  1. this is another good article from rabble http://rabble.ca/columnists/2014/04/patriarchal-values-dominate-sex-work-debate
  2. I would say it wouldn't be a %-age, but more of a rounding up, as someone mentioned. If you are paying in 20s for example, an extra 20 would be more than OK, even if the original rate is 300. I usually say that if you are seeing an agency sp, a spa ma, or some other arrangement where you know the sp is getting a portion of what you are paying, even an extra 20 as a tip would be greatly appreciated, as her take home is just that much sweeter. You may be paying 300, but if you knew she was getting 150 of that (after agency cut, and driver fee), you might be predisposed to tip. If she's indy, and you are not normally a tipper in other aspects of your life, don't worry about it (unless you are seeing someone who seems to be undervaluing herself and her services with super low rates, and you want to make a point to her that she should think more highly of herself?)
  3. I think whatever safety checks (outside of screening, which it is doubtful anyone with short time short notice appts does in depth) they use for half hour or hour still work? Make a phone call/text to say appt start time, expected finish time, then follow up when alone, none of that changes just because the appt time is 15 rather than 1 hour. Also in some areas, the offer of a 15 minute is bj only, no frills, no FS. So he won't be getting steak at all, let alone sizzle lol. In areas with 15min FS sessions, I kind of think the price break isn't going to be 40-50% off, but more like 10-20% difference, like a 120 half hour becomes a 100 FS. i think everyone knows that the duration of the session is still going to include the time to get from front door, to the incall, in and out of the shower or bathroom, undressed and dressed. Majority of '15' minutes mean a minimum of 20 minutes time, hence not lowering the FS rate for 15 that much. And for the sp the upside is that less time is spent, no GFE during session, and the $$ altho lower reflect the fact of less time, less exposure to risk activities. i am not convinced that regulars doing half hours now are going to opt for the 15 as a way to save money. It is possible a small percentage will, and sometimes they might when short on time, but it would be like saying an hour guy will sometimes opt for the half hour. It will happen from time to time, but i doubt they will replace their preference of the longer time with a shorter time at a lower price. it is ideal for high volume sps, and sps who don't engage in conversation with clients, and clients who are not looking for conversation, and for clients who want to meet an sp and see whether or not she will become an ATF he wants to spend more time with. It is a good marketing tool for new sps as well, to get seen means getting more regs, and longer times for higher rates.
  4. On the other side, saying '420 friendly' doesn't necessarily mean, 'bring some so we can smoke up together'. It may just mean if you want to smoke it, go ahead. however, even that would be 2nd hand smoke, and shows a curious lack of common sense. maybe it is just left over from an older pre preggers ad, at least we can hope for the best. also you could report the ad, regarding the drug part of it, and perhaps bp will edit that out so no potential clients will read it and think it is OK to smoke around pregnant women.
  5. I hoped you called the sp to cancel. Not showing up when you've received all the location information, including room number, is extremely scary to many sps.
  6. Wow, 92, that is a ripe old age to get to. And a pretty good life along the way.
  7. I prefer the recycling route as well. Find the people who pick these things up, or will take the drop offs like thrift shops, family shelters, food banks, women's centres, seniors centres, and retirement homes will probably like the books, as well as useful things. If you aren't looking to make a profit on stuff, there will always be someone who can use it. Even the dumps in certain areas have recyclable places, where good used items can be picked up for 'nearly free' and gives it a chance to go to a new home, while you personally only have to take it to one place.
  8. I myself have a couple of reasons, but one is similar to the above. I want to know who I am talking to, and who i am giving the info to. This is also why i won't 'put it in writing' so to speak, so not in pms, texts or emails. Gender, sobriety, and sincerity are far more obvious in a phone conversation, to me, and is how i screen. If the person doesn't sound right, there is no need to proceed. Not having $$ in the ads means they have to call, and that gives me insight into them. Also, many many many ad posting sites prohibit posting services, therefore there is no point in posting rates that are based on those services. Maybe the sp can post 'rates start at 100" but typically, according to the rules of the majority of ad sites out there, they can't post rates for FS, bjs, half hour FS GFE, or whatever combination of things. The fact that some sps do post all that info is neither here nor there if the sp in question is a rule follower, and/or has had ads deleted (paid for ads) due to breaking the rules. she is unlikely to continue to break the rules, she would rather have the ad up, and risk someone being too nervous to contact her for the info. And if you are too nervous to contact just to ask about a rate, then are you going to be too nervous to show up after booking an appt? Because skittish clients are not fun if they don't show up lol. So don't dismiss the ones who don't post a rate. Let's face it, there are a lot of rates posted in ads. Rates do NOT vary significantly, not enough that it matters that much if someone you call is not going to be more than 20-50 different than the ad rates you've already seen. Don't let a price decide for you who to see either, there are a lot of factors that make one sp more attractive than another, but personally to me if someone is only choosing me because my rate is 20 less than the other 10 sps ads he's seen, then that is not the guy I want to see. I want the guy who sees the ad, talks to me, and then decides that even tho my rate is 20 higher than the other 10 ads he saw, he still wants to take a chance on coming to see me. Based on who i am and what i offer, and our conversation.
