WIT Congrats for 1000+ posts
Kyra.Graves replied to whatsup's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Congratulations WIT! Enjoy some ice wine (and maybe a special dessert!) and enjoy a day off - then get back to posting as the board wouldn't be the same without you. :) -
Sounds like a great night gents. On my last trip to Ottawa I did see a couple of panhandlers near my hotel, now I feel bad that I didn't stop and spare a few dollars if I'd known it was for a dance or two I'd be a little more generous. It's sad I didn't recognize you Cato must have been the silly grin on your face. :-P

Mood music for an outcall appointment
Kyra.Graves replied to RobX's topic in New to this? Things you should know...
Thanks! I change my music up a fair bit around a bit but I've found that having recognizable music helps and putting a variety on helps appeal to everyone (plus I have rather eclectic musical tastes). I put everything from Niel Diamond,Cat Stevens, Annie Lennox, Sting to Thievery Corp, Digable Planets, Bob Marley, Bonobo, Moloko, Lamb, Portishead, and Rokia Traore on there. -
How did you first learn about CERB?

I was talking to this wonderful esoteric guy and he told me about it. -
I turn all the power off  and curse my laptop battery for no longer holding a charge. I then get a book out and am grateful that it's still light out late at night so I can still read a book as I'm afraid to light a candle and add to the heat... even a tea light seems so unbearably hot right now. http://www.cbc.ca/canada/toronto/story/2010/07/06/toronto-power-outages624.html

Calgary man says he beat prostitute in his sleep
Kyra.Graves replied to Kyra.Graves's topic in In the news
It is a real disorder but I have my doubts about this case. Of course all the information hasn't been presented and what the press reports is even less but from the sounds of it this man only became aware of his disorder after he beat this woman. Most with sexsomnia have a history of episodes, visits to a psychiatrist, sleep disturbances, often it's coupled with post-traumatic stress disorder, etc., From what has been reported this man has nothing of the sort, just one serious assault and he is now claiming that he was asleep when he assaulted her so I'm very skeptical, hopefully they will publish more of the case and she will be given a fair trial. http://en.academic.ru/dic.nsf/enwiki/536135 -
They are beautiful aren't they? I was debating them for a long time and then my local store sold out. *sigh* I still stare at them online every so often but thigh highs go out of style so fast that I just couldn't justify that kind of money on something that only lasts a season. Still... *bigger sigh*... oh so pretty! (maybe they didn't need justification, maybe they just needed love and a good forever home?)

cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Crime/2010/06/14/14390896.html CALGARY ? Gary Gordon Yuen testified Monday that he brutally beat a $1,000-a-night prostitute while he slept. He told court he had recollection of his attack on the woman in the master bedroom of his northwest Calgary home. Yuen said he can?t deny repeatedly beating the victim with a baseball bat, choking her unconscious, removing her clothing and sexually assaulting her. But the professional engineer said the Feb. 11, 2007, attack occurred while he was in an altered state of consciousness brought on by a sleep disorder. Defence lawyer Balfour Der plans to call Ontario sleep expert Dr. Colin Shapiro to explain a disorder he calls sexomnia, where people have sex while not awake. Yuen testified he believes that?s what happened to him when he awoke to find he had badly beat a woman he regularly hired at $1,000 a night, who ran naked from his home. ?Dr. Shapiro says that I have a sleep disorder,? Yuen said, while taking the witness stand in his Court of Queen?s Bench trial. Yuen, 47, is charged with aggravated assault, sexual assault, unlawful confinement and choking in connection with the attack on his victim, who can?t be named. The woman told court last year she was beaten with a bat, knocked off Yuen?s bed, choked until she lost consciousness and then awoke to find Yuen on top of her. She ran naked from his home into frigid winter temperatures and was rescued by a passing driver who got her to police before she was hospitalized. Dr. Pauline Head said the woman?s injuries were so severe she would have died had she not received medical attention. Yuen didn?t deny responsibility for causing the woman?s wounds. ?There?s nobody else that could?ve done it,? he said. Under cross-examination, Crown prosecutor Pam McCluskey asked why Yuen didn?t seek an explanation for his memory gap until he saw Shapiro in January. ?You had a bloody woman on your bed and that didn?t concern you ... that you might do it again?? McCluskey said. ?That didn?t cross my mind,? Yuen said. But he readily admitted hiring the high-priced call girl for sex. ?I didn?t pay her $1,000 to come over and watch news,? he said. Evidence continues on Tuesday.

