I am probably late to this thread. If I don't know her real name when I am writing a PM or something, I usually say 'Hi [user name].' I figure that's the safest alternative. It's not a cop out (I don't think) because at least I'm calling her something that she has more or less asked to be called. As for me having a name, I'm usually better with her not using my name. There are a few things that bother me. "Your" is a possessive. The sentence "Your a sexy girl" is not English. The proper sentence is "You're a sexy girl." "It's" is a contraction of "it is" or "it has" or something similar. As such, the sentence "The lamp showered the room with it's light" is not English. The correct sentence is "The lamp showered the room with its light." People, English is not that difficult. Get it right, dumbasses. That is all.