  9. I just watched the Lone Ranger for the first time. I enjoyed that one :) I like at the end where he rides up on Silver in that classic two legged front feet up pose and says Hi Oh Silver" and Jonny Depp says 'Don't ever do that again".
  10. This is absolutely true. I know every sp who became an sp did so because they had sex outside of marriage, for sure. Of course a lot of women who had sex outside of marriage did not become sps, but never mind about the majority. We are only concerned about a minority after all!
  11. Final 4 Sabrina = yes THAT Sabrina, the crazy one. Won this weeks HOH, the only one that really mattered to get to F3. Neda = did really well up until Jemmett came in and she totally misinterpreted every piece of advice they gave her, PLUS the advice her sister gave her, and is now probably not going to choose Jon to take further and Jon is the only person who would solidly get her into F2. Jon = thinks he has F2 with both Heather and Neda, and yet also knows that neither will take him further. Heather = once a favourite, now a sulker anytime she goes on the block even tho there is no one else to put up on the block, plus she lost the Rock/paper/scissor comp with Neda. Canada votes with the jury. If Neda takes Jon, I would vote for Neda. If she is the one to get rid of him, I will not if she is in F2 with Sabrina, even, i will vote for Sabrina. the only thing that will save Neda in my eyes is if she takes Jon. She won't because she thinks she won't win against him. She would have easily had she not made so many stupid mistakes, starting with the go for the $$ rather than the veto in the last veto comp, allowing heather to win it. Taking him would be the next best thing she could do for herself, but she will psych herself right out of doing it, she can't beat heather, only Jon could do that, and Heather won't take her F2, and it will most likely be Heather or Jon making that decision.
  12. This is how the law in NZ is set up. Fined for non compliance https://www.healthed.govt.nz/resource/health-and-safety-information-sex-workers https://www.healthed.govt.nz/resource/health-and-safety-information-sex-workers pg 22 It applies to all sex workers, whether indy or employed at a brothel. I think it is very specific, and certainly didn't take a lot of time and effort to come up with the idea. Stds are a workplace hazard, safer sex practises involve use of barriers for oral, vaginal, and anal sex, therefore, the PRA laws make it a condition of doing commercial sex work that barriers be used at all times. Commercial is the key word there, this is workplace safety issues, nothing else. It is not a personal decision, and educating is the key as shown in the info, signs are supposed to be put up on the walls etc lol. We don't have other commercial industries where the workers get to decide for themselves what level of risk they are OK with, when it comes to public health and safety. they can't randomly pick and choose what laws, in the case of NZ as comparison. In the comparison of driving, this would be yes someone can choose to drive without wearing a seatbelt, but it is against the law. You can get away with it a lot of the time, but eventually and at some point, chances are you will either get caught (and fined) or you will get in an accident and badly hurt or dead. The frequency of doing it increases your risk.
  13. ^^ In the US they say 'money is for time and companionship only." That has never prevented LE from charging and arresting both sp and client in their stings. There is no way to make #1 work, as long as the person is unquestionably an sp. The same with sugar daddy/baby relationships, as far as the US law is concerned it is the same thing. Especially when you consider a lot of arrangements are paid per date, not as a monthly stipend done one time. I think many people think that the Nordic model necessarily means the end to things as we know it. No more reviews, no more ads, no more forums. There are a TON of forums, reviews and ads in the US for and about US sps. There is no reason to think things, online at least, will change even for a minute. There is reason to believe that sps might ask for references more often, because LE will still target them, as they do in other countries. The
  14. If they say they are targeting the clients (those who solicit the services of prostitutes) then why would their picture be a woman in handcuffs? Clearly that isn't their intention at all, they will be targeting and posting pics of the sps, as well as clients. sps are far easier to find, they call up the ad and have her show up to a rented motel/hotel room. Clients, they have to rely on having a good ad attracting callers and a good phone style to get them to the door. of course the main objective and easiest thing to do is sex workers, not clients.
