Contempt for Parliament Charge explained
docottawa replied to a topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Most definitely an interesting and well written article by Dan Gardner. I don't see fault in his presentation of the facts. I question, however, his assertion that the finding of contempt is not a political game. I'm of the opinion that a majority of Canadians consider the toppling of the government over this issue to be just that, political maneuvering. The fact that it is the first time that a commonwealth government has been found in contempt is likely more an indication of circumstance than anything else. This minority government was opposed by three parties who have considered toppling it a number of times, merely waiting for what they perceived to be the right time. Not many forget the coalition proposed between the Liberals, the NDP, the Bloc. Personally, I highly doubt that there were no transgressions of contempt by the sitting governments of Jean Chretien, Brian Mulroney or Pierre Trudeau. The major difference between those three prime ministers and today's being the majority benefit that they enjoyed. Doc. -
Vegetarian recipes anyone?
docottawa replied to J Galt's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Hey, good for you! I've been vegetarian, off and on, for almost 9 years now and it makes a real difference in my life. I'm not going to preach but there are two resources that I always recommend when people ask about going meatless. First, the book Becoming Vegetarian by Versanto Melina...awesome book with loads of important facts. Second, vegweb.com...awesome site with great ideas. Doc. -
Good to know that your mom is going to be fine. Lost both of my parents recently and I, too, relieved some of my anxiety by hanging out here. It's a haven from reality where you can find interesting people, topics, and dialog. Take care of yourself Lee. Doc.

Encounter FAIL moments

OMG Shortcake! I'm still laughing! Way too funny!!! -
I imagine that many of you are aware of the unfolding story concerning allegations of influence peddling by the ex-adviser to Stephen Harper, Bruce Carson. Certainly, what gives the story a little more flavour is the news that Mr. Carson is engaged to a much younger local girl who used to be an SP and was once a member here on CERB. Now, for the first time that I've read, his fiancee has given her own side of this story, at least in part. It is interesting reading but what most stands out to me about her story is how she felt that her experience as an escort was one of exploitation and abuse. One of her quotes as reported in the Ottawa Citizen is: "It sounds awful because it was awful but I finally got out of it. A lot of girls can't get out of it so I'm lucky I did. It was a life of exploitation and abuse." I'm quite new to this...I'll call it experience, of enjoying my time with the girls here on CERB. I'll admit that I struggle with the notion that some of the women who I may choose to contact feel the same way that this young lady does. How would I know? I'm pretty certain that most of the men who use this board are aware that, from a sheer business perspective, the ladies need to project an image of happiness within the profession but really, what percentage (of you) ARE happy with your choice? I realize that this is a personal question, so please understand that I'm not asking you about your own experience. Rather your impression of a percentage overall within the industry. I suspect that the ladies here are in a better position than am I to accurately guess an appropriate number. The Scent of a Woman...
docottawa replied to Dorinda Bloom's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Wow. I don't think that I've ever had an experience where there was no smell at all. Every woman has her own flora and it's different at different times of the month. For my own part, I'm usually aroused by my partners scent. I'm pretty confident that we, as men, are hard wired that way. That being said, if a day goes by without a shower or bath...my appreciation wanes pretty quickly. -
Great question. I'm looking forward to reading the ladies' answers. On a different note. Erin, the description of your technique is damned sexy. Even so, it pales in comparison to the experience that you provide. :)

Seems to me that you deserve a round of applause, Chavez. Huzzah! Huzzah!! Huzzah!!! Never let it be said that pleasure can not be mixed with research for dear Chavez has proven it so!

your help and guidance please
docottawa replied to redcar952002's topic in Ottawa Discussion - Massage
The phrases that get bandied about, "...Greek tours do not hurt." :icon_eek: Seriously, though. I agree completely with Cat's sentiment. Life is all about fun, when you can have it. Explore and enjoy, indeed. -
What would you do?

