Just try to remember this is a professional service, and not some horny chicks throwing up ads because they want to get some action. Well said. CL is simply an advertising site, just like any other. There are paid and unpaid sites out there, and the chances of good and bad experiences come equally. Before they used CL, the scammers used other venues including paying for ads which sounds unbelievable but true. Personally as someone who uses it, I plan to continue because no other site (or combination of sites and other venues) can compete with the traffic that we get as working sps from that site. No other site can offer someone testing out the business as an sp an opportunity to set herself up to get to that place where she has fancy ads and websites and pictures. And no other venue has the ability to find absolutely new to this clients who don't have a ton of expectations or concerns about setting up an appt and just having a good time. They don't flit from sp to sp, as do those on the other review boards. They become long term regular clients, are as respectful, courteous, wealthy, hygienic, as any one with more experinence in this hobby. They are as likely to be rude or not as anyone who finds us on sp advertising forums, and as likely to show or no show as well. Neither the clients nor the sps who use CL are the dregs of society, or less worthy or less reputable than the sps and clients of other sites. CL is not the place to go only when you want to find some cheap date with questionable services. It is extremely offensive to me and others I am sure to be lumped in with some broad brush strokes, sweeping everyone who uses it like something distasteful. we have experienced escorts who charge 350-400-500 per hour with extremely good reputations and very well reviewed use it regularly. If someone thinks they are too good for CL, or somehow thinks they are "better" than those who use it, or that the cliente is less worthy of their time, I wonder what they think of these ladies who place ads there? You really think someone who advertises a special at 400/hr daytime rate is going to have to deal with a lot of 80 buck offers lol? I think that I really really get offended by such statements as this not just because I and many sps I know and admire use it, but also that the clients who come from seeing my ads there a truly wonderful men. I feel distressed that anyone would consider that these guys are unworthy of their consideration, or less than human because they use CL. I feel sorry for anyone who is so narrow and judgmental about this topic, that they would prefer to view the advertisers as subpar or not capable of a professional attitude. Fact is many of the well reviewed and reputable ladies of cerb use CL. Diss CL and you diss us all, imo. Also, if you haven't used it, then perhaps sit back and listen to the advice and experiences of those of us who do. If after 3 years, neither grasshopper nor myself have abandoned using CL, there must be something to it, no?

This is perfect. I always ask for a phone call "when ready" regardless of when they first called, because if they do that we talk, we confirm, we are both on the same page, we can estimate the ETA, and if they are running early or late, or I am, we can deal with that. If you are ready to head out the door and haven't spoken at all, then show up and she is no where to be found, that is a terrible disappointment. Usually I will request a quick call 5 minutes away or on the final approach, because I assume they will either get stuck or not stuck in traffic, and I like to light candles at this time, and it allows me that couple of minutes so I don't feel like I am bustling about or sitting and waiting waiting waiting for 3pm sharp lol.

Fortunately, Tess, the majority if clients agree with you that the sp/client interaction is a positive win win experience that benefits both parties. I am often puzzled by the level of hostility and hatred some board members have for the very women who provide these sorts of services, and also wonder why that they think having such an antagonistic approach is going to get them great results. They must be very unhappy people, even after an appt!! Why are they even doing it if at the end of the day they are so miserable? Many review boards are created with good intentions: pass along information about sps who offer an exceptional session, and warn about ones who false advertise with too many surprises on arrival. Instead, they evolved into a bunch of bullies who try to threaten and intimidate with their status, from bullying for a discount under threat of a bad review to not doing their homework when seeing an sp then trashing her afterwards because she doesn't provide what they are looking for. Toss in a coule of ex-bfs doing the same trashing, along with the ones who wanted to be bfs but got rejected, AND the would be clients who are refused service altogether, and you have some venom waiting to be spit out in some sort of action of revenge. It's a lot like high school, or elementary school, and the bestest thing about that is that their impact (if you decide to leave school) is minimal on your business. It is possible to successfully discredit a brand new sp with no credibility, but simply impossible to do that to an established provider with a wealth of recommendations and a great repuation. Just aint happening. And the best revenge is living well, imo. For every one of that kind of idiot, there are a 1000 out there waiting to drop in and see you, and are going to be pretty damn happy about what you have to offer.

