  1. If you really want to see intolerance of other viewpoints; check out the hockey boards just about every day. Woof!
  2. It might also be interesting to see some of the political beliefs held by some of these parishioners-just to see if they truly do embrace the live and let live philosophy.
  3. And hopefully, this portrayal is the first of a series of non bias ones and will help balance out the sensationalism in the mainstream media.
  4. Stuff that sparked my imagination that also usually had other media tie ins. Star Wars figures and toys, Transformers, G.I. Joe; I was addicted to that stuff and really wish I had kept them. A lot of it is worth some serious coin these days.
  5. They had better have a pretty solid plan B becuase if this "argument" is there best shot, they are going to get killed. A first year law student could poke more holes in this than a pound of swiaa cheese in about twnety minutes.
  6. The government's new legal argument is that striking down the laws based on their failure to allow women full legal protection is irrelelvant because women choose this lifestyle, dangers and all. The government seems to have forgotten that is obligated to protect all citizens, no matter that it thinks of their chosen profession. If this is the argument the governement chooses to make, we need only ask how many tax dollars Ontario pays to protect Paul Bernardo from the violence of other inmates. And while the hockey analogy still applies, I doubt many hockey players sign up for the chance to have their faces rammed into steel truncheons. I wonder what PM Harper would have to say to that, being a confessed hockey fan and all?
  7. Sorry I'm a few days late but Happy Birthday!
  8. If your up to it . . . . . . .if you have any friends with dogs who are looking to get away one weekend, offer to puppysit. hat way your room mate will understand what it's like to live with a dog as well. It might teach him some appreciation.
  9. A fairly presented article. It will be interesting to see how the government reacts (squirms) when confronted with double standards their arguement raises. I especially liked the comment about Harper needing a security detail, and that he too chose a profession fraught with danger and risk (therefore requiring said security).
  10. I'm actually kind of surprised people of such limited intelligence can work a keyboard to send you any e-mails at all. Ladies, next time anyone sends you a stupid e-mail, respond by sending them a math question; it'll probably clog their brains for months.
  11. In our culture, violence has always been seen as more acceptable than sex. Filmakers often complain that sexual content in their productions earn the dreaded NC-17 rating far easier than gratuitous and often ridiculous violence. It stands to reason that those who belong to a culture that worships violence but demonizes sex would react with (justifiable) outrage to an injury suffered by a professional athlete in a fast, often violent sport, while they neglect those whose safety is threatened because they make their living from sex. We could argue all day why our collective moral compasses are so messed up, but that's the way it is. And the second part of the problem is that people are very slow and reluctant to educate themselves on any issue, let alone a culturally taboo one like sex (which everyone wants and experiences at some point in their life). If it can be argued that our cultural bias against sex is rooted in religous values, that would also explain why common ignorance is also a problem (institutionalized, mainstream religion depends on ignorance for it's inlfuence). But all that aside, I'd like to wish Pac's a swift and speedy recovery.
  12. I had the pleasure of sharing some time with Jessica a few days ago. She is beautiful and the Nuru massage she offers defies words. Treat her with courtesy, dignity and respect. She deserves it.
  13. On behalf of the guys, Happy Women's Day Ladies.
  14. Exactly. When "men" choose to treat women like objects in a flea market, they're portraying their true natures and choosing to disrespect the woman in question. And as has been mentioned previously, it isn't as though the ladies have to worry the people who converse on this forum so I have an idea for the fine women of CERB. Keep an air horn by the phone and the next time someone's dumb or crass enough to try and haggle for you? Well, I think you get the picture. Or put them on hold and subject them to Miley Cyrus music.
  15. No lady should ever have to negotiate her donation. Requesting it is nothing short of disrespecting the lady. The donation is, after all, for her time and her time is something she can't get back. If a lady chooses to offer time in certain amounts, like 15 minutes or so, then perhaps whatever service someone was looking for may be available then, but to harass a lady who offers an hour for a mere 15 minutes is insulting. If a lady doesn't offer that amount of time, another very likely does and would be willing to entertain that.
  16. Nice little vid. I've always thought that if there is an afterlife, it would probably be what you want it to be. Although I've always liked the joke about the 72 virgins who presumably await suicide bombers in the afterlife. After they blow themselves up and enter the hallowed gates of their "heaven," they are indeed greeted by 72 virgins; 72 pimply face comic book nerds. I like the idea that the universe may have a nasty sense of humour. How else do you explain boy bands?
  17. I have to vote for Daniel Craig as well. He embodied the efficient agent who could occasionally show compassion that I always thought Bond would be. his movies were more about the man than the camp.
  18. The truly sad thing is that he probably got the mustard gas from one of his western "allies." Given this and the remaining situations unfolding in the Middle East and North Africa, I hope it is enough to give the West long pause about it's policies of supporting tyrants and butchers in the name of "stability" and "economics." Remember, as evil as he was, for decades Saddam Hussein was considered an American ally. Don't think for a second that the West was ignorant of his atrocities.
  19. I wonder what whoever thought this belonged with videos of kittens attacking watermelons and wrestling each other on top of comfy chairs was thinking when he inserted it into this menu. I got a bigger kick out of the cats than the drunk (but he amusing in his own clumsy little way).
  20. Calling a business and, once they've answered the phone, asking "Are you open?"
  21. If this video's legit, I think the real question is what was he doing in that state at 10:28 in the morning? I did have fun watching about a hundred cute kitten videos that were somehow realted or suggested by this one though.
  22. I am neither friend to nor fan of politicans, but in a society like ours, your best bet is to consider the trade off. Yep, lots of taxes, but you can see your doctor witout having to provide proof of insurance and there's a dcent security net to catch you in case you fall. And while I would NEVER claim our system is perfect (it is far from), for everyone who complains about living in Canada (freedom of speech) there's a thousand who wished they did.
