  1. You have to consider the chart is based on proper and correct use of condoms. It would not be in best interest of people to imply that using a condom is just as risky as using one. Because that would be misleading. And in the chart for protected FS, it does specifically say that syphillis and HSV are considered LR (Low risk) not NR (No risk). Also each risk level is explained. So if it is a documented fact that someone giving a bbbj has gotten syphillis (mainly because that is the only sexual contact they had with an infected partner,) that qualifies as high risk. I think the main point with these sorts of charts and info, is that they are based on facts (documented cases of infections) and based on transmission facts (as in the activity that led to the infection), not assumptions. As the ones at primary risk, it is best when the sps are fully informed, making their choices based on the real risks rather than brushing them off as insignificant, or worse, not actually posing any threats to their health. Choosing not to do bbbjs, for example, means choosing not to expose oneself to the obvious dangers, including being out of commission during treatment for the eventual std.
  2. Its nice to be concerned. I take it from this that you see that she has stopped all advertising, removed presence from whatever she could control, and in addition stopped responding to phone, email, etc? If that's the case, she has either stopped working or stopped working here under that name, possibly moved to a new place and doesn't want any attention or connection to something happening here. All of those things are signals to stop attempts to contact or attempts to gather more info. It would be great if someone did make an announcement, but in this biz the last thing an sp wants to do is to say she's retiring then come back 3 months later, and/or the usual responses to the announcement from some guys is "she'll be back in 3 months". note: In the event that all of her ads are current and up to date, but she is not replying to you alone, stop trying. She has not figured out how to get you to stop, but she doesn't want to see you specifically.
  3. I have a hard time believing someone has actually put down in writing that the presence of certain items will lead to a fine. The presence of those particular items may lead to a federal crime (operating a bawdy house for example), but for bylaws again it comes down to do you have an escort license or mp license or mp attendent license. If you do not, they will fine you for working without a license. I have heard that the mps have hour restrictions for operation. If a massage parlour with a valid city license chooses to operate after hours, they will get a fine, just the same as a bar or nightclub would. I believe all businesses are subject to city bylaws for all kinds of eventuality. So below is about 18 pages of stuff regarding licensing for independent escorts and agencies. Within that is given the reasons for fines that may be issued to licensed and unlicensed businesses. Within there are some of the things that licensed operators are required to do. For example, ads must include the operator's license #, failing to do so probably results in a fine. http://www.edmonton.ca/bylaws_licences/C12452.pdf Massage license info. Even if the mp provides sexual services, they usually get an mp license of some sort, and the employees need one afaik. Again, within all this sort of information are the rules and guidelines, so you have to just understand that failing to comply with the rules laid out is what you can be fined for. You should click on the link for the copy of the massage practicioner bylaw as I cannot link it here. http://www.edmonton.ca/bylaws_licences/licences_permits/massage-licence.aspx In that bylaw 10396 it states on page 2 this: All of those things mentioned are legit massage practises, so this bylaw must by default be the one applied to sexual service massage parlour operations. In spite of that, further into the reading you can see specific references to what kind of training employees are supposed to have. Which contradicts that quote above, if you ask me, either the bylaw is for professional massage therapists or it is not, and if it is, why is there another set of bylaws for the a, b and c above? Anyway, on page 6 you will see reference to the hours of operation.
  4. Make sure you know what the requirements are. To bring a car across the border, into BC, there is a 3 day delay. You can find out more about importing requirements by going to the govt website which I am right now too lazy to go find lol. I cross the border all the time, doing commercial entries, and almost every time I am there there is someone clearing the paperwork for the cars picked up across the line, with a team of drivers who are taken across just to drive the cars back over the border. Everyone waits in the office while the clearance is done, then off they go after the taxes, etc. Free trade implies that US made cars will be duty free, in reality that may or may not happen. Duties will of course be applicable on foreign made cars. Even so, time, paying the drivers, etc etc, the savings are still significant enough for them to do it. Them being dealers who then are going to increase the price and sell at a profit. So again, the savings have to be significant and the requirements not that complicated. Its a single item, you can go and clear it yourself actually. But you will be afaik making two trips to complete the task.
  5. Someone did and was unsuccessful. The challenge to the city requiring indy to get an indy escort license was that prostitutes are not escorts, prostitution is not illegal, and there is no city bylaw or licensing that can apply to a prostitute going on an outcall. The court upheld that the city could still make them get a license anyway, and if they don't have one, fine them for lack of one, regardless what they were doing.