It may seem so at first, but when they are extreme or alternative, a guy who is really really not looking for that at all is going to be pissed she does not mention the nipple and clit piercings along with the full body art tattoo (including face) lol. A detailed listing would not be expected, but if you have more than a couple of small discretely located tattoos, it needs to be mentioned. Like anything else (including full disclosure of rates and services) it becomes part of what you mention in advertising, if it is not included in a pic. I know of a couple of sps with a lot of ink who show them in the picture. If you don't show them (for discretion purposes, many sps edit them out as identifying them) then normally it is mentioned on your advertising. Otherwise you are not giving the client a choice, and as I mention those who hate them hate them passionately and like undisclosed rates or unavailable advertised services will not respond well. Additional Comments: I have a regular I see a few times a year who always has a new piece being worked on. Last time I checked, only his back and upper legs are untouched. Very much a pussycat, for a guy riding a bike and part of an Ozzy type heavy metal band. :grin:

I think you are right. With so many young women automatically getting them, it becomes commonplace in sps. However, an sp who may think beyond the basic services and want to become more of an escort/courtesan, large tattoos or even small inappropriately placed ones will not work in your favour. In advertising pics, either way, it is a good idea to cover tats as they are identifiable if shown, just a bit of advice. And sps who have them should fully disclose that they have tattoos, because it is like many other things--Guys who care, will be upset if they are not mentioned, whereas guys who don't care won't mind.

Same here. My ads specifically state phone calls for details, no texts. Meaning if you want to reach me do not use email either. I check my emails only 2-3 times daily, because of this policy. If someone sends an email, my only reply is to tell them to call. So this AM around 9AM I check emails, as per usual morning, and see one sent at 8:45 from the night before, saying only "r u available?". Well, yes, actually, I was. But 12 hours later is when he finds out, which to me means that someone is not paying attention because how could anyone possibly get the email, reply to the email, await yet another response and conceive that an appt would be arranged for the same evening?? In any case, my advice is to pay attention to the entire ad, because within it somewhere is the best contact method. I can't imagine someone thinking anything but a phone call is a good way to arrange something within a few hours of the preferred time.

Not to prolong an argument, lol, but is she is indeed sharing her space (working with someone) and that space is not a 2 bedroom situation, then even less likely. Both sps need the same room, so it is just not possible. She could get 50 phone calls in a day, but if she had 12 appts in a day, I know from experience that at least half of those attempted phone calls would be unanswered. Also, eperience proves that not all calls = an appt. My main point is that whoever posted about her having 12 clients in one day on CL is lying and trying to make her look bad. It implies overtired, overused, and rushing thru appts, which is why it was done I suppose. Personally I think it would be awesome to have that many appts in one day (when normally it would take several days to see that many lol), but realistically I know it won't happen even in a 16 hour day as an indy who sets up her own appts, and deals one on one with clients and potential callers.

I think Jason is missing the point that indy sps do not answer their phones (or any other replies) during appts, so it is pretty much impossible to set up that many appts with same day calling. Most people do not leave messages, many do not have a couple of hours to wait between the time they would like and the time she would end up answering, and scheduling the next appt. 12 appts in a day is probably possible if booking thru an agency, and maybe this is how his agency sets up appts for the sps who work there, but indy sps without such assistance? Just not happening. Especially with a short review here in this thread showing that she does not rush her appts, and spends time with the client. (AND is not answering her phone or texting during doggie, etc lol) That is not someone who is rushing to set up the next one or to reply to messages etc. Even so, all this assumes all appts are incalls at her location.

