Emma I always thought your name was 'Don't stop!!' I know better now!:-D In all seriousness I completely agree when dealing with people you need to use their names, that is why I like SP's who use actual names. When it is an acronym or a term it is hard to say 'Hi there XXX'. So as a tip: A screen name or saying as your CERB handle is great, but help us be a little more personal by also having a mainstream name (not your real one obviously). I have never been a pet name person, I have been known to call someone 'my lovely x' in the past but I am big on showing respect by starting with a salutation and ending with my name in farewell. Something my parents hammered into me. Having said that I don't really mind being called anything personally as long as it seems sincere and not just a forgetful and throw away term...just like GFE aspects can seem sincere or mechanical, how you call someone sweetie or Hun can feel fake or sincere. My 2 cents!

9AM has seemed to be the magical time for me, almost all of my AM appointments are at that time and I have never had someone say it was too early. I have done a few 8:30 am's but 9 seems to work great.

I do 80% of my meets in the AM and i have never had an issue, but I do not work through agencies. Independents are the way to go if you want to meet in the AM, as they make their own schedule they can usually accommodate (in my opinion and experience) times much easier....especially if you book in advance. Most traveling SP's easily accommodate AM's as they are in town multiple nights. Research in the announcements thread and some courteous PM's will get you the answers you want fairly quickly I am sure.

I think we should try and veer back to Kenny's original point in that we as the clients can also be impacted financially by a no show. Working in a sales role if I take a morning or afternoon for a rendezvous and at the last minute it is canceled (or communication just stops) then I have lost that morning to book meetings and work on my job and I have the frustration of a missed encounter as well. I definitely think that by and large no shows are much more prevalent, frustrating and financially damaging to the SP's but we as the clients also face challenges working out these meetings (especially if they are far in advance as I book them) and no shows don't just result in blue balls (LOL) but could also impact our day to day work lives. We could now be in the middle of downtown, everyone is expecting you to 'be at a meeting' or 'travelling' and in fact you are twiddling your thumbs. Kenny's underlying message is a great one, respect and communication needs to be a two way street! Nice post CK (as usual), thanks for making it! I should mention that I have only had a last (and I mean really last) minute cancellation once and the reasoning was good, so it is not chronic, but still frustrating.

I have this done routinely as my family is riddled with cancer and I am over 30, my issue is my doctor thinks that this is the best time to have small talk, thanks for the bedside manner, but this is the one time direction and silence is absolutely cool. Speaking of Heinlein and horrible movie adaptations of books. I read Starship Troopers for the first time...ohh...about 20 years ago and have re-read it a few times. When the asstacular movie came out I was excited, then so pissed once I saw it. The only thing shared between the amazing, dark and brutal book and the movie was the bugs, all else was pure garbage.

Having finished the books I was reading I was digging through my storage closet and found my pile of shakespeare books. I started collecting these in a neat hardcover format (thin leather bound series) when I was 18 and I am missing about 7 volumes. I grabbed a tragedy and a comedy and I am reading Julius Caeser (or The Life and Death of Julies Caeser) and The Taming of the Shrew. I forgot how much I like reading his plays in unedited old english...almost brings you back in time while reading and the genius of the author shines through. Like I said...a weird choice :wink:
