Ask Service Providers Question Thread
fortunateone replied to Origin's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I don't think you can read too much into it. In some areas of the country, adding an extra charge to specific services (like bbbj or even adding GFE to FS sessions) is fairly common. What it does is allows the client to choose the service session, and I think you can be fairly confident that an sp is not offering the service unless she is agreeable to it. If she is not, the option will not be available (there are some non-GFE FS sps for example in some mps in Edmonton. The rate is lower than a GFE FS session. There are many clients who do not want GFE, and having the GFE as an add-on means that the FS only guy does not have to pay as much as the GFE FS guy, which is fair considering he is not getting the same menu as the GFE FS guy. An sp who starts out in this way may find she does the same kind of options wherever she works. The other reason described to me by someone who offers greek at an extra charge, is the additional 100 means that there are fewer takers. This means the # of greek included sessions are fewer than if she did not charge extra, meaning that her body is not undergoing that additional stress as often as it might be. Even someone who enjoys greek is not going to enjoy it 3 times a day 6 days a week, or at the very least that will be super hard on her body, and/or she will end up not being able to do it one day but she won't know ahead of time, which will upset the client. The same might be said for bbbjs. It increases the risk of her health, so an extra charge means that not every client is going to choose to have it, so in the end she won't be doing it every session every day. -
One comment, which I won't quote, but really needed to be addressed was someone said try it and see how she responds, well, that is a great way to get yourself kicked right out (or kicked lol). Never ever just try something with an sp -- always always ask first, then if or when you get an ok, try it gently until she says no or go. But don't just do it (and this goes for anything, especially something unusual (like anal play, etc). Don't assume you "know" she'll like it if she just tries it -- if she doesn't already say she does something, you are just about the last person she is going to just "try" it with if you didn't ask but forge ahead). For the OP, I think first and foremost do not expect an sp who does not already offer a PSE experience to be willing or ready to try any of the things you describe. If she wanted to do it, it would be on her menu. Don't think having a dozen or so appts with her is going to change the menu. For the "forced" bj thingy, look for an sp who can and offers deep throat bjs. They are about the only ones who might be comfortable acting out a gagging scenario. Other than that, there are always a few sps who advertise with more extreme services, or offer up PSE. PRimarily what you seek is more likely to be within the expectations or menu of a PSE provider. But really, as mentioned, don't think that a few tattoos are indicative of an extreme session lol.

Kinda mad....
fortunateone replied to LuxeMulvari's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Nothing better than a good attitude, imo, and the ones who call down the curvey ladies often do the same to the mature ones, regardless of size or shape. To me, it means they must have very low self esteem to go along with that nasty talk, and simply cannot handle a fully grown woman. Scared of them, I think. It does take a confident man to see a confident woman, imo. -
Etiquette Question - Tipping
fortunateone replied to Incognito's topic in New to this? Things you should know...
I think in your friend's case "tip" is code for the fee for anything extra, like hj, bj, fs beyond just a straight non-sexual massage. I believe there is a room fee paid to the front desk and yes, that does not go to the girl in the room. NOt sure what they do in the case where there are no extras, I am sure it happens. Possibly she gets a minimum amount of some sort?? Her real $ come directly from extras or "tip". However, that amount is discussed before anything happens, so it should not have been a surprise to him or even up to him to decide how much extra to give her. If she didn't discuss the correct amount for anything extra, that would be an unfortunate lesson she can learn for next time. If there was nothing extra, just massage, then giving her 20 would be within reason I suppose. -
I've seen a lot of reviews on other sites, and the Fox experience seems to be an overwhelmingly positive one (including the rooms, if you can't do outcall) I've seen reviews (highly positive) from guys who have seen dozens of different sps lol.

interesting in the article, the guy is quoted to say the most trouble they had started or was in the 1990's and 2000s. It is important to note that this is after the laws came in place. It seems a natural assumption that with decrim of those same laws, that perhaps things will return to what they were like before those problematic years for that area ?? lol

