What may become of all the R&B and Urban music stations? Those songs not only use racial and ethnic terms, but also use the word "bitxh" in just about every other sentence. I'm not judging the content, but why has there not yet been a complaint about that particular term and it's usage on the radio? And if there has been (as I'm sure there must have been), has the CRTC chosen to ignore it? If so, why? Maybe someone should ask them . . .

Congratulations to Big Al!
Lowdark replied to Soleil Sublime's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
That's excellent news! Congradulations Big Al! Kick some ass (including the Health Board's). And while your waiting for the Health Board's decision, maybe let some of the local media know. Few things grease the wheels of the political process more favourable than media attention. All the best in your new career. -
What is putting out your fire today?
Lowdark replied to Loralee Reach's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I don't blame you for not being to shrug something like that off, Loralee. It's one thing to dismiss the selfish rudeness and greed of some cynic, but not quite as easy to shake off watching someone who sounds like the definition of ignorant and useless almost hurt someone whose innocent and defenseless. People like that drift through their lives looking for confrontation, bouncing from one shouting match to the next. Imagine how he treats the person at the coffee shop? Or the fast food place? Imagine how he must treat his own family. Not the kind of person that will be missed too terribly when his time comes (maybe at the hands of someone equally useless). One thing I have learned though, when confronted with people like that face to face, use big words and they'll get confused and usually stop talking. -
CBC News: Massage parlours in private condos a problem
Lowdark replied to qwertyaccount's topic in In the news
There wasn't much from the landlord of the building (such as, has he tried to address the complaints? What was the response? Was there any action currently being taken?). And as others have noticed, there were only a few quotes from the police. I would expect there to be more input from the people whose responsibility it is to enforce the law. And did the writer knock on the door in question? If so, what did they notice? And if they were asked to leave or snubbed, well that would have been an interesting addition to the story. And wouldn't it have been in the name of solid journalism to actually highlight the parts of the specific legislation that would pertain to this case? Instead, the whole article seems to be centred on the unproven assumptions of some (justifiably) upset neighbours and a few vague quotes. This story may be true and it's something I hope could be addressed to everyone's satisfaction if it is, but the actual story gives me pause. And so does the feeling that we've been seeing more of this in the media, all with a specific bias, since Canada's prostitution laws were labelled unconstitutional. Maybe it's just me. -
I agree with you 100%. Bailing with no call or explanation is disrespectful and rude. What I think too many men fail to realize is that this is a business and behaviour like this affects you severely. It would be the same as if they went to work one morning and their boss told them at the door "We don't need you today, go home and come back tomorrow, we might have need of your services then. Oh, by the way, we'll be reducing your pay accordingly, so you'll get paid when we need you." It's too bad the ladies can't charge a deposit beforehand so if they do no show, you have some recompense. Not only that, but they're more likely to show up if they've already committed financially. I guess the only thing you can do is remember their number and avoid them altogether the next time.

I have a question
Lowdark replied to Loralee Reach's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Pistol Pete beat me to it. Whenever I have met someone from CERB, it's usually consisted of several days to a week's worth of PMs or emails in advance. I know that most ladies are not fond of day of contacts for justifiable reasons. And I have never contacted a lady and then cancelled, let alone without any sort of contact to confirm. That's an insult to them and a waste of their valuable time. The only thing I can think of is to let the men in question know that you have limited time and it will be enjoyed by the one who confirms first. But as a possible aside, men who show you the courtesy of responding to you to confirm one way or another may get special consideration. Or the ones who simply leave you hanging may get 'black balled." -
I had the opportunity to visit Amanda and it was a privilege. After nearly a week of exhcanging PMs I were able to arrange a meeting with this gracious and beautiful woman. Intelligent and an engaging conversationalist, she is the definition of erotic. She isn't afraid to guide you through the session for mutual satisfaction or for what she wants. Attend her needs and show her the respect she deserves and you'll be very happy in return. Treat her right.

Our juniors have nothing to be ashamed of. This is a team that wasn't even suppossed to medal this year, while the Russians were highly favoured coming in. What a lot of people fail to realize is that many of Canada's best junior aged players are making the jump to the NHL the year after they're drafted. And since Russia doesn't have a transfer agreement with the NHL, teams are staying away from a lot of their best junior aged players, meaning Russia's available talent pool is actually getting bigger for this tournament. This is a group of teenagers and they did better than thousands of ther players their age could. Thiy're probably heartbroken today but they should hold their heads high and be proud. And Canada should be proud of them. Many of them have bright NHL futures ahead of them and some just may represent us in future Olympic tournaments. Y'know, the elite level competition we won last year.

