1. In BC we have 2 ad only sites specific to the area that work better than most other national sites for most sps. Then CL in therapuetic has also taken off again, and bp is not widely used or maybe just the other alternatives are so much better. I rarely have issues with bp clients, they are usually my best callers. I rarely get anything off a cerb ad, out here, it is less known for sure.
2. If it isn't that common, then there goes the argument that all prostitution has to be abolished because of all the hundreds of thousands of underagers that are being lured or willingly working. My point just being that contradicts other news stories that just get spoonfed the trafficking organization's statements that get brought out on every sex work related story. I think some of those charges are related directly to incalls still being against the law and not dependent on the fact an under 18 is in it. It is because it is an incall aka bawdy house that the charge of having someone in it under the age of 18 is also a crime. it is a long list of charges tho.
3. I appreciate everyone who has taken the time to ask and answer the questions. It is a LOT, and i have only browsed thru a few pages so far. :) My question is similar to cristy's list. When contacting an sp, why do you give up entirely after the first attempt didn't reach her? Speaking of phone calls but I suppose text or emails qualify, but phone calls are the most frustrating, especially if the # is blocked. One call, no message, never once trying a 2nd time, even tho my voice message suggests calling back in only 20 minutes. (even saying call back in 5 minutes, such as in the case i am checking laundry or taking out the garbage and can't take the phone). i always assume making the phone call means wanting to connect, am I wrong if the person never tries again (and sometimes i mean that literally, as in even the next day, week, month or year, never see that same # show up lol)
4. The sps may also include links to reviews on their site, and that can lead you to a review site with more options. Reviews seem super important to sps down in the US, as a way to both show their services (since you can not ever ask them), and that they are not LE. You could see some with dozens of reviews, if not more.
5. Mature is 35 plus, imo, I've used that since i got started. It is a label but it shows that you are over 30, and looking for mature attitude. I find that even the 20 year old guys who call (looking for the milf experience) see that word in ads and contact with a good attitude and very polite lol. milf i think doesn't mean you have to have a kid (yummy mommy, for younger women with under 10 year olds would have to to use the YM term i think). I think MILF is for the definition given, has to remind the now 20-25 year old that this is an sp who is of the age of his friend's mom when he and his friends were in their mid teens. So usually 35 ish. If you chose to use the term MILF in ads, it would attract guys under 25, if that is what you want. Many can figure it out by just contacting older sps if they have that milf fantasy, but using the term i think is going to attract more. they probably search for the term. cougar I agree is a more aggressive person. I am not aggressive in sessions, so milf is more agreeable to me. If you have the personality that would encourage the younger visitor getting himself attacked and seduced, then use Cougar in ads lol. I think, really, 35 is too young to use that term. 40 plus, you have to be holding yourself together by hope and a good pushup bra and cosmetics, and at 35 that is still holding together naturally lol. over 40, and chances are it isn't holding together so easily, lol
6. I've heard similar complaints. Control, jealous issues, and so on. But that is kind of why it is set up, an older man taking care of younger woman, guiding and controlling lol My opinion is that it is not ideal for an sp. It can potentially keep you out of business, advertising and seeing and nurturing regular sp clients, while you are in a SD/SB relationship. You wouldn't normally do both. So when the contract ends, you have to struggle to get your regulars back. Another complaint i have heard is the assumption of BBFS in a SD/SB set up, because it is exclusive and because the women who usually do it one at a time are not sps, and don't have the cover it up at all times mentality. If you want to make an 'arrangement', as an sp you have the option of setting up prepaid accounts for some regular clients. My friend does this, based on the type of visits, length of visits, and quantity of visits. her most common one is buy 5 get one free. They pay for a half hour, or hour, sessions in advance and the 6th one free, so a 600 value for 500 prepaid. She has a nice filing system and the gentlemen must sign in when using up one of the sessions, kind of like a coffee card :)
7. I sit here today thinking what a mild and nice winter it was here in BC. A few days with sunshine, and little rain from time to time. I sit here today, looking out the window, gazing upon the view.......of snow. Snow on the road, the balcony railing, the sidewalk, the lawns, and in the air because for DAY 3, it is still snowing and hasn't really stopped since it started on Saturday in the middle of the night. Actually the roads are pretty clear, all things considered.