Great, and more relevant for you, L, that folks in your area posted the info. Also great since so many more have the info now too. I went to a free clinic, because it was quite close to me and because I was really curious about their services and approach, and I was very happy with everything. I received the works, and hep B shots as well. No medical ins card info, no real name or full name (just one you can remember), no judging, no hesitation in providing the full range of available testings.
-
I think you will find, with a bit of looking, std testing clinics that offer anonymity with an alias. (in fact it is possible to use your sp name for the test results, get a hard copy in that name, and if you were one who has no issues showing the recent results, it would not be identifying real name. Using sp name that you are known by, advertise by, etc, is actually more relevant lol) I would stay away from walk in general practise clinic or the regular doctor anyway. All too often these places seem to want to talk you out of full testing and/or pre-treatment (say, if you had a possible exposure to chlamydia, typically now they don't just give out the treatment, they want you to wait for test results from what I hear -- that is different than before they would just automatically hand it over) I think I have mentioned now and then that all new clients should be tested before they see the first sp. The NZ example is that OHS policy requires that informational posters be prominently displayed on site (meaning the clients are exposed to the information when visiting), and that no uncovered services are provided (in order to comply with the regulations (cbj, covered daty, etc) It is the hope I believe that exposure to information, and reducing exposure to contact, will have the effect that clients will take themselves for testing and/or be aware of the impact of stds. On the topic of making it mandatory or not, I am on the fence. If you want legitimacy, it will come with regulations. And part of regulations on such an industry will include health and safety regulations and policies. It is or should be within the right of an employer to require a recent test, and/or to encourage regular testing possibly by having technicians visit the work place, or educational training? Sometimes people say "it's sex, it should just be natural to everyone". Well, it is, but it isn't common knowledge and it is dangerous actually to leave it in the hands of the workers to just go ahead and do it on their own. When I worked in a fitness field, in order to be employed you needed to be certified. IN order to maintain certification, a certain number of working hours per year, CPR/First Aid, and a minimum # of training/workshop hours were required in order to renew certification. I was dealing with people, in a workplace, and it made sense to have the kind of knowledge to help them if they get into an accident, injure themselves, get exposed to something. I can't think of any good reason not to have similar requirements for sex workers who have to have licenses, etc. Other industries have requirements and minimum standards. If you want to have credibility and reduce the stereotypes, you up the game.

Interesting, this kind of thing was happening to me on Tuesday. Open up IE, and it would take forever to appear, then in a flash, it shut down if I tried to use it. (This happened repeatedly) At some point, it started working normally. I was changing the default site to try to find something simple to open so it didn't have to work so hard lol, it was so puzzling at the time. Seems to have been a temporary thing.

Candle Preferences
fortunateone replied to castle's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
You can get good quality candles by staying away from dollar and discount stores. For convenience, a good department store (I'm not much of a shopper so I don't know names (The Bay?) , my expertise is via wholesale lol -- go to the source) and/or mid-upper range gift shops. In a boutique type shop and/or aromatherapy type store you are likely to find special collections or handmade candles. You might be able to find a candle store where candles are actually made there . You can also order online if you are planning to really go to town with the candle idea. You might also consider good candle plates, candle holders, and/or using candle lanterns. Candle plates are wider than holders, and if it is a dripper, you won't have melty wax all over the floor or table. Candle lanterns, same idea, plus less likely of tipping over if jostled and/or some lanterns can be hung from ceiling hooks. -
New Zealand does not appear to make it mandatory, but it might be a condition of employment in a brothel if an employer makes it so. There is a big push on education and awareness, and that the employer must provide visible sexual health information. On the part of the worker, whether an employee or independent, it is suggested that a minimum of two visits be made per year, a visit prior to starting the work. around page 33 the section starts. http://www.osh.govt.nz/order/catalogue/pdf/sexindustry.pdf

Why we ask for refferences...
fortunateone replied to Grass_Hopper's topic in New to this? Things you should know...
I also see no reason to ask for or require work # information. We are not in the US, and proving the potential client is not LE (and therefore has a legit job elsewhere) is unnecessary. Asking for such info, in the hopes that having provided it, he now shows up in order to prevent any problems related to having given out such details does not make for a happy encounter, imo. About the only thing that can assure someone is not typically a WOT is references from other sps, who can attest to his reliability. I have had some guys call from many diff #s, work/home/cel/blocked and not show up to booked appts, lol. Not exactly a guarantee, well, nothing is really, so just work out a policy/process that reduces time wasters is the best thing. For the truly dangerous, in my opinion, many of them have no problem providing all the details (outside of sp refererences) requested. -
I think if you want to post this kind of announcement, you should be providing links to the supporting evidence like a news story or other proof. As it goes, one wonders how it is you "know" this to be a fact, and presented as a done deal, when in "fact" many of us know that at best you are a wannabe client and at worst a lookie loo who goes to mps to see the lineup, but never books appts at any of them.

