Does your pet drive you nuts?
fortunateone replied to Jabba's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
My pet isn't quite sure now if the place where her food has always been, in the dish it has always been in, is a safe place for her to go and eat it. She'll skirt around it, look at it all the while checking out her surroundings, and from time to time take off like someone bit her, (nothing is there). So now I pick up her dish and put it on the chair beside me, or up on a small table i have, and voila, she swoops all over it, like, hey, i didn't know you had food here for me!! The other thing she sometimes is swoop around the balcony door like she really wants to go out (yes it is cold to open that up), and then when the door is open, she's no where to be found. It is actually hard to train a pigeon :) -
High or Low? Does It Matter?
fortunateone replied to Midnite-Energies's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I like the comment about the 'perceived' high volume being signaled with the 15-30 minute appointment options. It would probably surprise some to find out that some sps who have a 15 minute option may do it because they are low volume, as in really not very busy, and they need that as a way to attract at least a few clients at some point in the day. Maybe they don't have the luxury of waiting for that multiple hour client to appear, or rely on that kind of session. interesting tho, that it is possible to be someone with a one hour or two hour minimum and end up seeing more clients in a day than someone who only does half hour appointments. I say this only because i don't think there is a magic number as to what equals high versus low. There are some who might think things are super slow because they have 'only' seen 5 clients in a day, while others think they are rushed off their feet if they juggled their way to seeing 3. Personally i do think 5 is a lot, but even if I were to see 5 one day, that would be so unusual that I don't think anyone would call me high volume because that might have happened one day out of the month. The majority of days may be zero, one or maximum of two. The reality is, due to the zeros and ones, a low volume provider may be high volume from time to time, because we never know what tomorrow may not bring us. -
Do's and Dont's for SP's in Toronto
fortunateone replied to superzuper's topic in Escort Discussion for Winnipeg
Everyone i would have mentioned has been :) I have heard good things about Veronica Sway, so i hope i have the name right. Other things i have read is that if you don't go indy, many people do use agencies there. They don't have the same lack of credibility agencies have in Vancouver or Winnipeg lol. Also i understand that massage parlours are NOT FS providers, or even bj providers, so take care if you expect more than a hj at a massage parlour. I imagine many guys from BC and AB get a rude awakening, not sure what is up with Winnipeg mps, but just so you know lol -
NJ steps up anti-prostitution efforts ahead of Super Bowl
fortunateone replied to qwertyaccount's topic in In the news
Absolutely. I have no idea why they can't figure out the numbers, if they do this every year, they must have stats from the last Superbowl. Oh, wait. There was no superbowl increase in the numbers. And 330 calls, during the ENTIRE 2012 year, to report suspected trafficking? It barely sounds like an epidemic or alert the media kind of thing. how many of those calls were regarding the same situation? And how many of those ads were fake calls because someone saw an sp ad. -
Don't laugh, i probably would be thrilled to get some flour. I received a bread machine for Xmas, and it is the one item you use a lot of and run out of first lol

Never expected the gift of flowers was meant to be anything more than a nice gesture by someone who just likes to do a little extra. Some guys are taught when young not to visit someone empty handed, it is an old custom that is not followed very often these days. You won't be the first one to have thought of a thoughtful gift of flowers, and won't be the last one, so you don't need to worry about it being misinterpreted as a way to get extras.

I think that the number one thing with being open to seeing the disabled is to advertise that you are open to seeing them. I would think that many have a difficult time to find an sp who is first willing, then able. You have to be wheelchair or cart accessible, you may have to be able to deal with the hearing impaired, which could be challenging just because of buzzing them into your building :) These days with texting it would be easier, but a few years ago i had someone contact me using the TTS service from Telus, a 3rd party operator who read out and then typed out our conversation :) I had to provide full address, buzzer code and apartment number in advance, and he had to arrive right on schedule. I have had wheelchair clients, but my location is challenging due to steeeeeeeep hills at the only entrance. You may have to be willing to do outcalls for the disabled, for these kinds of reasons. And rates may be adjusted to accomodate for extra time.

Caught red handed.. :(
fortunateone replied to Sullivanman82's topic in Escort Discussion for Nova Scotia
Yes, she doesn't want the gritty details (altho assuming she knows it was sex workers, I am assuming she is stereotyping us all as disease infested drug addicts, so part of what she wants to know should include the safety aspect, and std testing on your part asap). She is definitely not going to blame you as much as she will think she is lacking in some way and/or that the sps lured you in. Somehow women are ready to blame everyone but the guy who chose to do what he did. Give info with little graphic detail. She's going to hear you got a bj from someone and think, well i always give you bjs, so why look elsewhere. The thing is, even with a steady supply of sex, some guys still look at porn and masturbate in the shower. Sometimes it is about being the recipient without having to also be a giver. you don't have a lot of posts here on this site, so it may be possible to show her the posts as some insight to what goes on. I don't think it would hurt any SO to read a site like cerb, since it is pro sex and positive style postings, to get a better insight into the clients and sps who are in this in a mature way. people fear what they don't understand. Will her acceptance and/or willingness to include sps into a 3some situation be an end goal, i think someone mentioned it, and i'd have to say that wouldn't be the point. You sought experiences away and apart from her, so including her isn't a solution. You have to decide if the real reason why you see sps is because you don't want to be in a relationship or if you do want to prioritize the relationship. What your SO needs to know, and she should probably read this thread, but what she needs to know is that sps are not like affairs. There is no long term relationship that is risking her relationship with you unless one or both of you decide to make that so. There is no one else wanting you as an SO (no offense :) ) or trying to take you away from her. Once she realizes that this is a no risk situation, she can put that away. -
What Canadaâ??s prostitution laws could look like in 2015
fortunateone posted a topic in In the news
It is interesting that Benedet's claims are misleading due to inaccuracies that i am sure she knows full well. The majority of sex workers are not Asian and Aboriginal, but I do agree that like any other type of worker, they are all doing it for economic reasons lol. in New Zealand, which has similar laws and culture, the industry was decriminalized and regulated. There was no increased demand of services and no increased number of sps entering the business. It is to me a bold faced lie to say that numbers will increase, when there is no evidence to back that up, and when there is direct evidence to refute it, albeit in another country. one of the main concerns in NZ was that if they regulated it and made it easier to do the already legal work, that it would draw in more interested in doing the work. That never happened, and reality is, it is very unlikely to happen. If it was illegal in Canada and not already so easy to do, with the laws in place, then maybe you would see a change. But you aren't going to see a change just because something that rarely affects anyone now suddenly isn't in place. Nothing is stopping women from being sps now, why would the absence of these rarely enforced laws attract them to the business? The reality, as shown in NZ, is that it won't. And if she was indeed interested in the facts to support her government funded job as an abolitionist, she would already know this and come up with some valid reasons for her objections to making the business easier for those doing it. -
Don't sex workers flock to Germany from other countries specifically because Germany makes it possible for them to work safely and legally? What woman working in Sweden for example wouldn't want that? If other countries had the same attitude, there wouldn't be the same kind of numbers knocking on the German brothel doors, they would be happily at home working at a local venue. From a documentary i saw a year or so ago, it seems quite easy to get approval to work there, without a lot of hassle of getting a work visa. I think Australia also provides work visas for sex workers too, maybe New Zealand. In this kind of country, it is possible to travel to work fully above board. In other countries, they don't have work visas, so anyone who wants to come into a more lucrative market has to work illegally. So of course there are going to be facilatators who help to make that happen. someone coming on a tourist or student visa, knowing they are here to do sex work, have to have a place to stay, someone to pay the bills of them getting there, then pay them back. If they come from China or Thailand, they are unlikely to have enough money on them to pay for all that, and yet both they and the importers have a vested interest in them coming here to work, and be happy working here. I don't think the sps who come here are very happy if they are not very busy, because they know their time is limited, that they are here to work, and that they have bills to pay off first, then profits to be made afterward. it is far easier to get someone to come to Canada or anywhere really who has experience in this work and wants to make more than the 20 bucks an hour they receive in their home country. It has to be much more difficult to take the time to find naieve young women who think they are coming to be nannies and maids then trick them to do sex work. So unlikely, that I doubt if it happens to anywhere near the extent the abolitionists claim. There are oodles of willing sex workers who would be happy to travel, no one has to trick them to come here. What i would like to see is that they have the same opportunities that legal workers have, and that they and the facilitators are held accountable for their wellbeing while they are here, and that no one can profit completely for the work they are doing, by charging exorbitant fees and a load of debt they can't repay. As long as they can't come to work legally, that can very well be happening.

it is difficult to say. Will the law enforce that law as stringently as they have been enforcing the bawdy house or living off the avails laws? As in, will they turn a blind eye to the criminal actions of clients because they know that their time and energy is better spent on real crimes? Because that is what they have been doing for decades regarding those laws. I think what many sex workers are saying is they want to continue to work the way they are already working without it being illegal, and because doing it illegally there is always the very real threat that someone unhappy with her about something can expose her and get her evicted or exposed to friends, family and other tenants. With the laws overturned, she will continue to do what she is already doing, and now live without the fear of someone threatening to expose what she is doing at that location. \ I think there are a number of things that used to be illegal that governments eventually delete from the criminal code because they are stupid laws, or just laws no one is actually enforcing, or because society has changed in some way so that the thing itself is no longer a moral threat. Take a look at Colorado today. Would anyone ten years ago have said that any US state, including California, would have retail stores selling pot to non medical use customers? The reason they could make that next step, is because someone made the step to provide it and research it for medical use. That makes society more accepting of it in the abstract. Which leads to them being more accepting of it for general use. When the challenge hit the media, things were buzzing, but at the same time, many people were finally educated about the fact that it is legal work, and that the conditions imposed on the workers wouldn't be tolerated by any other group of workers. Maybe no one is ready for a retail shop to open on Main street, but I doubt if anyone is able to open a Pot Shop on Main Street Colorado either. No doubt they have restrictions and limits as to who can come into the venue and make a purchase, just as there will be restrictions and limits as to who can enter a massage parlour or independent sp incall.

High or Low? Does It Matter?
fortunateone replied to Midnite-Energies's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Yes, what that schedule usually means is 'don't call me at 7am, or midnight or any time on Sundays" lol Some will look at it and think high volume, when it actually may just be the hours of someone who is low volume, but readily available to accomodate different clients times and schedules. I like the comment about using low volume for marketing. I can always remember reading someone saying they were low volume because they 'only' saw two FS clients, and 2 massage clients in a day, and the appts were typically 1.5 hour average, and so on. And I'm trying to add up the hours and times and thinking hell, that's a lot of volume for a low volume provider lol. -
Are Street Ladies a thing of the past
fortunateone replied to Canadiansnowland's topic in Escort Discussion for Winnipeg
Yes, people would come to the cities to drive by the places that had the ladies. All high fashion well dressed great looking, because let's face it, it was the only place to work if you wanted to work, outside of the escort agencies. Nowadays, with the way things are and the media, you think that only hardline drug users ever worked the streets, but that really is very misleading. The ladies on high track made high money for doing literally nothing or next to nothing, no touch, no taste, just give them 500-600 dollars and let them do their thing. I don't think all encounters ended up in cars, i think there were a lot of one hour hotel rooms available as well lol. -
Are Street Ladies a thing of the past
fortunateone replied to Canadiansnowland's topic in Escort Discussion for Winnipeg
No matter how easy it seems to offer indoor and online services, there will always be street workers. New Zealand decriminalized and regulated the industry, and thought the street worker numbers would plummet once it was completely easy to do the indoor work, but the research indicated there was very little change. Sweden criminalized the purchasers, and yet there is still street work going on. -
How to be a great client
fortunateone replied to hillberry's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I was just going to say "Choose wisely'. it goes along with this. In other words, don't go and see someone who doesn't provider your 'dealbreaker' services. It is annoying to be asked for something you don't provide, and sours the whole experience when someone is clearly not interested in receiving the things that other clients repeat specifically to get over and over again. -
I am not 100% sure that LE does monitor boards, tho maybe they should be. I find it hard to believe that if they did they'd have such a hard time shutting down illegal workers, and yet it always seems to be such a surprise to them that stuff is going on behind the scenes. A couple of hours of reading reviews would give them links to ads, phone numbers, and possibly IP addresses, and yet, it takes these guys 3 months of 24/7 surveillance and hard work to get anywhere lol. I am not sure why there is this persistant believe that cerb and other ad sites and forums would shut down. Prostitution in itself even in a Swedish model would still be legal. It isn't in the USA, and they have a dozen or so different sites, reviews, forums, and discussion sites on the topic of which sps to see and not see. If it doesn't affect the business in a country where it is always illegal, not sure why it would affect this country in the ways described. Additional Comments: On some US forums, escorts rely HEAVILY on the reviews. They are concerned if they are new, they don't get reviews, and no reviews means no business. The more reviews they have, the better chance they have of getting business. A couple of reviews could be plants, to get clients to come and it ends up being a sting. But a dozen or two, necessary for them, will virtually guarantee they are guaranteed as legitimately sp, not LE. Those verification sites help both client and sp, and again, very necessary in a way to verify neither one is LE. The charges there are serious, they aren't like here if someone gets stung with a solicitation (public) and has to go to John school for 4 hours. Or a stern talking to from LE and a abolitionist 'help' crisis centre volunteer.

