I agree. I would want my Friends to feel free to attend, grief is for the living. [Purposely left out the word SP for a reason, it doesn't even come into play]

She flirts two guys.. what ot think?
etasman2000 replied to pandacrazy's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
If she is the one for you, are you the one for her ? Only she can decide that....relax. If she goes let her go and if she comes back then you will know you are the one for her. It was 7 years before you found her and now you are afraid it would be another 5-6 years before another turns up. Anything worth waiting for is worth the time. Take a few hours this weekend and ask yourself what you did this last 7 years, what works, what didn't, what can you improve, and just importantly what are you truly looking for. -
Best bet would be your old laptop, if you have access to it it would be doable. Ipods might be formatted using the old DOS format, FAT or something similar, you might be able to connect it as a USB device and unformat the files. http://forums.ilounge.com/ipod-monochrome/45619-how-recover-lost-data-files-your-ipod.html

Many Happy Returns! Onwards to a new and wonderful year. -
The money is not a surety. Traveling is risky with an initial overlay for flights, hotels and meals. Part of it is likely no different from why I enjoy traveling for business: get to see a new place, experience a different culture (even if its just another part of vast Canada) on the company dime.

Transexual Truth?
etasman2000 replied to Winnipegcub's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Likely old name for her previous clients and they would know or be informed that she is now post-op. New name would be to create a new identity and a new set of clientale as a physical female. At this point the above is pure speculation, I say ask her directly and remove all doubt. -
Semantics, Perception and Respect
etasman2000 replied to mrrnice2's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
This is true today however parallel this with the word 'nigger'. Current lexicon has 'nigger' used by all races and not just Afro-Americans. A reclaimed word does and can take on a new meaning with the passage of time. -

Semantics, Perception and Respect
etasman2000 replied to mrrnice2's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Words do have meaning and a force either taught or by cultural assimilation. For me, faggot is always a bundle of sticks and fag a cigarette. *shrug* There is no need to call someone a slut or whore just because they reclaimed the word. As long as you understand the context in which it is used the words themselves would take the meaning the speaker intends. Call the ladies in the polite manners in which you were taught. -
It should be pointed out that there is a difference in Dell/Toshiba/HP/Lenovo if you purchase it as a consumer vs a business. As a consumer I would trust Toshiba before the rest, including Acer and Asus. However, my plug will be for Apple over Toshiba at this current time.

The importance of 'loving' as a verb.
etasman2000 replied to Nathalie L's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
There are Guides who learn to see the potential in others and have the compassion and patience to lead them to that potential. It is true Guides can not force, only setup the necessary conditions for the growth to occur. There is the whole slew of problems that come along with it, one as you mentioned, by whom's standards, the other an attachment of what may be and the lack of appreciation for what is. A valuable Guide is one who knows their own limits and biases. Finally I agree, change is always an internal affair. -

The importance of 'loving' as a verb.
etasman2000 replied to Nathalie L's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Opposite complements is the 'modern' term for it. Samantha's Discourse pretty much sums up my thoughts on it: eros, agape, philia, and storge to borrow from Lewis. Sometimes it isn't our attachment to other people as they are but our ideal of who they can be. There is also a delicate balance between allowing them space for growth and guiding the growth. e.g. if a lover is growing into someone destructive do we stand back and watch or guide them towards another path ? -

Happy Birthday Princess with a Tiara -
I have a Macbook Pro 17" and it last 7+ hours on battery. After 2 years its still good for 5+ hours and this without me doing the recommended discharge/charge cycles. A 17" isn't light nor is it back breaking heavy compared to HP or Toshiba. For lighter go with the 13" and with back to school sales you are looking at 100$ rebate. Only other advice, get the Apple Protection Plan from Apple. Their plan automatically covers any other Apple devices you might have (except the Apple Monitors). Plus Apple's warranty are top notch. With the Apple Store locally there is no reason to rely on FutureShop or BestBuy for support.