  6. People go both ways, but I do not encourage it. I provide a sensual massage start, plus a more erotic and sensual encounter. That is not at all possible with someone rushing around trying to get 2 shots off within that time. If the client decides he wants it and has listened to the caution (good chance 2nd one will be unsuccessful plus first one is within first 10 minutes (or less), then yes I will attempt it but he is choosing the half hour, not half hour plus 2nd shot, and if not done, its done. So many seem to think that 2 shots for the rate is 'cheaper' than one, but its often too less satisfying shots than it couild have been building momentum for one exceptional one.
  7. I don't think mps and mp attendants are going to be fined for bylaw infractions because the bylaw is that they need to be licensed, and the workers need individual licenses. So if you operate an mp without a license, you will get a bylaw infraction/fine. If you operate as an independent escort in the city without a license, you will get a bylaw infraction/fine. If your mps employees are working without their own licenses, you (or they) will get a bylaw infraction fine.. I am not sure what set of bylaws you may be interested in trying to read, as the conditions themselves (you must have a business license issued by the city to run a business) IS what cities sell and what cities are looking for you to have. Above that, there really isn't anything to do with the day to day operations I wouldn't think. See if you can find anything on retail store business licenses as far as "rules" go and I don't think you'll find anything either, other than the business needs a license, if they run their store without one or dont renew on time, there are fines involved.
  8. Like many laws, and legal definitions, i don't think it really matters if it makes sense or not. The main thing is that in theory, it is a perfectly valid interpretation. In law, indy sps who offer incalls (whether private home based or hotel room) risk the charges of being in or running one. In fact, i can't think of any case where they are actually charged (speaking ONLY of indy single occupant set ups, nothing else compares). In law, as was interpreted by more than one source, fwiw, a client who sees numerous sps habitually or frequently (and lets face it, for someone to see sps more than a couple of times a year at their home is frequent), can certainly be open to facing the same charges. Reality and common sense, of course, tells us that no one is really going to be investigated for this, just as no indy single sp operating an incall is going to be investigated and charged with this. It is possible that LE will be contacted about either the client with the frequent visitors or the single indy sp with her frequent visitors and ask them what's going on, are they ok, is everything safe and ok with them. But to expend finances, resources and time on that kind of thing, the court would throw it out just to teach them a lesson not to waste their time. With the bawdy house law the way it is, you can be charged with being "found in" as in for no other purpose than to engage in prostitution (or enjoy the services of one who is engaging). When an mp is raided, this is the standard charge. I think its pretty obvious that a house or apartment is unlikely to be raided, but the fact remains, the same activities are taking place. I made the point for a reason. I did not expect the personal attacks from the OP for posting information on topic. Additional Comments: Regularly can certainly be defined as "every week or month". If it is not rarely, or once a year, it is regular. Sps determine they have regular clients if they show up once a week or once a month. Of course its hard to prove, that's my point. Its also hard to prove a single indy sp offering incall option in a safe, discrete and private location is going to be a danger to you, or, in fact, any more illegal than you having regular visitors come to see you weekly. Both situations fall, technically, into the same category. You can't skirt around it by saying it needs you to have more people in your home at one time to qualify. Indy single sps having their own incall don't have several people there at the same time. The people come to visit one at a time, over a period of time. So, technically its the same thing as a client who sees many many sps visiting him in his own location over a period of time. I am stressing this info because there is sometimes a lot of misleading types of comments on this topic. It doesn't do anyone any good to make them feel edgy, nervous or paranoid going into an sp incall. This is completely unnecessary, and really detrimental to the entire experience. When or if a multitude of sps who offer this start suddenly being targeted by LE with trumped up charges, then many be concerned. But frequenting any SC, with its rumours of 'extra" services going on in the private areas, now that is something people should be wary of. Same with some mps. If I wanted to ensure that I was never going to be opening myself to the possibility of being interrupted in the middle of sexy time, the last places you'll find me is in an SC or mp. Additional Comments: SA, I would submit that you can ask anyone here, but most clients do not see up to 50 visitors in their home in a year. This puts you into the 'so many' category, in my opiniion and no doubt many others. If others interpret info provided in a certain way, you can't really start 'attacking' us for that interpretation. It really sets an unpleasant tone, no one here was telling you what you can or cannot post or flat out call you a liar..