Something to think about!
Kyra.Graves replied to Meg O'Ryan's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Yeah so my thought of buying stocks, gold, etc. and diversifying my portfolio that's really not going to work with time. *sigh* Here I figured I'd be done all that by about 9am depending on what market I was trading on and could be sitting on a beach sipping mojitos relaxing and staring at the ticker on my phone. Oh wait better yet I'd hire a local to call it out to me while I lie on a solid teak recliner with some gal in a bikini fanning me and another peeling my grapes. ;) Loved ones who needs them when you have some underpaid local from the Caribbean country you just bought a summer house in (for way less than you would pay here btw) calling out the ticker and two ladies standing by in skimpy bikinis drenched in sweat getting paid pennies on the dollar, one fanning you and the other peeling and hand feeding you green seedless grapes. Yep that's what I'd be doing. Curses that you meant time and not cash! :ablow: -
I could go on and on with restaurants but here's a few that are top of mind. I just love good food, nice wine and a great atmosphere. I thought I'd list them by suggestions of type of ambiance, it's just a guideline obviously it's not a hard and fast rule. I went to Didier with some business colleagues before so it wasn't at all romantic but the formal dining lends itself to both atmsopheres, Bohmer would also be suitable for both but being on Ossington it is surrounded by a bunch of bars and clubs so I would select Bohmer if I wanted to take a lady out for cocktails instead. Anyway I hope you like my suggestions! :) Gilead - lunch/brunch The food is fresh and local, the menu changes and it's always a nice relaxed atmosphere, great quality food for your money. The restaurant is owned by Jaime Kennedy and is located just east of the downtown core and a short walk to the distillery district. Bohmer - date night/night out Not much to say, it's one of the hot spots right now, they spent a lot of money renovating the place (I think it was an autobody shop before) and it shows. The atmosphere is still relaxed, you can wear jeans and a nice top, relax have a cocktail and enjoy the evening. The food is amazing and they have been accommodating in regards to dietary requests, they mix a great cocktail. It's on the Ossington strip so if it's a weekend expect a busy 25-45 very mixed crowd, everything from the Toronto hipsters to the dressed to impress ladies & gents. Ossington is an interesting area right now. Didier - romantic date (formal) I was at Didier the other day and it was fantastic, it's classical french food. They currently have a Prix Fixe of 3 courses for $50 with vegan and vegetarian options available if that is your choice which is a great option as well you may bring your own wine should you choose (corkage fee is $20). At Yonge/St.Clair this is midtown, the restaurant is on Yonge St. so parking can be a challenge but taxis are readily available. The restaurant is fairly traditional but a suit and tie are certainly not required. Julies Cuban - romantic date (casual) It's a tiny little restaurant with a funky little patio and the best mojitos and corn fritters around. The decor is nothing fancy, in fact it's downright tacky in some ways but it's tucked into a side street in the west end and it's quiet and and absolute perfect date restaurant. The plates are all shared too so you can sample a lot of dishes though some tell me this can get rather expensive if you have a large appetite, I never really get past 2 dishes but I know some men that get up to 4 or 5 which will add up fast. Someplace I've yet to be but is on my list, I'll have to report back however I do love the concept and with it's pedigree I can't imagine it could go wrong is Ruby Watchco. http://rubywatchco.ca/ If you are coming to Toronto it's definitely a place to check out and again a very reasonable $49 per person for your meal.

Ladies, how many of you have a business plan?
Kyra.Graves replied to a topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Did you have any doubt I did? Business plan, profit model, marketing plan, heck I recently launched my own one woman corporate social responsibility dept. last week. ;) (shameless plug) -
I had to check to see if I linked to the wrong song, sometimes I don't double check my links but Silent Warrior is from The Cross of Changes. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000TDG9LM/ref=dm_sp_alb Don't trust youtubers they'll claim just about anything. ;) http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/enigma/silentwarrior.html Additional Comments: Flutter is actually used as one of the downhill songs in the SSX on Tour games,so that is likely where the reference came from. Between the Lines was in Californication. :D http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonobo_(musician)#Songs_appearances I like some of Me'Shells music but it doesn't have the same acid jazz feel that I enjoy in the Jhelisa track. Soma is great, I'm a Secret Agent and Groove Salad kind of gal. :) I also listen to Shoutcast a lot, it's all about variety (and free listening!) It sounds like we have a lot of the same taste, cheers sir! I raise my glass to you!

Carrie I have some Enigma on my playlist as well, Silent Warrior is one of my favorites. I'm not a big Alicia Keys fan either, I don't feel the need to change the song if she comes on but I have never felt the need to DL any of her songs (let alone pay for one  ) Omegosh - if you liked those be sure to check out some of their other works, Flutter by Bonobo is one of my favorites to play when I'm walking down the city streets, the whole song just sounds like movement. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtJlKrRn3ms Also you might want to look up Rebirth of Cool, it's an older series of compilation CDs that have some really great artists on it. My favorite of the series is Rebirth of Cool Phive which includes the following... Friendly Pressure - Jhelisa Kruder & Dorfmeister - Deep Shit Parts 1 & 2 Freakpower - Turn On, Tune In, Find Joy as well as many of the artists I previously mentioned.

