I have extended my offer for sharing pointers to the organizers Penelope and Taloon. Like I said to them, it's not rocket science, but there is a lot of factors to consider when bringing a group of people together like this and I have already given them an idea of what they're in for. But the end result will be worth it. You never know - if there is a way, I will be there.

I have already heard the words "road trip" being uttered by some local cerbites. So just never know who might show up (including yours truly) depending on when it is.

I have co-hosted five cerb socials in Ottawa and would pleased to share my experience with you as it was trial and error as we went along. It's certainly not rocket science, but there are a lot of factors to bear in mind especially when you have folks gathering in one place from different geographical areas. It's a lot of work and hours of preparation but well worth it with the right company.

I try to put myself in the other person's shoes, and since a client is paying us the big bucks, I would like to give them an idea of what they are getting. My pics are "what you see is what you get" (although I did slim down a bit recently) without showing my face or showing too much nudity. However, when I advertise in print media where there are no pics and I have to describe myself on the phone, rarely have I been refused (it has happened twice at my incall in 6 years and the last time as an outcall was back in the 90s when I worked for an agency. For online site like CERB, I post pictures as well as a link to my website with more pictures. I believe I have enough pictures from different angle which is why I refuse requests such as "do you have any more pics". Fortunate One made a good point about picture collectors. I guess I don't understand the logic in not posting pictures of your body, but willingly doing so of your face (usually it's the other way around). I don't think you can really blame the guys for asking to see a pic and I know for some (not all) that would be the deal breaker. However if you were to consider posting a pic, perhaps one full body shot wearing something seductive but not too revealing would be suffice. I think a woman always looks more sexy with some clothing on and to ask to see more "flesh" is just plain rude. I guess bottom line is do what you feel comfortable with.

It's pretty simple for me. When someone emails or texts me claiming to be a certain cerb member, I ask them to drop me a pm to verify it's them. If they don't want to, then I know something's up. An example that comes to mind for me was when I hosted the Christmas social, all communication was done via the pm system, not by email. Cerb members had to pm me to verify who they were and only those who paid (gents) or were invited guests (ladies) were given the location. The evening of the party, I had people texting me last minute to ask if there was any spots left to attend, insisting they were so and so from CERB. Unfortunately I had to remind them they had over 2 months to pm me and since I had no way of verifying who they were last minute, I could not allow them to come. End of story.

I can't see the police being interested in names and numbers unless guys were looking for underaged girls. Yawn....

The truth according to who? Sometimes the truth is subjective. Example you don't like their cooking, but others do. It would be difficult not to be mean or rude if we all went around telling the "truth" for every little thing as we see it. I'm not suggesting you have to sugar coat everything, but some things are better left unsaid. "Discretion is the better part of valour". As for the last two examples you gave, medicine is not an exact science, and I believe health professionals aim to tell the person and loved ones as accurate a picture that they can foresee for their patients. I am sure at the time both the vet and doctor did think they'd be okay. I have had a cousin who developed brain cancer and her doctor told her she had about a year to live. She actually hung on longer than that, but there was no sugar coating in this case.
