  1. . . . .the Toronto Maple Leafs, Fox News, American Idol, Justin Bieber, Donald Trump's "hair," the Kardashians. . . (sorry, couldn't resist).
  2. All the absolute best Sara. Go grab the world and kick its ass.
  3. I have had the privilege of meeting some excelent people here, and while I can't say it's always been perfect, it is one of the best communities or organizations I've had the pleasure of being a part of.
  4. Like the man once said, when the power of love becomes stronger than the love of power . . . . Jimi Hendrix, I believe.
  5. More understanding. So many problems are the result of people going with their knee jerk reactions, leaping to unjusitifed conclusions and neglecting to consider the other side of the argument or issue. If every one stopped, took a breath and took a moment to calmly think things through, we'd a ll be much better off.
  6. Is there anything more impossible than trying to compile a list of the twenty most desirable women on the planet? Maybe peace in the Middle East. Or getting Glen Beck to make anything resembling sense. These lists always make me laugh. Do they know women on the planet? And I'd wager that maybe as many of these women often behave like spoiled children, which is definitely not a desirable trait. These women are all very attractive, no doubt, and some are very talented and intelligent individuals, but I'm pretty the most "desirable" women didn't make this list.
  7. Interesting. Hadn't heard of it until now. I think some additional research on my part is in order. Any known negative side effects yet?
  8. I think this discussion shares a lot in common with the controversey over the Dire Straits song a few weeks ago. "Faggot" was deemed offensive in the context in which it was used, while the songwriter always intended it to reflect the narrow, biggoted perspective of the character the song was about. I read an article in the Citizen the following day where a sociologist said we couldn't compare it to the way words like b**ch and some ethnic slurs were commonly used in rap and hip hop becuase of the acceptable context in which those words were suppossedly used (which is why "faggot" was used in the first place). And I think that's what it boils down to; context. I think that's why soccer players use the C word against other men; it denotes feminity and therefore weakness. I guess it depends on how you use it. I for one don't because I lean towards the argument that it is offensive, so I wouldn't even use it in a conversation with someone who doesn't.
  9. Hopefully everything works out for you. Best of Luck!
  10. Good idea. I'm in (I can always use the advice at this time of year).
  11. Roaming Guy is right, Canada isn't perfect and I'll never pretend that life here can be easy. It can be hard and challenging and unfair but when you stop and look at most of the rest of the world, many of the people born here have won the lottery.
  12. The media has made a lot of the potential for any possible power vacuum to be filled with extremists, especially when they disect the American perspective (who have supported the current regime for 30 years). It sells papers and gets ratings regardless of its factual accuracy. Either way, I think we all agree that the violence and the bloodshed results in something positive for everyone. Otherwise it was all wasted.
  13. I'll never understand why some guys think that they have some sort of superpowered charm that works through chat rooms or e-mails that allows them to convince a lady to offer a service or change a rate. Like the lady in question is just waiting for the first guy to come along and ask. Puh-lease. You know you can poke people on Facebook? I think there should be an option in chat where the lady can chat-kick someone in the junk.
  14. I calculate that my chances are not as good as Brad Pitt's.
  15. We can only hope that the loss and the tragedy is not in vain and some constructive, tangible progress and improvement results.
  16. Her courage should be inspirational. But, she was talking to politicians, who see little more beyond poll numbers and campaign donations. And the distressing part, is, in the final few frames, how many empty seats were there? She demonstrated wisdom beyond her years, something politicans know little about.
  17. Being an SP is an important part of the story. It was how their story began and how she was able to manipulate him. She likely wouldn't have been in that position if she'd been a waitress (just as he wouldn't have been as vulnerable if he hadn't been disabled). It's truly tragic for him, that after a life of reckless suffering he thought he finally found someone to be happy with and it turned out she was a vulture, preying on his need and lonliness and weakness for her own gain. We've all had those moments where we were so lonely and dark that we would have done just about anything to add a little light. For this poor soul that was his entire life.
  18. From my limited experience, perhaps trying to get a literary agent to protect your interests might be a good idea. My understanding is that a lot of unsolicited stuff goes unread and destroyed. An agent can represent you for free (based on potential) and get you a fair shot.
  19. Just thinking out loud; aren't there more pressing matters for the Pope to be addressing than people who name their babies after fruit? Like, paying their defence lawyers? Just a question.
  20. Y'know, if we had a Prime Minister with a wife like this, I'd be tempted to vote for him just so I could keep reading about her. Better yet, let her be PM!
  21. If someone is serious about enjoying time with a lady (particularly from a reliable place like CERB), they should have no problem providing the lady with information like that. And most ladies would offer the logic behind the request if asked. It's as simple as that. If a lady asks for your pone number as a condition of her company, she should get it, no differently than a reference from another lady. Anyone who doesn't want to provide it is free to say no thanks and maybe look for a lady who doesn't request one. If the women here are willing to trust men they may know very little about with their time and address for intimate company, it is very little to ask.