Vancouver sells escort licenses, but not seriously, and no one gets fined for not having one. Plus, the GVA is pretty large, and all the neighbourhoods nearby are on a different municipality, and literally just across the street or over the bridge. No one enforces it at all. Their interest is primarily the asian massage parlours (have a business front, massage rooms, biz license etc), the micros (illegal workers working out of apartments), and the SWs (street workers). Everyone else goes at it. Edmonton is the other city that HEAVILY enforces the city escort licensing requirements. On a recent sting they collected over $90,000 in fines. They fined drivers and sps who showed up to a hotel for an outcall, because they work without licenses. This is their idea of stomping down on prostitution, lol, but in reality they are just keeping a level playing field for the ladies who do pay for licenses. The cost of a license there is high (2,000?) for an independent, but really low ($200) for anyone who works at a massage parlour. Victoria is another city to add to the list of licenses. A lot of sps get the city license (a few hundred dollars, I believe) and a lot work out of massage parlours and agencies as well. I have not ever once heard of any bylaw fines for unlicensed sps in Victoria, so I do not think they enforce the licensing. In one of those cities tho, an sp successfully took the fine to court and argued that she was a prostitute, going about the legal business of prostitution not an escort and therefore did not need an escort license. I believe she won. But the sp needs to want to go to court over it, Additional Comments: On topic, I recently read the term "leech" being applied to a guy who tries this carrot dangling approach. Needs to meet first, needs to have several phone calls, needs to go for lunch, wants to hang out, wants to hang shelves (or offer unsolicited financial advice), the list goes on, but we are talking about active board member sps with exceptional reviews, good ads and detailed website. If none of that is enough for a guy to make up his mind, then he is a leech (or looking for an sp SO). Neither possibility is attractive to ladies who are in the business of offering their company for a fee. secret admirer, please STOP referring to the sessions as "just paying for time" sort of thing or only book by phone. It is legal to discuss rates and services and to exchange $ for services in Canada. That time thing is a US affectation and could be a detriment to you spending time with some sps who do not know what you are up to lol. Be straight up, for heavens sake. No one is going to arrest you for asking how much is it for a half hour GFE appt.

The logistics of working independently, answering your own phones or emails, or texts, etc to set up 12 appts at all in a (say) 16 hour work day availability is ridiculous. (let's face it the other half of that is that you are only talking to serious callers looking to book same day appts, show up and do not cancel. Getting 12 people to do that in one day, for one person? That would be unusual) The only possible way to do this is someone else not only sets up the appts (taking all calls, taking the time to give out address, taking the time to make sure the appts are on time and arrive promptly without getting lost, making sure the majority of the appts are 15 minute duration lol, because even a 15 minute appt will take the sp a minimum of 30 minutes to accomplish, and make room for the next guy)..... Well, I think you can see why the post referred to was not very likely to have been posted by the sp but rather by either someone who has no clue about this biz (maybe a would be client who cannot get what he is looking for?) or an agency owner (who cannot get her to work for him?) or another sp (who is worried about the competition?)

New Zealand policies take into account reality, and i think that everyone is satisfied there with the results. sps can legally work from home, and share their space with one or two others. Larger groups work with business licenses, etc, where the site owner undergoes a criminal check. Everyone working with sps are regulated and must conduct themselves according to laws which benefit sps. And the street workers have rights to refuse service, and feel more confident in reporting incidents than before. What has not happened is an increase in Street workers, an increase in women and men entering the business, and an increase in riff raff in school zones coming to visit their neighbourhood escort parlour. Organized crime has no teeth because they don't have anything to offer the sps in terms of safer places to work etc. Many things make the NZ policies superior to whatever the government here might dream up on their own, but as you say the sex workers were actively involved with these new regulations.

- emails questions, but does not call as requested in my ads and in my email reply - are you clean and is it safe is usually met with me pointing out they are both useless questions, because no sp is going to say "No". - are you alone....why do you ask? - rate negotiations, etc. Discount for goodlooking, young, first time or suggesting they will be a regular as long as the 'service is good" at which time they expect to also get a discount as a regular. - calling at any time between 10pm and 7AM. This to me shows he is rude, disrespectful and considers sps to not be in need of basic consideration and common etiquette. And calling 3 times 5 mnutes apart at 4AM will seal the deal, that I will not see you even if you call me at a decent hour the next time. Basically, anyone who waits so late to find out if I am the sort of sp who works 24/7 or not is not someone I would feel safe with, because if they do not have the basic courtesy to find out earlier in the evening or day, I could not consider to see them at 3AM. Altho there is a slight chance a client at 3pm may be drunk or high, the chances are astronomically high they will be at 3AM. I also have little sympathy for the sps who choose to work these hours then complain about the quality of their callers and clients.