  15. Re; regulate it OHS? Yes, absolutely it would be fair and reasonable to prohibit bbbjs, for health and safety issues. It is already like that in New Zealand. And what is fair about it, of course, is that all sps then are on a level playing field. The ones who choose to be safe and the ones who would market themselves as providing that higher risk but popular activity now would all be offering cbjs only. Not one over the other, but level and, in other words, the very definition of fair. Also, I will note we clearly agree on what was typical (no gfe, no bbjs) in the past (when you were at the agency) and now. It is a very real thing that sps are told that they won't get calls if they don't provide bbbjs. That to me takes the choice out of it, if they are an employee. But even with choice, to me it seems more dangerous when there is an sp working who really has no clue about her personal risks. That also takes away her choice, thru ignorance of her own health. In NZ, there are actually posters required in brothels and parlours on stds, and the regulations, etc, for this kind of information dissemination lol.
  16. I think i have noticed what the OP says. I always click New Posts when i come online and then pick thru what I want to click on, so i always see the ad titles that are posted daily as well. I dislike titles that have really bad spelling and grammar, and i do have to say, most often, those would be the kind of ad titles he is referring to. They aren't graphic as much as they are crude to the lowest common denominator, and perhaps lacking all the prohibited symbols, would be most commonly found on what people derisively refer to as 'bp' ads lol. having said that i have to assume two things: crude ad titles are not against the rules of the site (unless they include weird symbols and so on) and that they are working for the advertiser on this particular site. In other words, tho we may see ourselves, us long time members, as being above all that bp crudity, apparently we are not as classy as we think we are? :sex_porn:
  17. For me, anyone that i can recognize when calling. I remember everyone i see, so even one repeat doesn't really count. I see some people once a year. Or they come back after working out of town/country for 2 years, or whatever. Still a regular even at once a year, or 3 time a year even. to me anyway.
  18. I don't see it as hypocritical (or that that is a fair assessment of risk level, to promote doing bbbjs, for example, i am not isolating your comment, just that it is often used as an attack on sps who say cbj only, but allow kissing and daty) because the risk LEVEL is not at all the same. There is still risk, but you compare two low risk activity with one high risk activity, and it isn't comparable. I also note the talking to the doctor, but my advice is to talk to the experts at an std clinic. Drs. are great at general info, but they are not experts in everything. They will either greatly exagerate or underestimate your personal risk activity. The std clinic professionals are the only ones, when i went in for testing at my regular clinic and std clinic, to ask me about throat swab or how i did oral sex, and pointed out that if bbbjs are done, then they go for the throat (so to speak). I don't think we can underestimate the risk to the sp, not necessarily the client, in a bbbj. She is the recipient, not he. I do think it is a moderate risk for clients, tho, not high risk but not no risk or low risk either. On the topic, tho, i doubt if it will change how many sps give or do not give bbbjs. I think the ones that do not now are mainly the ones who don't do it because they won't accept the risks, and the ones who do it the vast majority don't know the risks, they are allowing someone else to tell them, whether they are foreign workers or just younger workers, they aren't finding out for themselves the std facts. What is the most common thing available at an agency? bbbj. Is this service a condition of employment? Is it a condition of getting bookings or recommendations when sp is new to the agency? Some agencies have been reported that some services are mandatory, including high risk services. The only thing that this report will help is if the industry was regulated by Occupation Health and Safety lol I wouldn't call this an 'end' to bbbjs, but a 'return' to how things used to be. bbbjs are only common now that everyone thinks that there is a cure for HIV and/or that it isn't transmitted that way. as the OP points out, HIV is not the issue when it comes to oral sex, everything else is, and those things, untreated are evey bit as life or health threatening as HIV.
  19. How does the comments section on this article get closed within 24 hours, and other articles, prohibitionist style, stay open for days and hundreds of comments? I find that fishy. I like the article, plan to share it around.
  20. Some sps are very strict about that start and end time, as in if the appt is 4pm, for half hour, they must leave at 4:30 even if they arrive at 4:15. It depends on how accurate you are with your own timing, tho to pull that off. And that is for sps who have prebooked appts, and times, and they must stay on schedule without deviation. There really aren't too many sps who work on that firm schedule, but i think the majority of us will say arrival at the door time to end time has to be within that 30 minute range. Half hour guys are only taking showers if they already know they aren't using or needing 30 minute activity time. maybe a quick rinse, or cleanup the area, hands, mouthwash, bathroom break (not in that order) a couple of minutes, no sp minds that, but dilly dallying around first, then saying they are taking a shower, if we;ve spent 5 minutes on chit chat or canoodling and then he tells me now he wants a shower, I am not feeling quite so generous with my half hour of time. now everything is going to be cut shorter than i would like because instead of 2-3 minutes prior to starting, we are looking at a full 10 minutes into the half hour for 'everything'. Is that always possible? Not without rushing thru something, no. And if you don't this is a guy who will not be in and out within the time he paid for. Sure 5 minutes here or there, no one minds that, especially if that time is in the shower lol. But 4pm to 4:40, and he still isn't gone let alone done, or wants to argue about the amount of time left? No. And that is because i offer a 45 minutes option. This is a 45 minute guy. He wants to chat, take a shower, then get started and needs 30 minute activity time, tell him next time the best option for him is to take 45 minutes, which you do at XX $. His option for the half hour is to understand the half hour doesn't come with an unrushed session of going overtime. No half hour sessions are for guys who need or want more time than that. It is often for the guys who want to be in and out within 30 minutes because they need to be somewhere else, it isn't supposed to be for the guy who wants or needs 45 minutes but too cheap to pay the hour rate to get it.
  21. I don't get tired of compliments, but sometimes i do take them with a dose of reality. at my age, and shape, etc etc. But still, when someone is touching your intimate parts, and the lights are dim, she is going to be beautiful and you are going to compliment her, lol. I appreciate them all, it is always a treat to be appreciated. I am never tired of regulars or the same clients. Regulars are what we strive for, there is less benefit in seeing new people each and every time, you don't want to go thru the giving out info, giving out address, wonder if they are going to show up, wonder when they are going to call you to say they are lost, etc. re: the envelope, i am always surprised when someone still mentions using this method due to legal issues. There are no legal issues in the discussion of payment for sexual services, getting paid for sexual services, and paying for sexual services. That is what prostitution is legal means. This is not up for debate. I do know yet don't understand why some people know about the solicitation law (which the SCC overturned mind you, so it was discussed many times) and not understand that solicitation isn't prostitution, and that the criminalization of solicitation is only in regards to 'public' solicitation, as in any attempt to discuss $ for sex in pubic, outside, in a hotel lobby, in a bar, on a street corner, etc. public is public, the insides of the incall or outcall location is private.
  22. Well, i moved to my current location at least 11 years ago, it could be more so i will leave it at 11 years. Within one week of my move, maybe my first or 2nd client since moving, someone showed up. And has continued to show up 3-5 times each month since that first time. So best guesstimate is between 525 and 550 times repeating. :)
  23. lol, me too. I don't know how many times i've just said, oh, sorry, not available the minute i hear that kind of thing. Also they say it in what i call 'sexy voice', so it really grates on the nerves. This is not a dating site, I snap, from time to time, you don't have to sexy voice me to impress me. it creeps me out, and makes me question why they are calling in the first place lol. I'd advise not using sexy voice and not calling any sp sweetie, hun, babe, and/or babeeee
  24. ^^ thanks for explaining it well lol. Remember as a client whatever you ask is never going to be the first time the sp is being asked that. Normally a potential client asks that prior to booking the appt, It is important to him, this is what he wants, this is the time to ask it. I have been asked by callers before after hearing the services, do i ever waive that cbj for repeat clients. My answer is no, he knows going in if he books, and he has the option to not book. Prior to booking is the time to ask, not after an appt. Asking a cbj provider, who hasn't indicated that bbbj is ever an option, after the session seems rude to me. it kind of implies that you'd repeat if she complies, it kind of implies that there is only one right answer to get repeat business, she thinks she just finished a great appt, and now she finds out it wasn't great at all cuz this guy wants bbbjs, which she doesn't provide, and it leaves a really bitter feeling at the end of what she thinks is a great session. To put it into a client analogy, let's just say that he thinks the session was great, she provides everything he could have wanted, and at a rate he thinks is fair. After the appt, she looks at him after he says, gee, is it OK if i call you again for another appt, and she says, sure, but to get all those services again, I'll be charging you an extra $50. You can repeat with me, but not at today's rate. You'd kind of feel soured by the whole experience. You thought you were an ideal client, you thought you were getting along just fine, you didn't ask for anything extra, and you liked the sp. Now you find out that in order to repeat with her, she will expect more $$ or she'll turn you down. kind of leaves a bitter memory instead of a pleasant one.
  25. I've always had best results with an oil, because it stays slippery longer. Lotions always soak into the skin, which is what they are meant to do, so if you are attempting a massage of more than 2 minutes, it fails to work well lol. I use simple baby oil, unscented always. This is not as easy to find as it once was, afaik only Shoppers carries an unscented baby oil under their own brand name. I have a plain lotion as well, and will often mix the two together, the oil will help keep the lotion usable, and the lotion puts off a light scent if this is not a problem for the client. This is especially nice for someone with very dry skin. The no oil option is actually not an option, when it comes to massage, it is almost impossible to do a really good massage without the assistance of oils so your hands really can move across the skin. No oil = sticking, or not smooth.