  9. It would also be a false sense of security if you assumed that all agency sps are checked, and therefore its safe to do unsafe services, more so than seeing an indy sp, for example.
  10. It's an interesting story, but weak on actual facts. They quote people who are not LE who have stats, but LE doesn't say "oh, yes, we go into an mp and every time find 5 or 6 underage working there". They say they accelerate the investigation, but again, if there were solid facts to support the claims of the anti-mp folks who are quoted as truth, wouldn't the reporter have included those?
  11. I believe all of this is what many of us have been saying, SA, for quite some time, including linking and quoting from articles such as the ones you have just posted. I think, if you are sensing some frustration from sps who offer incalls on this topic, that is why. Now, on the question of saying an SC is offering incall, because they offer sexual services, well, I can't think of anything less legal than that one. At least some mps allow for body rub licensing, but there couldn't be anything legal about sexual services in an SC could there? The question of "incall" in such a location is not applicable, imo. In the case of mps, well there isn't supposed to be FS, in your area, but in other cities it is considered a safer alternative to outcalls and street calls, so LE in some cities inspect but don't lay any kinds of charges. The exceptions of mps being investigated are like Samantha explained, where there is a danger of illegal workers. The only apartment or house style incalls I've heard of being investigated, raided, shut down are ones with multiple workers and multiple people involved, all in one or two locations, heavy traffic, 24/7 activity, often someone meeting clients in the lobby several times a day or hour. Just simply drawing attention. Then the workers are illegally working while on tourist visas, and you just have a recipe for raids. SA, I think you are a good example for where outcalls can be considered falling under the "bawdy house" description, because having so many sps come to visit (and no, it doesn't matter that you describe it as a gift for a friend, if those women are advertising as sps, the activity is sp/client) making your home a place habitually used (or however the law phrases it). So there is always what is technically legal or illegal, and what is actually done in real life. The quotes you provided show you what is actually done in real life. Except for the part where he mentions charging with prostitution, that shows how little he knows about the laws in Canada, imo, to make such a glaring mistake.
  12. Don't be fooled by that glimpse of eggnog. I found some 2 weeks ago, in one location of a drugstore chain. No other grocery store or location that i visited, INCLUDING THAT SAME ONE a week later, had any eggnog of any kind anywhere. It was like a cruel joke, because I didn't pick up two or three cartons, believing that there would be more everywhere. I put it in coffee, like an eggnog latte. Terrific. in the meantime, Halloween must come first, and be treated with all due respect, of course.
  13. ^^ when I read that it reminded me of another solution: lock em down after the OP. That way no one would be able to add a reply of any kind, which would be completely fair to all and ensures all recos will remain in chronological order as well. Also means that if someone else saw the sp, the only way he can acknowledge that is to write his own reco. I think it was mentioned before that if anyone feels the need to thank or comment or otherwise acknowledge the reviewer posting in the first place, there is the reputation comments for that even in closed threads.
  14. Perhaps new members need to get a must read message, prior to them making any sort of posts, to ensure they understand these rules. I was on another site where there is always a core group of advertisers who try to circumvent the posting policies, so admin created a forced read visible when everyone next visited the site, the only way out of it is when the "I agree" button showed up after about a minute or so. Examples for dos and don'ts are also very helpful, with screen shots etc, for the ones who are still a bit confused by it all. That is my diplomatic response on the topic, lol.
  15. You ignore these requests. They are simply wasting your time. Or you simply say there will be no more pics, and leave it at that. And you provide discretion and therefor require it, so you are not going to provide a face pic for any reason. To see you, they need to commit and show up so that both of you have better reasons for privacy and discretion. (I tell enquirers asking for more pics that if pics are their sole reason for booking appts, I am not the one for them. I require someone who puts a little more thought into their sessions). You don't have to do anything, in some cases these requests are testing you to see how far you will go. In this biz, being too accomodating, past your own comfort level is a bad thing. For a newer sp, it is dangerous. I know this is an old post, but what you really need to do is spend some time reading many topics in the lounge, the new section, the ads, etc, and learn all the things in a short time that it took some clients and sps years to figure out. It will benefit you in the long run, and keep you safe, and keep you happier doing the work when you learn how to advertise and screen to attract the sort of clients that are going to be the best match for what you provide.
  16. I have seen posts, not ads, on other places that are those not so subtle digs at the expense of other sps. As in, The point being different sps do different things, neither is bad or good, just what they do. Haven't seen the origin basis for the OP tho, but I think in general if you are seeing questionable activities, you use the report post feature. You don't post in a thread or start a new one to call out whoever did it. If (guessing) the OP used fake pics in her ad, and someone noticed it, their job really would be to advise mod privately to deal with it, not to post it in a mean spirited way publically, I would think. I may have a different opinion if I see the origin of the comments.
  17. Those things may be used, but my pov is don't put it in writing. Don't email rates and don't include them into an advertisement. Don't text it either. Don't agree to meet a client in a public place that ends up being a conversation in public about rates and services. Only discuss rates and services by phone call. The phone call has been clearly ruled to be private communication and perfectly legal. It is rare to find any indy sp facing any kind of repercussions about offering incalls. It is more likely when the location is a shared one, or someone else is running the show. It is more likely when the sp is loud, busy, and otherwise drawing attention to the number of visitors at her door (such as providing at a house or basement suite, or coming down to the lobby of an apartment building several times a day many days a week to meet men and escort them up to her apartment).
  18. OK, just for the record, the comment wasn't that this topic shouldn't be on cerb, but that the OP should get her entertainment news from the show E Talk, not TMZ. On that note, I prefer entertainment news over regular news because it is, after all, entertaining. I like movies and good tv, so it is more interesting to me to be uptodate with that info. I do not care at all about info about music entertainers tho.
  19. I think she would have had a better case had she not been an agency, had not obtained an indy license, and had faced a bylaws fine for going to a client for the purpose of prostitution. As a prostitute, she should not face a fine for not having an escort license, which is what the stings actually do -- seek out unlicensed sps advertising sexual services, setting up an appt, and then fining for lack of license. So the case would supposedly have had merit in her argument that the city has no business collecting license fees or fining prostitutes. Which is true. How tho they can claim they don't know what's going on in court is interesting, since I thought part of the Edmonton licensing process was an informational meeting about staying safe while doing sex work.
  20. When I'm asked by a reg about doing something out of the usual, I let him know the rate. for outcalls are extra, as well, I do think most clients know this, and it is a good policy to charge extra for them if most of your calls are incalls. I have regs I have seen for 10 years, all pay up front, without exception. I've never had any problems with this, and highly recommend to never vary from that policy. The clients really don't expect or demand to be treated differently on a 3rd or 4th visit, in my experience.
  21. c2c, there is absolutely no reason you should have to go to the trouble and expense of a 2nd phone due to someone's inability to be professional. I posted this caution on another thread, basically texting is EXACTLY the same as making a phone call EXCEPT anyone can read the other side of the conversation. AT least if someone calls you up out of the blue in an inconvenient time, you can say wrong number and hang up, or not now I'm busy, I'll call you. A text that uses terms like "incall" and no doubt "hun' or "baby" is unexplainable. There is nothing discrete about texting, yet time after time I see the same rationalization that it is. But more and more I am seeing exactly this kind of complaint from clients because of that presumption. Sps who wouldn't dream of calling a client out of the blue will send texts at inappropriate times. So all you need to do is ask yourself, if you wouldn't phone that client with that information at that time, then you should NOT be sending a text either.
  22. Independents will likely provide the location, but also at the massage parlour locations allow for that as well, right there and available. All you need to do is get yourself there, without the stress of getting hotel room for yourself. The situation out west is often that pretty much only hotel rooms are used if the sp is visiting the city. Otherwise, it is more private and discrete. In Edmonton, a lot of the action takes place at the mps rooms.
  23. I'm over 40, never had one and never wanted one. There are only a couple of people in my immediate family (brothers, first cousins) that do. The majority of us do not. It was never my intention to have them, even my niece said the same thing (altho she ended up with one after all). I don't think it is strange at all. I figure there are enough kids in the world who don't have homes that if you suddenly find yourself wanting one, just out of the blue like that, there'll be one already here lol. (which is what my aunt did, someone who was childless and single thru her life, adopted a girl late in life) So for the title question: I don't have much interest in babies as people to hang out with lol.
  24. In addition, if someone wants to do something evil, remember it isn't as private as one might assumes.