Unsure....getting caught???
Lowdark replied to Kenny Micheals's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
To my knowledge, the MAs who offer incalls on CERB have never encountered any difficulty. I believe many of them offer outcalls to reputable clients as well. MAs are probably a far safer bet than parlours as they are more visible and I'd wager that in many they have a nasty turnover (possibly leading to disgruntled former employees?). Do some research on the ones who advertise on CERB and I'm sure you'll find a beautiful, graceful lady who offers everything that your looking for. -
MOD is completely right when he says these kinds of operations will be used against the legitimate sex trade by the government in the ensuing legal challenges. What the proponents of legalization need to do is begin a campaign to educate people about these kinds of things and that not only do they fail to represent the sex trade in Canada, but are looked down upon legitimate sex workers. Think of the health care debate in the U.S. Once Obama was elected the Republicans immediately embarked on a smear campaign of misinformation against health care reform before the administration could table anything (think Death Panels). The same will happen here and the legitimate sex trade needs to be prepared to counter the stereotypes and misingormation.

Thoughts on Our Hobby
Lowdark replied to crunchyfrog's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I have to agree about the multiple partners. Multiple mating is still a primary biological urge, but evolution has given us minds that not only allow us to reason and analyze, but also rise above our base, primal natures. I'm not judging anyone who has multiple, knowing consenting partners, but monogamy is possible given our minds, the thing that raises us above animals. After all, we have all felt the urge (sometimes need) to lash out in anger, yet we rise above that impulse. Those who don't get to enjoy prison. But I totally agree about needing a whole village to raise a child. the best way. -
Movies to look forward to in 2011

Being a geek myself, I've been absolutely mesmerized by the trailers for Zack Snyder's Suckerpunch coming out this March. It's like every geek's fantasy rolled into one. -
Saved by WrinkedinTime! I hope the message of the songs is conveyed though. Sometimes it's worth it to hold onto that dream forever. It's part of my personal philosophy and the thing is about dreams, what do you do when you catch them? I can't claim to know the source of Alexiss' post, but just maybe your dream is a touch out of reason right now for a reason. But that's no reason to think you won't catch it. Again, I hope everything works out for you.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4x27RgBysc&feature=recentlik Additional Comments: The link doesn't seem to work but it was a youtube video for a new rock song that I though may offer some perspective (Die Trying by a group called Art of Dying). There's one very telling lyric about preferring to fail and knowing then dying without having tried. Hope everything is good.

My first wish ... What's yours?

I believe Ghandi said it best; "Be the change you wish to see in the world." -
New Year's resolutions are lucky if they last until Valentine's Day, but here are a few rules I'll have in mind this year. Live well and true. Play nice with others and live every moment with friend and family like it's the last (it could be). Stand up for yourselves and for the guy who can't because some day the roles may be reversed. Never get pushed around but think things through instead of losing your temper. Live and let live, trying not to judge. Treat the ladies on CERB like the angels they are, many of us are better off for having met most of them (I know I am). Look for joy because life isn't worth living otherwise and try to leave the world a little bit better when you go to bed. Have a Safe and Happy New Year's CERB. See you in 2011.

Is your key, as MyKey, not-X-rated?
Lowdark replied to Loralee Reach's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
We are talking about kids, though. And teenagers are just overgrown kids. It doesn't matter how good a parent you are, kids are going to push things to learn for themselves. They may know they aren't suppossed to listen to Howard Stern or speed but they fail to porperly appreciate the conscequences. Like the man says in the movie, "he's a kid, he's suppossed to be stupid. What's your excuse?" Adults know it's dumb to text/drink/apply makeup etc. and drive, they are fully aware of the conscequences, but do it anyway. -

Wow. An automaker demonstrating something resembling responsibility. While I don't have the privilige of being a parent, I have often thought how I would cope with issues like the internet. Good to see a manufacturer offering parents a helping hand. Problem is some probably found a way around this before this article was even published. -
Still feeling A Bit Down...
Lowdark replied to drlove's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I think the biggest thing you may want to consider is the possibility that she may have returned to her previous boyfriend in the few months since you stopped seeing her. If she's as needy as you say, that may be a fair litmus test of her character and something that could have caused some nastiness down the road. You probably suspected as much when you came to the conclusion it would have ended anyway in a few months. Better luck in the New Year. -
Happy New Year and Best Wishes for 2011!!!

Nice selection of quotes. Happy New Year to you as well! -
There's no possible way I can take this seriously. Obvious gold digging cash grab. that being said, I saw a Biography on Hefner once where a female friend of his admitted she once told Hef that all those young women around him only wanted him for his money. his response was that he didn't care why they wanted him, just that hey did. C'est la vie.

Reconnect with your loved ones!
Lowdark replied to Loralee Reach's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
In the long run, bickering over small things or holding grudges for tivial trangressions is pointless. We are only here for brief periods and our lives are so fragile they can be snapped away at any moment. Will that grudge seem all that important the first Christmas without someone? Too many people seem to actively look for confrontation, scaraficing joy in the process. Live your lives and treat the time you have with family and friends like the treasure it truly is. -