Besides the negative stereotyping, what also concerns me is a quick google of the term leads to some pictures of ladies approaching trucks, entering/exiting, in the area. iT seems extremely risky for this reason as well :) I'd never heard the term before I read it in a post, and then realized later what he actually was talking about. The negative stereotypes are also that the ladies who hang out at these truck stops tend to be the marginalized less fortunate SWs as well, so there is the typical SW stereotyping of drug addiction and STDs assumption along with the derogatory terminology.
-
i was just browsing thru the legal section, I know this is an old thread, but I remembered it when a relative or mine recently posted something. He drives a truck long distance. Sps who see truckers in their trucks are referred to as "lot lizards." I don't know about anyone else, but if that is the attitude and term they are using with each other and to others, I would want to know this before I considered providing this service.

I think the best thing to do is every time the media puts out one of their misleading articles, you take the time to post comments or send irate messages to the lazy reporters who seem unable to do proper research. Don't accept the blatant lies they post. I read one article that claimed that only the 'top tier' of sps want business to continue, 90% want out and work under desperate conditions and/or are forced. Apparently they took the 10% which are actually SW street based workers who work much differently that the other 90% who live pretty comfortable lives and have a lot more choices about what they do, don't do, where they work, and who they see, because they can afford to turn people down. Apparently they are only hearing the voices of some sps, and pretending that those voices are not the majority. I think even the street based workers recognize that anything that can make their working conditions safer or easier is a good thing, and would say that themselves, rather than allowing others to claim that they want out of the business. And I never believe that report anyway. SW goes to a 'help' centre, and the first thing they get asked are do they want help to exit the industry. Sp thinks the help is conditional on them wanting out, so they say "yes'.
-
Yes, smelling good means using soap and water in the naughty bits and 'behind' them lol. If you aren't sure, then wash it again! RE: size, you do not sound like someone who needs to worry about your size being an issue. 35 is nothing. For myself, providing massage is a pleasure. But it is really difficult to do on someone who literally feels like just skin on top of bones. Since i am taking the time to do the massage, I like a bit more cushion and a bit more square footage to cover lol. Also, guys who are not media's image of perfect make sps like me who are also not perfect more at ease. I think we feel that shape of guy is going to be less judgmental about our shape and size. And age. :)