8. but targeting johns Feb 22, 2014 http://m.ottawasun.com/2014/02/22/ottawa-cops-say-they-are-leaving-sex-workers-alone-targeting-johns excerpt
Sociologist Chris Atchison argues that the question isnâ??t how to help people in street prostitution, itâ??s how to help people in poverty because prostitution is one of the things they do to survive. And criminalization â?? even just of buyers â?? puts those who likely canâ??t walk into an upscale escort agency and get a job, at greater risk. â??Weâ??ve seen almost 30 years of legal prohibitions that have made it practically, technically impossible for people selling sex on the street to do so in a legal way and it resulted in putting them in harmâ??s way and in the worst case scenario being murdered,â? said Atchison, who has spent two decades talking to sex workers and their customers, who are also robbed and assaulted on the street. â??Criminalization creates a shroud of stigma and secrecy. It forces people to do things in unsafe spaces. People will always sell it and moving the focus from the seller and the buyer to just the buyer is not going to get rid of the demand or the supply.â? Instead of trying to drive street workers out, communities, police and outreach groups could talk to them, find safe places where they can work, put up lights and make sure law enforcement will protect them. â??Itâ??s treating people like humans as opposed to dogs,â? Atchison said. â??I donâ??t know how long itâ??s going to take before the rest of society realizes that we all have the blood of dead sex workers on our hands.â?
9. We were stuck with the prior set of laws for about 30 years, and it didn't really slow things down much. Even tho they say that 90% of all charges were related to street work, and right now they plan to stop charging the sps involved in street work, in some cities, that still affects a very small percentage of the population, and the guys have always taken the risk of picking up a street worker being LE for decades now. They find a way to make it work, they repeat with regular sps they see, and so on, just like indoor work. Indoor work in mps has always been open to charges, the other 10% as LE has always been able to walk in any time of the day or night and catch folks in the act. And they have done this, without stings or setups too. They don't do it often because they don't want to hear people complaining about the number of street workers, and indoor work keeps many off the street as well out out of residential apartments. Making clients illegal will still not make these places a priority, if the alternative is trying to find indoor residential workers and given that street worker clients are just that much easier to find and charge. The problem with the current laws is the same problem as any new laws being considered, LE's unwillingness to investigate and charge.
10. Most in the US say avoid bp, regardless of what kind of activity the ad states, an ad that promises nudity and contact is an escort ad, imo. You are just as likely to be at risk of a sting as any other bp ad. However, if whoever you contact asks for references and other things to screen you, then you have much less risk. Having said that, the very best decision when thinking about seeking the services of an sp in the US, is DON'T DO IT.
11. i find the best way is to just not answer the phone. My quitting time is 9pm, but it isn't that unusual for me to sometimes just be weary of dealing with anyone new, and while i might give out my info, i am just likely to say, not available today, but I will be tomorrow. Sometimes the idea of getting ready for someone who may or may not show up is worse later at night than it is a say 2:00 pm . They may show up, and they may not, and if not that is about 45 minutes of waiting time to find out, and by that time it is close to 10pm, so my way of dealing with being tired of dealing with people for that particular day is to just not be available after 9pm. ;) Additional Comments: 9pm is my cranky time as well. My 'hours' are 9am to 9pm, with a maybe 9am in there. it depends on if i am getting up and dealing with my pets, my coffee, and opening up the drapes, blinds and so on before actually going to get showered and ready for the day. I think that some of the sps who are late night to early morning may be in hotels. Being in my own incall, I have found that day time is easily the busier time of day, 11am to 7pm roughly. But i won't see anyone after 10pm anyway, tho the phone does still ring at 2am, 3am, 4am 5am, etc. So there is definitely something happening at those times of the night. it is just a different type of client than i am willing to see. Additional Comments: Everyone has different rates. The rates for extended dates tend to be based on their full hourly rate for the first hour, and possible discounted or lower rate for the other 3. You might see her hour rate is 300, but for 4 hours as a dinner date, not full play time date, as $750. (300 plus 3x150) You might see her charge $1200 (4 x $300) . You might see her charge $600 (300 plus 3 x $100). Some sps have a 2 hour minimum, so that same sp would be 2x300 plus discounted rate x 2 If she has a $200 hour rate, same kind of mathematics will result in different rates lol. In any case, basically, as already mentioned, you will be paying a rate for all the hours she spends with you, not based entirely on what amount of that time is going to be spent on playtime. Regardless that the meal is paid for, she is a paid companion, being a companion has a rate just as providing services has a rate.
12. Hey Claudia, how are you? It is nice to see you here. You will receive a warm welcome, as this is a VERY friendly site. :)
13. An old marketing angle, lol. I've seen it over the years and never once heard of actual relatives doing the duo. it is more just when there is an older sp and younger one working in the same location. I don't think that happens as often anymore, more that sps sharing space are similar ages now adays.
14. Find a massage provider. I don't think you are ready for a full service provider, and the massage (touch) and company (connection) is just low key and non performance related, just the thing you need as a first step.
15. i agreed with her points about question #4. It wants to lead you to say you do not want anyone to 'profit' off the work of sex workers, which can lead to the government putting in a law that prevents sps from paying anyone for anything. That can include advertising, incall rental, security, drivers, assistants, and stretching, to agency/massage parlours as employers. It could put SOs and family members at risk if the sp pays for anything for family members that they can't pay themselves, or if she/he is simply the family's sole income.