I think if you don't want blocked calls, just opting for that feature that sends these to a prerecorded message that says "the person you are calling does not accept block #s." Then gives the option to let the service unblock their # or hangup, press *67 and try again. This way your phone does not ring and the block call person knows this is why they don't get thru, etc. Seems like a win win lol. Annoying to me is when I want to call someone and they have this feature (especially stores!!??) Then I have to decide to unblock or not, and since my phone company won't alllow me the option to block just my name and show my number, my real name will show up unblocked, so not going to call back a client who called and left a message and has this feature on their phone lol. But yes, it really works lol

I notice you mention you are fairly new to this? Most sps don't realize that the first 6 months or so are often very busy, peaking then dropping and plateauing. Often they think big, based on those first months, and foresee the future being the same. About the only thing that will spike another peak is a new advertising venue. It is almost better to not do full out advertising all over when new, since the peak is already in place from whereever you advertise. Choose like 2 different places, and in 6 months add another one or two. The new advertising venues will spike it again with guys who do not use the first 2, and so on. You can also drop one, save the $$ if it is not getting results or if there are already a few regs come out of it, then go back to it later. I think that advertising venues, switching them up, changing ads now and then, etc can do more to increase the levels than most other things. Also, you have to watch where you are advertising. A lot of new to this guys come from non-review site advertising venues (CL, newspaper, etc) and they tend to stick with the first sp they have a good experience with. They don't flit around from one sp to the other because it isnt their hobby, they don't follow the forums, etc, and they (like grasshoppers tourist clients) are the good ones to hang onto. As far as 2nd visits go, the guys come back because they enjoyed the first visit. It is often enough to just maintain the same level of service in the second visit as the first, but with small adjustments since he knows what to expect. I tend to talk more in a first visit, to explain more. I assure them if they come back that it is quieter lol, but alot of times they appreciate the conversation to steady their own nerves. We neither of us need that as much on a second visit, and it flows in a different way. :smile: The other thing that works for me is having options. No one new needs to fork out 300 bucks to find out if what I'm like. I have non-fs option (half hour), fs options at 30-45-60 rates. They can book a massage, then request more once they are here, or just stick with massage and hj (or cbj) if they want. It is a lot less stressful for new to this or even new to me guys. They appreciate that they are not locked into one service, as with an sp who only has fs options or no choices. The massage is an attractive way to get started for someone who needs to relax as well before moving forward. It is all in how you present the options and choices. (re: your site; Am I missing age, stats, height etc? Interestingly, I am contacted because of my age (40+) first and foremost, and secondly I think is my height lol. I would think it would be a good piece of info in there, if not an exact age, an age range?)

I would go one step further -- don't think you are the exception to the rule that discretion is paramount, or that you are so special that this rule does not apply to you. I saw an sp exposed with enough info to link to her real name with her facebook page. This was not done by one of her fans, but yet another disgruntled wannabe client who actually has a bad reputation amongst the local sps (well deserved I might add), so these things can and will happen at any time. She for some reason used her sp pics in her FB profile, did not set the privacy levels at all, and now whoever wanted to knows her real name. Also, she uses face pics in sp ads and on the FB, along with real location, etc, and you do not have to be a friend to find her. She may be retired now, but the vindictive people are still out there after all. If an sp makes every effort to disguise her face and identity in her sp advertising, and someone comes across her real identity from another route, then I would consider it an act of slander and defamation and the actions of a complete sociopath to post the link anywhere, to tell anyone else, or to do anything other than discretely send her a message detailing how he stumbled across the info and suggest ways for her to set up privacy settings that will help prevent that from happening to anyone else.