Well, I guess that if her her name was mentioned on other boards, in relation to this issue, that would be an effective way of circumnavigating CERB's "No Negative Reviews Policy". I, for one, had no idea who the OP was referring to. That's not to say that others didn't figure it out but, like WrinkledinTime writes, "If true, I find it pathetic that some members of this board spend their time speculating in private about the identity of providers that have not been named in public." Just curious, though. Does this fellow have a reputation for boorish behaviour? -

Until now, I've followed this post with the impression that it was as good as an hypothetical situation, since the SP's name had never been mentioned. I'd taken the view that you could begin the post as a "What if this happened to me?". I mean, if the OP was up to besmirching a woman's reputation he would have hinted at who he was referring to. Since he didn't his story seemed, at least, passably credible and worthy of an answer assuming that he was being honest. To my way of thinking, anyone who answered the post with words of encouragement towards him wasn't being unfair because, once again, it was all anonymous. From this point forward the thread changes. Maybe it's time that The Mod stepped in. Also, let me say that I don't think any provider should ever disregard her own suspicions or intuition in order to satisfy any potential client. -
Your first brush with erotica...
docottawa replied to Seymour's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I'm not certain if this was my first brush with erotica but it was, certainly, the most influential. Penthouse pictorial, back in the early 80's. Two naturally beautiful ladies, The Spider and the Fly. There was a rope woven web stretched out and the Fly was caught in it for the Spider to play with and devour. I was as ensnared by the visuals as was the Fly by the web. -

Yes, Mod. You're correct that the site is made up of it's members but it seems self-congratulatory to thank "ourselves". ;) So, once again. A thanks to the mod and to the Mod. Damned fine site. :bigclap:  :ThankYou: :bigclap: -

I had a similar experience about two years ago with a massage therapist. It was my very first foray into this industry in any way. I, too, ended up walking on a sidewalk, phone in hand, getting nothing but a message machine. I called her again the next day and left a couple of friendly e-mail messages but never received an explanation or an apology. Nothing negative ever came of it, though, and when I returned to this hobby, just very recently, she was no longer active. I think that what I'm trying to say is that you should try to not be overly concerned. I think that this kind of thing happens often enough in this industry; no shows from both sides. It's inconsiderate, granted, but not an indication that you need worry about your privacy. Regardless of all that, I hope that the provider takes the time to contact you. There may be a perfectly reasonable explanation. -
LOL! General...That's pretty damned funny!! Additional Comments: Never again will the Doc be heard to say things like: "In general, I like sticking my nose in where it doesn't belong.". "In general, I'd say that anal sex can be an interesting activity.". :)

Let's see..."unique site", "sub-culture haven", "glad to be part of this community", "has been my sanity", "mutual respect and affection"...I definitely did not expect these kinds of sentiments when first I stumbled across CERB. Pretty cool. -
I just finished re-reading the excellent thread by JuliasUndies, "Let's talk about respect."... http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=45633 ...and it made me think about something. This is a damned fine web site. I'll say it again. This is a damned fine web site. It's full of interesting people, men and women. It's a great meeting place rife with members who exhibit class, intelligence, grace, kindness, empathy, creativity. I imagine that it takes an incredible amount of time and effort to run this whole thing and I just wanted to thank everyone who is involved in the operations of it all. I don't know if it's one person or a team but here it is... Thank you. I appreciate what you've done here in the past and what you're doing here presently. Doc.

Heya Frosty, Ashley Madison is a site that I've been a member of for a little over a year. My experience on it has been positive but it does require a lot of time and effort and, yes, some money for credits. It is certainly very different from other sites for a number of reasons, first most being the desire for anonymity from the majority of the members. It is, after all, a site that caters to men and women who are searching for an extra-marital affair. That makes it very different from a dating site, per se. It's been my observation that many of the women who sign up are sitting on the fence as to whether or not they are really willing to take the plunge. In many cases they are hoping to meet a man who will seduce them, acting out on a forbidden fantasy. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, in fact the dance is more than half the fun. Bear in mind that it does, generally, take much time and effort. Hope that this helps. Feel free to PM me if you've any questions.

Are you Pro Choice?
docottawa replied to Megan'sTouch's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Absolutely pro-choice. I understand, however, why some of those who take the other view are so passionate about their stance. Regardless...freedom of choice, freedom of speech, freedom of association. -
Good idea Nightlife, I doubt that you can go wrong at Paradise. It's a very nice spot and the three times that I've been there have all been worthwhile.

We've owned a Sybian for almost 10 years now and it's a riot. My wife enjoyed her first ever G-spot orgasm while using it with the G-spot attachment. It's been a fantastic toy both for her and for girlfriends. Malika is right about it being incredible to tie a woman down to. Doc.

I'm quite newly involved in this hobby and I understand that planning a date at least a few days in advance is both courteous and practical for both parties. However, my circumstances are such that most times I only become available with very little advance warning. It leaves me in a position where I've found myself sending off emails to ladies asking if they're comfortable with meeting a new fellow, usually only within hours of the message being sent. I completely understand the impracticalities of this but I wonder...Do you ladies find such short notice requests to be annoying, discourteous or disrespectful, in any way?
