  1. The name of the initiative is You Can Play: http://youcanplayproject.org/ Right to Play is a great charity in its own light. It's mission is "to improve the lives of children in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the world by using the power of sport and play for development, health and peace". http://www.righttoplay.com/International/Pages/Home.aspx There are NHL players involved with Right to Play as well. I've donated to RtP for years.
  2. Here's to another five years of wit, advice and insight!
  3. Does acupuncture count? Had some on my back this spring and it really helped.
  4. Try the other Kings, Albert and Freddie. Both electric blues, both great players. For someone a bit newer (and someone who plays slide), how about Derek Trucks?
  5. Playing with the definition of marriage? Limiting foreign ownership of resource companies? With a mix of social conservatism and protectionism, it sounds like the curmudgeons are exerting their influence. Should be a hot time in O-town during the convention... "Myrtle, let's eat a sensible meal, walk around denouncing everything we see as corrupt or brimming with moral turpitude, and then go to bed at 8." :) If there's a bright side to this announcement, it's that this is only a convention to steer policy; better to have the party's intentions regarding prostitution laws in the open so opposition can begin rather than being stung with a surprise. Sunlight is the best disinfectant...
  6. Name-brand whey protein powders will fit the bill. Look (or ask) for whey isolate; it is a purer protein with lower lactose levels than whey concentrates. A purer protein is available to the body more quickly, handy after workouts. Lower lactose means less of a bloated feeling after consumption, if you have issues with whey. Of course, isolates will be slightly more expensive than whey concentrates which are also available. I like Ergogenics' New Zealand Whey. Allmax, Optimum Nutrition (ON), Dymatize are also popular.
  7. Zombie apocalypse would be interesting; my bug out bag is always packed, just in case. Really, I'm just looking forward to enjoying shorter lineups at Starbucks.
  8. Elmore Leonard's books are great fun! Not all of them translate well to the silver screen, but I think Quentin Tarantino did a good job with Rum Punch/Jackie Brown.
  9. No love for Daniel Craig? I think he's doing a great job. But yes, the first actor that comes to mind when someone says "Bond. James Bond" is Connery.
  10. Throughout the 25 years, I have won one donut. Do not stand next to me during a thunderstorm.
  11. At Sunday morning hockey practices we discussed the previous night's game on HNIC and more importantly, the offering on Bleu Nuit. The French-speaking guys would always go on about how tame the movies were...
  12. Dog, you've got great taste in books! Lamb was incredible; read it on a suggestion, and have started passing it on too. Read all the Inspector Rebuses last year. The gradual introduction of technology (PCs, crime scene techs, cell phones) was fun to notice. Rebus is a well-written character, terribly flawed but immensely likeable for his tenacity.
  13. The refrigerator. It is running. I must go catch it. :)
  14. Well, there's spam egg sausage and spam, that's not got much spam in it.
  15. This is a great description, and a very good place to start. If you're emphasizing your natural curves, what about curvy or shapely? Not much help, but for the most accurate description of you I'd go with simply gorgeous ;)
  16. I read that Dallas/Fort Worth clubs were looking for more strippers: short article here
  17. This has always been a hard one to explain to someone else, as it's an attraction that I'm pretty sure I was born with or else developed very early in life. It's one of those cases where I don't know *why* I like them, but I definitely know what it is that I like. For me, it's proportional size to the lady's height, medium to small toes, soft skin, a good arch, and polished nails. I'll never understand it, but it can be very useful!
  18. Ah, but the results make *our* heads fuzzy for completely different reasons! :)
  19. 1989, back when "Cabaret Le Pink" was still the Pink Panther. Don't remember too much, except that it was quiet that night, so a pack of 17 year olds stuck out like a sore thumb. The attention was nice; the shock of the price of beer was not.
