Germany for instance. Hopefully, legislation will not relegate these enterprises to the outskirts of the city, as it would make it rather inconvenient and affect traffic volume. I wonder if perhaps the ruling itself would embolden agencies to consider opening in the downtowns and surrounding areas regardless. I know of incalls that operated for many years under the existing laws with relative impunity. Everyone knew they were there, but LE showed little interest, aside from the occasional bust stemming from public pressure at the time. However, in general it would seem that the police would rather focus their resources elsewhere, and with the new changes in the laws I suspect this trend will continue.
  10. Congratulations, Emily! That is indeed quite an accomplishment.
  11. So, what about escort agencies that offer both incall and outcall? Would they fall under the new provisions, or would the incall aspect still be considered illegal?
  12. What could the Federal Government have to gain by sending this to the Supreme Court, aside from delaying the inevitable? Chances are good that the Supreme Court will uphold most if not all of the two lower court's findings. Moreover, as it stands right now, the decision is only binding in Ontario. If the case is heard by the Supreme Court, then its decision will automatically apply to Canada as a whole, which is great for all the other provinces and territories. I feel the Federal Government should just accept the ruling and act accordingly for the interests of all involved. My only concern stems from those anti-prostitution groups that are calling on the Government to enact a new law that would effectively make the buying and selling of sex illegal. Is that a real possibility, or something that would likely never come to fruition?
  13. Just a few legal questions here: Considering that the Court Of Appeal has given the Federal Government a year to rewrite Canada's prostitution laws, must the Government abide by the ruling, or can it seek to write laws that will make prostitution 100% illegal in Canada? Given that the Supreme Court is unlikely to overturn a ruling by The Court Of Appeal, what does the present decision mean for the rest of Canada at the moment? Are the laws concerning the legality of brothels now in a state of limbo in other provinces, and for how long?
  14. The Ontario Court Of Appeal has struck down the ban on brothels, but has upheld the ban on soliciting for selling sex. Furthermore, they have given the Federal Government one year to re-write the laws concerning prostitution in this country, if the Government chooses to do so.
  15. I can definitely attest to this... Allyson is absolutely incredible. Stunning good looks, silky smooth skin, perfect body and a great attitude to match. She's such a natural and eager to please, I found it hard to believe it was her first time as an escort... Needless to say, I think I've found a new favorite! :)
  16. That's great news... it's been a long time coming. Let's all hope for the best!
  17. Great advice, Cristy... this should be required reading for anyone starting out in the hobby!
  18. Hi Missie, I hope that you're finding the information in this thread helpful. I think you've made the right choice by beginning your quest here on Cerb. You've found an upstanding, caring community with the wealth of information and knowledge that will aid you in the transition to becoming an SP, should you decide to do so. Personally, I think it's great that there is a continuous influx of new ladies who are willing to try out a new career in the adult entertainment industry. It brings new voices to Cerb, along with new opinions, ideas etc. which helps keep the conversations here flowing. I've always felt that it's a privilege to be able to see the Ladies of Cerb, and I'm grateful for their time and companionship. That said, I go to great lengths to treat everyone I see with the utmost courtesy and respect. I feel it's my role as a hobbyist to make the lady feel comfortable and "at home" for the time that she is with me. I basically do the same things to prepare for an appointment as I would for a real date in the civilian world. I agree with everything in this thread so far... it's important to do your research beforehand, get a feel for the client, go through proper screening procedures and so forth. I might also suggest that if you're apprehensive about working in a small town, you may consider traveling to another location for "tours". For instance, if you were to visit Halifax for a week, it's likely that you wouldn't have to worry about running into someone you know. Anyway, I hope you're beginning to feel more comfortable with the idea of taking the plunge, and I look forward to your contributions on Cerb. Take care...