I think the current policing, so to speak, has always been at the municipal level, and to that point, the laws weren't being strictly enforced anyway. So the federal government can impose whatever they want (not that we want that) it will still come down to what the local police are willing to spend their time and resources on, and they've proven over many years, prostitution related charges are not that thing. Even if they went Nordic model, the police then would still focus as they do now on street workers and their clients, except with that model, they would have to let the street workers carry on doing what they are doing, and apprehend the clients only. Which I am assuming they will figure is a waste of time, since it isn't the clients looking that the public objects to, it is the SWs themselves hanging around on the corners and in front of their businesses. The nordic model would be counterproductive to removing SWs from the street, only the clients would be discouraged. . I think someone asked what will change given that the laws were struck down, and my answer to that would be nothing. The current laws are being broken daily and willfully all the time. Sps provide incall, that's illegal with the existing law. Without the law, the only change will be the sps provide the incall legally. So no change. I'm not sure of how to describe it. It's maybe like marijuana, technically illegal to sell, buy or use, but people do anyway. When it is not technically illegal to sell, buy or use, people carry on doing it. Nothing changes for the general public, or the people using it lol. People seem to think there will be huge differences, but basically sps are currently working the way they want to, even if it is technically breaking the law. Some sps who did not want to break the laws will now be offering incalls in the future, so that part would change for them. I think there might be 6 total across the country who made the conscious decision to never do incalls lol

Does a Face Pic make a big difference?
fortunateone replied to SultryNikki's topic in Escort Discussion for Winnipeg
The downside of using face pics can be seen here: http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=160542 re: face pics, as in the above link. What is to stop an unscrupulous guy from booking an appointment with this sp he knows, and then go about either blatantly or subtley blackmailing her for free time, discounts, or extra services. What is to stop him from exposing her to mutual friends if she refuses him as a client, or puts her foot down if he gets pushy. When sps started posting advertisements, it was 3 lines in a newspaper column. Then some photos were used, often by mps using stock photography in ads or in the yellow pages. Then the internet came along, and the traditional sps still did not put pictures in their ads, and the ones with pictures tended to be BS anyway. \\ Now the online ad with 3 to 5 pics is 'insufficient'. 10% of anyone enquiring asks if there are more pics. for what? 5 pics showing a variety of angles, what more is needed? OH, FACE pictures, of course, my bad. lol. Sps are already being pestered for videos, live face to face online chats, and endless emails, messages and texting. And I remind you, that the majority of guys managed to call sps, book appointments and have terrifically great times, based on a 3 line ad in a newspaper, with not one single picture. For anyone who felt that was too much uncertainty, they went to massage parlours where they could see and meet the sps prior to choosing someone to spend time with. Where is this demand from clients, the carrots dangling in front of the new sps who don't know what will be a good idea 2 years or 10 years down the road take them? That they refuse to book or consider sps who won't use face pics? Really? I don't know, but to me, that just seems really pushy. The limits of this work, and the advertising included, has already been pushed really far. low rates are pushed for, high risk services are pushed for, and now the sp can't even leave the privacy of her home without the idea that someone somewhere has seen her online ad with the nudity and provocative poses, but never contacted or seen her in person, but they know her general location and what she looks like. In the past if someone collected an address and no showed, the sp still had the reassurance that even tho he knew where she was, he still didn't know exactly what she looked like. She could leave thinking that even if he sat out there for 5 hours waiting for her to come out, to follow her, or see what she was driving, or whatever, good luck with that because at least he didn't know what her face looked like! -
Old friend turned escort?
fortunateone replied to nomff23's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
That's good to hear. For me, I was wondering whether she would think that you might try to blackmail her into something (free sessions, discounts, etc etc) by either saying ahead of time that you do know her in real life, or waiting until you arrive to say the same thing. You have to expect her to be suspicious of your sudden interest but as well, mentioning that you know who she is. I assume she used face pics in her ads, and just might link this thread to the other one here where some guys are discussing that they won't see sps who don't have face pics, for the sps who think they have to lol.