My date playlist is over 3 hours long and it's the same one I use at home when I have a glass of wine and relax in the tub. I won't post the entire thing but here's a few to give you an idea of what's on it. Between the Lines - Bonobo & Bajka http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Rubh9ePs8g Fields of Gold - Sting Gorecki - Lamb http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PILJRHjUVEw To Build a Home - Cinematic Orchestra Cross To Bear - Tricky So Flute - St. Germain http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ksKdE_IKVQ Morning Has Broken - Cat Stevens Angel - Massive Attack http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kaef2NgwqHY No Woman No Cry - Bob Marley http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64QkD5pBWWE Obviously I'm not good at just picking one or two.

I can't believe I read the whole thing. I'll throw my penny in, it's not quite worth 2cents but hey anyone still reading might appreciate a little extra coin for their efforts thus far. I believe a part of the issue is that there is an assumption that all ladies provide the same types of services but the reality is we don't. Some ladies offer very specific sexual services as a main priority and others place the focus on the companionship and some comfortably go between the two. They are two very different business models and two very different providers and asking one to provide the other is the same as going into a Tim Hortons and asking for a steak, likely you are going to be stared at by a confused counter person and if you do receive your steak you won't be happy with it. Now it's believable that someone from another country may not know what's on the menu at a Tims and therefor they are asking simply because they don't know any different and asking is the only way they are going to find what they are really looking for, which I believe a lot of clients fall into this category. They don't have the industry knowledge to understand that not all companions are the same and don't know where to go for a specific style of service (or why they are not receiving what they want from the ladies they see). Many women don't provide cuddling, outside encounters, etc. they prefer to offer a no strings 30min (or 1 hour) date, they are comfortable with the parameters and they enjoy it. Other ladies offer a slightly more rounded experience, it's about building a connection, talking, teasing and engaging the client on levels beyond the physical. Both these types of companion have a market and there are many clients that prefer one over the other. One isn't better than the other, both are equally hard work. It reads to me that the OP typically seeks the former type of companion, someone that doesn't engage in the "GFE" date (unless you define GFE as a type of sexual service, BBBJ, DFK, etc.) but he's finding that lacking now and would like a little more variety, a connection, a real date feel. Perhaps the thread might have gone a little better if someone had explained that ladies that advertise as companion (courtesan, etc.) are more likely to offer that type of experience and the various other ways to determine what type of companion a lady is (keywords, rate structure, etc). The ladies that offer companion services generally have already structured their rates to include "out of bed time" as that is the bulk of service that they provide. Now there are many ladies that bridge the gap and offer both styles of services but not one of the ones I know believes that one is less work than the other, they are just different types of services. I may enjoy going to a movie, having dinner out, etc. but being professional about it means I put a lot of effort into my date, I dress appropriately, I make sure that I've shaved the legs, put on a little makeup, etc. All of that takes time and to make it appear effortless is even more work and expense. If I am working then I make an effort that I do not in my private life, when I visit a friend I dress comfortable, I don't worry about the chipped nails or the hair that is frizzy from the rain but when you are a client I do, it's just good business sense to put your best foot forward. So when someone asks me (and all ladies have heard this before) if you're not doing anything anyway why not make some money instead you are asking me to work. Everyone in every job enjoys having a bit of downtime, so why don't I choose to work when I'm off, for the same reason everyone else does, it's my time to relax and enjoy my private life. When I agree to work then no matter what I am doing whether it's a wine tasting or a few hours locked in a hotel room I am still "on" and making sure that I am representing myself in the best way I can which is work. For those that are client facing in careers they might appreciate this, when a client (especially a new one) asks you out to dinner on a Saturday night you will often hum and haw over it. It's not that you don't like the client, it's not that you don't like eating, it's that you are required to represent your business which requires your "professional image" and you are now unable to enjoy a meal with your college buddies, your hockey team or just relax in your underwear drinking beer and watching the game.

For the ladies in the larger sizes have you tried shopping online? I go for a proper fitting every few months and then do most my lingerie shopping online. The European lines are pretty consistent in their sizing and they have some pretty beautiful lingerie in larger sizes. eg. http://www.fishnets-lingerie.co.uk/products.aspx?productcode=LI12NUDREDLSEX&product=Lise%20Charmel%20Bras http://uk.primadonna.eu/EN/collection/spring-summer-collection-2010/edoras.aspx and of course there is always Marlies Dekkers (I practically live in her designs!) and she's known for designing for a fuller cup.

Lilacs are my favorite; there is nothing better than going for a walk after a spring rain and seeing tiny little water drops glistening in the sun on the bright purple blooms while their wonderful fragrance fills the air mixed with the scent of the rain. -