Justice Minister presses .......... to remove erotic-services ads
fortunateone replied to cat's topic in In the news
That is exactly the point. We have to be vigilant what we allow to be disappeared without protest, because frankly they will go after first any site that offers free advertising, since free ads do not require a payment such as a CC, meaning technically they assume that having a CC to pay means they are 18 and over? Then, they will go to any online advertising venue that is paid, because these sites do not require proof of age or citizenship, meaning anyone can use them and they will be rife with trafficked victims and underage workers. So, my POV is don't be too quick to accept the govt to "fix" CL for us, they do not have the right and they do not have the support of the legit advertisers and users of CL erotic services. No one is petitioning for eliminating electronic or car sales because the odd person sells stolen goods online, right? Well, why not protect the legit advertisers and potential buyers from these scammers by demanding the removal of those sections too?? And I love this comment: Why so sure? That is a gross assumption, imo, and lacks any sort of verifiable evidence. Not to mention, it also accuses CL of "getting into the business" of child exploitatin, etc. Which is offensive, misleading, and slanderous, imo. -
Christmas Gifts... Help! < $300
fortunateone replied to 40ishsxaddict's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
For a dating friend, it should be fine. Consider that if it is a new relationship, you don't have the inside info completely on likes and dislikes, plus returns are awkward at this stage in a relationship if you fail in the attempt lol. If you keep your eyes and ears open, you will know the right place to choose for a gift card, imo. I think like money, one awkward part is the $$ amount. At least with giftcards, there are preset amounts, so you have a predetermined limit. You can't agonize over the best amount to give lol. -
Christmas Gifts... Help! < $300
fortunateone replied to 40ishsxaddict's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Gift cards are a good idea, if only because, unlike cash or a cheque, you do have to at least make an effort to personalize the choice by getting a gift card from a specific place. It shows, "I know you like lingerie (or chocolates, or dvds, or home decor) but since I don't know exactly your size (or allergies, or what you already have, or what you need), here is something that you can use after Xmas, when all the sales are on, and you can get yourself something (or more of something) for less. Other than that, I too loathe shopping. I do not mind going into a liquidation or clearance type place, because you never know what you might find there. These are not usually a large as a big box store, and the selection is varied, without being overwhelming. Usually the items come from stores that have closed, so they are useful, in the box, and often worth more than the ticket price. Your budget sounds like the gift idea is for someone close, like Mom or an SO or close relative, so you will be the best judge of the benefits of choosing something personal vs practical. For myself, I would love getting an espresso machine over a housecoat, or new sheet sets over bath products. I would like any gift, but both housecoat and bath products are a bit impersonal and predictable, imo. One year I gave a grocery store gift card to my nephew, his SO (at the time), and their 4 kids lol. It seemed more appropriate for a struggling family. Now he is minus the SO, has custody of the kids, and a good job. So I just buy the kid's gifts. -
You are quite right. afaik, the main question to ask about any discussion of rates/servies, is when it is done, do you have an expectation of privacy. So, even on your cel, you expect your conversation to be private. Emails as well, even tho technically someone can get into your account, you have set a reasonable limit on them and expect your access to be yours alone. And yes, prostitution is definitely not illegal, which is why those stupid laws were created in the first place. I imagine it is near impossible to make it illegal, otherwise they wouldn't have messed around with criminalizing the activities around it. Also, keep in mind, that until the mid-80's, none of those laws even existed.