This is so true. I never understand why anyone on either side wants to keep so much distance between someone you plan to be spending time with on an intimate one on one level. At least speaking on the phone is interactive, and feeds off of each other. Both are in the same place at the same time, not somewhere else reading then replying and a hour or two later, the reply receives a reply. If you cannot manage a phone conversation I think you miss out in many ways. If someone calls me, I am assuming they are calling at a time when it is ok for them to talk. I would not assume as someone mentioned they don't call because they are not always in a private place. Then why would you consider to call at all lol? I think that if you use a phone# and you sharing the # with other aspects of your life, then you need to look into getting a smart ring # (one that will ring with a different ring and is using a different phone #), so that you do not answer it when it is not convenient. Or a second line, as mentioned. To not use the phone is very limiting, and misses out on so much of the social component in setting up appts, clealry answering questions so there is no doubt about rates and services, helping to eliminate misunderstandings and as a form of advertising. I can't tell you how many people decide to come to visit me simply because I took the time to talk to them on the phone, regardless of whether my rates, services, and appearance were exactly what they were looking for at the start. :-D

I do answer blocked #s, because after several years doing this I know for a fact that the likelihood of a block # being a waste of time (or dangerous) is not any different at all from that of an unblocked #. And as mentioned a lot of the time, the guys (especially older guys) do not know the # is blocked. A lot of companies for some reason have blocked #s when an employee calls out, and some places disable the unblock feature. I have had calls from guys in hotels that show up blocked as well, oddly enough. What I don't tolerate are computer calls. Can't stand them, tell them to hang up and call froma real phone. Don't believe them if they claim that is the only phone they have lol. Also don't believe them if they are calling from a hotel and still want to use the computer phone. I do mention to the caller their # is blocked and for that reason there are more "hoops" for them, such as they don't get an address until they are at a particular area, they should show up within a certain time, or the next block # that sets up an appt may be the one I give the address to lol, and that they cannot arrange a time after 10pm (simply dont want to wait around should this be one of those who don't show up -- if their # shows and they no show, at least I know who it is if they call again) I really don't provide them much time to not show up anyway, since they have to confirm within half hour of appt time. The most annoying is when you are busy, cannot answer, and a block # guy calls 5-6 times and still won't leave a message. Especially since my phone service will give me their ph #, blocked or not, if they at least stay on the line long enough to hang up lol.

Pretty sure it is a city bylaw referring to massage spas specifically, so they have to comply or risk problems if there is an impromptu inspection. i remember reading about it last year some time. It does seem like Winnipeg is a touch town to work in, and there are times I think when they try to sting perfectly legal activity like setting up hotel room stings for outcalls. Not sure what they are trying to get away with there, unless they license escorts? Possibly, it is to just discourage any working sps by booking their time, giving a lecture, and sending them home without compensation. I have a rant about Winnipeg lol, that is that Winnipeg seems to misunderstand that prostitution itself is legal, and they try to intimidate or trick sps into doing something illegal, or try to intimidate someone who is working legally by threatening them with charges or problems.

I think if you say anything other than Massage in the job title, you will be asked to explain more about the services you provided if you choose to say "Personal assistant" or "Personal consultant". Also if you are asked about the details of the business, it will be easier to describe when you know the interviewer, for example, has an image of massage table and clinic in their heads. Since you are describing yourself as self employed and running your own business, if you can also describe that you are a mobile massuese (goes to visit your clients) or work from home. Because massage is more casual than being a consultant, which implies more of an office setting, it would be more closer to reality and easier to envision on their part that working from home makes sense to them.

Yes, in Vancouver anyway as an Agency the applicant applies for a city license. I think you will need an office location as part of the application, and for an escort agency I think there would be no possibility of that location being available as an incall, but the escorts get sent out on dates and can hang out there for calls, at least in vancouver. These are separate categories in BC and AB, because the cities there Love to charge 10x as much as any other business license. It seems like Ottawa does not distinguish and so does not pimp itself out like the other cities. :rolleyes:
