Anyone who's ever been in high school already knows about this lol. Members of both sexes who are attractive get special treatment. People talk about beautiful women getting special treatment, but if Brad Pitt were to walk into a singles bar, how long do you think he'd be drinking alone? It's been this way since the beginning of time and probably will until the end of it (Rapture jokes anyone?). But as far as hobbying goes, I have always preferred the company of ladies who treat me with respect. I have shared time with some very attractive women but who were seemingly bored with my presence and uninterested me, so I never even considered seeing them again. I can only imagine these women being an SP for brief periods due to their poor behaviour. To paraphrase the movie, beautiful women are common, but the beautiful woman who treats you well is worth keeping. Fortunately, I've had the privilege of meeting some through CERB.

It's always nice, having the opportunity to say good bye to someone you've grown close to. -
As brilliant as Newton was, from what I have read, he was a bit of a nut with some elements of paranoia. And from I also understand is that his calculations were also made from the Bible, one of the most edited, revised, rewritten and even plagiarised documents ever. Much of what we know about the Bible's origins today Newton was ignorant of. I'm sure our current knowledge would have had a bearing on his "calculations." But I'm sure he'd agree that you'll be a knockout 80 year old!

While everyone's concern is justified and we should always be prepared to safeguard our liberties and freedoms (all of them, not just the sex industry), we need not fear the Conservatives on this file just yet. They ran on and were elected because of their economic platform and Canada is a fairly, socially liberal country. Make no mistake, if the Conservatives do get around to this, it won't be for another two years or so, close enough to the next federal election and they'll be watching the polls like hawks. Like it or not, their election was not a moral carte blanche, but intstead an approval of their economic policies. And they have already said they have no intention of re-opening the debate on abortion, so for the time being, it appears that they are not prepared to wade into any moral issues. And while I am not a card carrying member of any party and nor could I be described as living on either the Left or Right of the political spectrum, I am growing weary of hearing people denounce the results of the election based on the popular vote. Harper and the Conservatives benefitted from vote splitting on the left, allowing them to form a majority with less than half the popular vote. Yet I would wager that many of the people that are decrying this as an affront to democracy were not displeased when Jean Chretien's Liberals were elected to three concescutive majorities in the 90's by exploiting vote splitting on the right. People who claim to be opposed to our electoral system should be so based on principle, not because their favorite party didn't win. Somehow I doubt that's the case with the majority of people. A double standard is still a double standard, no matter who wins.

All kiding aside, I am very interested in hearing this "prophet's" explanation why the rapture failed. When some questioned his failed prediction in 1994, he said he made a mathmatical error but it was a sure thing this time. I wonder, is an 89 year old flexible enough to pry his foot from his mouth?

I'm sure there are plenty of people who are happy with your decision. Congrats. Stay Happy, Healthy and Safe. -
We don't really need the rapture for a zombie apocalypse-we have one every year. It's called Christmas shopping.

I just don't get it!

Why is it no one notices what I do until I don't do it? Why is telling someone to break a leg wishing them good luck? Why does the cab driver HAVE to slow down before EVERY light in hopes that it may turn red so the meter can climb? Why do some people think that telling their doctors to prescribe them stuff they saw advertisied on TV doesn't make said doctor their new dealer? Why does the dentist wonder why I'm bleeding as they're digging at my gums with a sharp metal hook? Why do the people who have no reason to call always bother you when you're available but the important calls always come when you're headed out the door to work? -
Happy Birthday! Hope you enjoy.

True enough. It's unfortuante that the liars and murderers who cloak themselves in their faith get so much attention, and the fact is it isn't the fault of the actual religion itself but rather or those who choose to pervert it to serve their own ends or justify their means. -
Was he using a smart phone or an Apple product of some kind? Two possibilities-have a rule that all cell phones and other tech capable of recording is presented up front and kept aside in a shoe box or something. And all clothes are neatly folded and not bunched up. Coats go in the closet and the door closed. At the very least, you can reduce the opportunity for this kind of surveillance. But it's still rotten it happened to you.

Wow. Sorry to hear about that. I can't imagine a higher violation of trust. I hope you kicked his ass a little bit for it. Understanding he may be a regular of yours, this little stunt of his definitely reveals a dark and unescapable aspect of his character.

Considering this is a provincial election year in Ontario as well, this could be a nice little issue. They did say that the feds passed the buck to the provinces, correct? maybe a few well placed letters to some MPPs or candidates might shed some light on this. Especially given the obscene gas prices right now.

When a Pet Dies

Growing up in the country helps you get a thick skin to the loss of cheriched animal friends, but even as an adult, I find it still stings deeply when you lose a friend who personified innocence and offered unconditional love. -

I have to admit, Jupiter the Cat has kind of grown on me. -
The separtist movement will probably always exist. Currently, it exists on the fringe. The majority of Quebecers prefer to remain in Canada, that much is evident from the recent election where they pushed the Bloc to the brink of destruction. Quebec will always want a strong voice in Parliament, mind you (which they have now in the NDP), and the threat of seperatism may rear its ugly head in the future as leverage, but that's all it would be. For all the talk within some circles of "oppression" of Quebec, there has never been an armed uprising, including the days following the English victory in 1763, when it was most likely to succeed. Outside of the actions of a few criminals in the 1970's (which disgusted virtually all Quebecers as well), the population of Quebec has remained more than happy enough to call Canada home.

If Quebec were to seperate, it would only be because the majority of Quebecers vote to seperate in a provincial referendum. In each referendum, Quebecers have elected to remain a part of Canada, despite evidence in 1995 that the organizers of that referendum were breaking rules to try and ensure theeir victory. If they had won, that victory would have been tainted by the illegal behavour of the victors. The simple fact of the matter is, most Quebecois are content to remain in Canada. The recent federal election proved that with the rejection of the Bloc. There have been some nasty exchanges between French and English over the years but Quebec has been given extra leverage as well as provincial powers so political bias no longer exists. The fact of the mater is, if Quebec were to seperate we would have to negotiate what sort of relationship a soverign Quebec would have with the rest of Canada. And no matter how that relationship is defined, everyone in Canada would feel a distinct economic impact. And for the most part, it likely wouldn't be a very good one.

This was a pure delight. I'm actually subscribing to this channel now. Thanks! -
Putting all the politics and economics aside, my Canada has and always will include Quebec. Just as young men and boys from every province and different heritages, speaking different languages, stood side by side on distant battlefields in the defence of freedom, I firmly believe that Canada can only face the challenges and dangers the future offers by having all of her Provincial and Territorial powers standing together. While I will always acknowledge Canada's flaws and many imperfections, I love this country and will always consider Seperatism an inherent enemy to it, a dangerous and misguided political force that is just as dangerous to those it claims to help as anyone else. Fortunately, the people of Quebec have always had the wisdom to reject it, even when pro seperatist forces have blatantly cheated. Too often Canada seems to be a bunch of squabbling siblings, arguing stubbornly, but we are still, and always will be, family, even though we sometimes don't like each other.