16. In Sweden, a client was arrested after he left the sp's incall. I got the impression from the news article that she wasn't approached, but he was, he got charged, a $300 fine and an article in the newspaper since he was a public figure. So no one could really be arrested going in to see an sp, but they could on the way out. I think also they rely on a confession too, otherwise someone could easily say they have to prove it lol.
17. That's because we "all' started when we were 13, so the drugs started early leading to mental health issues. obvious when you think about it. Even tho I started in my mid 30s.
18. I find that experience and experimentation helps. there are certain 'signature' moves that I do because they get great feedback from the majority of clients. Others complain about it tickling, so one size does not fit all lol. Additional Comments: No. I've been very lucky. There have only been a couple of rare times when I have questioned why I agreed to see the person in the first place, just because it wasn't a good match and somehow i felt that i should have known that at the time of enquiry. Additional Comments: It is hard to know how to deal. I don't get a lot of reviews, but the only bad one I had seen was the first one I saw. it led me to join a review site in order to insist they take it down (someone had posted a fake bad review then was linking it to CL posts about me, in a harassing way. To put it short, the review site refused to remove it, even tho I could clearly prove it wasn't true. They had issues with this kind of defamation, in other words they permitted it to happen.) The review description of me in other words not done by someone who had seen me, but was extrapolating description in the ad. So that was how i dealt with that, reporting it as fake and having to deal with the fact that that review site preferred to harass sps rather than recognize their part in the process and do the right thing. In other reviews, i found the reviewers honest and accurate. In some maybe the 'looks' part stings, only because lets face it someone over 40 isn't going to get the same rates as someone younger, no matter how they look. I appreciate a review that lowers expectations because I can live up to lower expectations, it is much more difficult to live up to high ones lol. I've got two reviews fairly recent on a US based site, and those are pretty high marks I now have to impress people who might book based on those. Additional Comments: Attitude comes through in initial contact. That to me isn't an issue, i don't see guys with attitudes. Looks i could care less about. I'm not here to be wowed by someone's appearance, and it isn't about dating either. I am turned off by someone doing 'sexy voice' in the enquiring process, and/or promising me how great they are. It is a service, not POF. They don't have to impress me, and if they try in that way, chances are good I just won't bother to see them. Life is too short to deal with someone who thinks they are so great, no doubt I will probably accept a short changed donation or want to see them for free. I won't. I have guys who book and pay the rates who remind me of TV/movie stars, so i have a hard time believing anyone is so great that i will forget what I am here for lol
19. Interesting, I said something very similar in question #5, regarding the fact that not all sex workers are female. And for #4. I felt that their language was problematic on question #4. it would be easy to allow them to manipulate the answer the way they put it, but the result would be that the replies will not allow for the sp willingness to pay their rent, their driver, and for advertising. None of that would be permitted if everyone agrees that no one should be able to profit from the 'prostitution of an adult.' One of the things that abolitionists don't mention is that sps in the Nordic model, as in just in Sweden, cannot actually rent accomodations to work in, because under that law it is a criminal offense for anyone to collect rent from sex workers. The landlord is obliged to evict sex workers or they can be charged.
20. I actually did that to someone once. He'd called a couple of times, and hadn't fully commited. the rate thing came up, as it does, and by this time I just added 20 bucks to all the options. he comes back with a 'wasn't it lower before' kind of thing, and I say, yes it was different, but for you the rates will be.... and proceeded to add yet another 20 bucks. in other words, I told him, you can book and actually show up this time at this new rate, or stop calling because it is only going to start higher every time you call me back.
21. I agree. I said that the municipal governments are more than capable of regulating. That and Worker Safety protocols, just like any other workers. There are plenty of laws already out there that protect workers in all kinds of situations, including smuggled, coerced, or slavery. The laws can protect them, and prosecute criminals from exploiting nannies and construction labour, why not sex workers.
22. I usually say something. In many cases, it has the guy backpedaling, and showing up paying the required fee. Some cultures start with a haggle, it is a knee jerk response when anyone gives them the price of something. I have found that many of these types, who end up coming by, tend to be good regulars and you never once hear from them again about rate reductions. Others are just rude in the way they go about it, as in you aren't worth what you charge, or are asking for. I will mention something about how they are coming across, sight unseen, deciding someone isn't worth what they are asking. :) I figure i've got nothing to lose, if the rate is too high for them, they aren't showing up anyway lol.
23. in my reply on one of the questions i pretty much said their bias was showing, when it came to Don't let them sway you with the obvious bias of that question, because it will trick you into agreeing that sps won't even be allowed to pay an agency fee, or an mp room rental, or for advertising, or even if they want to use a driver. It could also lead to them being unable to rent accomodations for incalls.
