Recommendations are a form of crowd-sourcing for the hobbiest, it helps establish credibility for the SP as recommendations are added. Recommendations also come in groups, hobbiest would see SP with similar attributes and a client can discover SP they haven't met by following the recommendations written by specific hobbiest. New recommendations have several added benefits: 1. it bumps the recommendation thread up and shows that the SP is still working. Some SP don't post ads on a regular basis and a thread bump becomes a quasi-advertising. 2. it highlights new services that a SP might be offering. For example: Victoria Jolie use to have a golf special. A recommendation stating as much would bring attention to it far more then an ads placement. 3. it is a reminder of the encounter. It acts a reminder for both hobbiest and SP of the encounter. Very useful when asking for a reference a year after the encounter. In short, recommendations benefit everyone. Just write.

Some guys just don`t write recommendations. Although there is some truth in this hint there has also been a drop of recommendation lately and it would be unfair to paint all SP with the same brush. Many years ago I started a brand-new recommendation thread for one stunning SP and having someone PM me stating how dead-on my recommendation was and how he had seen her numerous times over the last 2-3 months. Say what ? Some guys just don`t write recommendations. Other Cowboy Kenny's blog the guys in chat are another good resource. Get into chat and participate. Write recommendations. Crowd source.

Blogs and twitter are great means of indirect marketing. Their strength lies in the ability to show your true nature, interests, and concerns. This means both the good 'happy go lucky stuff' and the not so happy stuff. Even a well timed rant on something you are passionate about can be a strong positive. e.g. ranting Ottawa's lack of support for poverty prevention. Self censorship is a common issue and other bloggers have commented on these. [1] [2]. Another aspect to consider is disclosure. How and what you disclose about your personal life in a blog. Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer had a wonderful Q&A about this [ ]. A blog is a time-consuming commitment. To ensure consistent interest, and have readers come back for more, it should be updated on a regular basis. One tack is to have a regular weekly (or bi-weekly) post and shorter filler posts in between.

Before I believe in something I would like to know what I am being ask to believe in...... Do you mean agape - unconditional love. Notice the recursive meaning.... Do you mean eros - sensual desire and longing. I would like to add that mobile device support is moving away from Flash towards HTML 5. iPhones never supported Flash and Adobe has dropped Flash support for Android 4.1.

A number of the web hosting sites provide a 'builder' with the monthly subscription. Failing that your choices range from DreamWeaver to something simple as a text editor (I use Xemacs or TextMate). Mid range tools on the Mac include RapidWeaver. Will you be using Flex/Flash ? If yes then you can't run away from Adobe's Flex Builder. Most web site designers are now moving to HTML 5 and CSS.

In a way we have this here on CERB, based on both crowd sourcing and trail of trust. Crowd sourcing by way of recommendation. Trail of trust by informal discussions with other hobbiest and SP. And yes, SPs do recommend other SPs. At times someone has to take-one-for-the-team, and some hobbiest prefer that role.

A great deal of that changed in the last couple of months. The Fed shed quite a chunk of its workforce and placed another group under a wait-n-see-if-you-a-job-in-2-years holding pattern. RIM took a hit, Nortel hasn't recovered and there aren't new start-ups absorbing the workforce.

The usual route into med school is by taking your MCAT (wikipedia link). If you have concerns about how prepared you are for med school at least do a practise MCAT test. It would give you a good baseline to start with. Also look into either volunteering or working at a hospital.