Online classified ads give sex workers safe avenue to work: criminologist
fortunateone replied to a topic in In the news
This is so true. Like it or not, the site is a tool used by sex workers, and its removal is a direct attack on us and our attempts to do business, in the best way we choose for ourselves. Removing an entire venue, simply because a couple of under 18 years might, at some point, be able to use it is another attempt to control us, make policies that affect thousands in some misguided attempt to help 3 or 4. Also, the gov't official knows full well they can't pass legislation against sex work advertising; such attempts have already been attempted. They are trying to circumvent Canadian laws by having CL do it voluntarily. For the censorship issue alone, everyone working in or utilizing this industry, regardless of their views on the quality of CL and its users, should be very very vocal against this. Allowing this to happen, without a fight, gives these people the idea that they can go ahead and make actual laws that will ultimately affect every advertising venue and more. -

How Far Ahead to Book?
fortunateone replied to Winnipegcub's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
You just want to work with what her booking policies are, and be flexible at that. Knowing that anything can and does happen that is. I have had people call from the other side of town, and fail to show up 15 minutes later. Others call a week or a few days ahead, and be on time. I have a 2 call policy. By all means call any day of the week to check my availability. Give me an idea of day or time, so that I can tell you if that is a day I am here all day, or have other plans. Call that morning, in case anything has come up for my schedule that prevents me from being here. Lately, I have had kitchen work going on, and altho I push for early AM, and am told it will take 10 minutes, even so people show up on their time frame not mine. So 9-9:30 is the agreed time, but it is now 10:45 and the person is not done still. Thankfully, I pushed for the early time, cuz originally they wanted to be here at 10:30-11:00!! anyway, on the topic. A call (not an email, not a text, when you are looking at making and confirming appts, never ever ever allow yourself to rely on "assuming" anything. Mainly the last call is when the person is ready to head over, estimate the ETA. I do not care one bit if someone is earlier or later, as long as they make that call or don't assume I will drop everything because they call from 5 minutes away and expect me to be ready. If someone calls a few days earlier, suggests a time, and cannot make it, I do not care at all if they do not call to let me know. IMO, there is not an appt until they confirm on the way. But I don't have a limited schedule. You can call any time between 9AM and 10PM 7 days a week. The only exception, for the obvious, is that errands must be run and other obligations may take me away for part of a day, any of which I know by 9AM the day or the day before. -
Pretalk. What Happens Before The Dates...?
fortunateone replied to a topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Nice of her to let you know. I would never assume that going thru an agency will at any time actually connect you one to one with the sp. One prime reason for sps to use agencies is to not deal with the day to day interaction, or even the booking process, but allow someone else to do it all for them. Maybe a time issue, may simply that they don't like that level of interaction. It sounds, because she was forwarded emails, and has an opinion about it, that she is one who does like the interaction, hence her decision to go indy. -
Help, i need advice
fortunateone replied to Studio 110 by Sophia's topic in Escort Discussion for New Brunswick
I don't know what you mean when you say "administration", sorry. When you deal with abuse@ craigs list .org, it is all by email or using the contact form, which is a form you fill out etc. I think you have to just keep reporting them, requesting the removal and if it does not come down within that short time, then report again. If you have a phone# to call, try not to do it every time. But for the reports via email, if you find you have had to do it a dozen or more times, I think they will deal with the accounts themselves just to stop the reports and hassle of post removal. I think they obviously look at the post, look at whatever you yourself are posting in your name, at some point, but primarily they get the request, remove the post and that is the end of their involvement. what I would do, when you have their confirmation of post removals x 10 or so, contact them again, let them know how many they have removed and can they now take fursther action to block the account/IP responsible. I have some experience with this, and can say that at this time, the one mainly behind it has a REALLY hard time, in spite of her use of proxies, and whatever other means she has to create and use multiple new accounts, cannot keep an ad posted 95% of the time. However, she harrassed numerous other sps in my area, was reported online and by phone more than once, before she stopped. The karma, now even tho she has stopped (which probably has more to do with having to pay to get new accounts lol) is that time after time you check a recently posted ad by her and voila, flagged for removal almost as soon as posted. So, report report report. Ask friends to flag. Post on forums with your side of the story as pre damage control as i say, someone is bound to show up with a copy of these ads (usually a cohort or the one posting them in the first place; they get frustrated when you are able to get the posts removed quickly, and end up trying to act all "oh look what I found, don't know if it is true, but it might be, so watch out" kind of thread.
