Cute animal videos on Youtube. You can go from saying awww one moment to spitting milk through your nose the next as a kitten does a summersault in mid air or a puppy chases a frightened black bear up a tree.

"Humans need the Planet, but the Planet doesn't need them." Every day should be Earth day. No Earth, no people. Unhappy Earth, no people. Seems to mean the choice is pretty clear about who we should be respecting. I'm not a member of Greenpeace or a follower of Al Gore, but logically we should be respecting the reason for our existence. You hear people speaking of the wrath of God and Raptures and so forth, but do any of us really have any interest in seeing a PO'ed Mother Earth?

On the religious front, I read an interesting comment on a sports board; would people be so tolerant of it if he was a Muslim who thanked Allah every time he succeeded? I for one don't mind the religous aspect even if I find it a bit absurd (if Green Bay wins the Superbowl, does that mean God's either a Packers fan or that Green Bay prayed harder prior to the game?), but his behavior could be far worse (Vick, Rothliesberger, ect.).

Ironic timing Julia. I saw an episaode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia the other day where two of the main characters deliberately got addicted to crack so they could recieve welfare lol.

I'm not really an NFL fan (or football for that matter), but I've been very interested in all the attention surrounding Tim Tebow. Apparently his unorthodox style and overt religous beliefs have really polarized sports fans. Either you love/admire him or you despise him. There seems to be no middle. I've heard it said that he lacks an NFL quaterback's skill set, yet he's winning games isn't he? And while I am far from a religous type, and would roll my eyes if I hear the quaterback thanking a Higher Power for completing a touchdown pass, isn't that better than some of the other things professional football players are getting caught doing lately (drugs, dog fights, sexual asault, e-mailing obscene pics to cheerleaders, etc.). I read a story on him earlier today on a sports site that prompted thousands of responses, many of them venomous. So I was wondering if anyone here could clarify the situation for me.

There must also be a conspiracy behind Jersey Shore. Honestly. I hope. If not . . . ummm . . . I just got depressed.

Perhaps a question that needs asking-why were the police not there within the 21 minutes she was on the phone? Traffic? They didn't think it was a priority? She was alone and someone was breaking into her home and the police failed to show? that failure alone may justify her action, despite the outcome.

Sarah Palin's an alien and Bob Barker is an android. How else to explain them?

Nice thread Alexandra. A few things I've picked up; Kindness and generostiy are their own rewards. Life is brief and fleeting-live it and enjoy it (but with dignity). Savour and protect your friends-they're the family you get to choose. Cover their back whenever you can and they'll do the same for you someday. Don't confuse tolerance and compassion with weakness. Sometimes you just have to kick a little posterior. A jerk will always be a jerk-you can't talk reason or sense into them so don't try. Everyone falls and sometimes you need a hand to get back up. When your time comes and you stumble, don't allow your pride to get in the way of others helping you.

If we were to split hairs, I think it could be argued that sex is a basic human right for no other reason than it's need for procreation. Without the free exercising of sex, no Human Race. But I don't think if the government were to recognize it as such, it would mean a new branch of goverment to offer it. Food and water are basic human neccessities, and the government does not provide those (ask the homeless or many souls who live on reserves). Sex should be considered a human right (and need) just as much as good health and happiness.

Well said. As long as it's between consenting adults and not hurting anyone else (emotionally and or physically) it should remain judgement free regardless who's involved, their gender or anythng else.

To MOD, the Administrators and Town Council, thank you. CERB has added so much to so many, ladies and gentlemen alike, in a safe, mature forum. I would not have had the opportunity to meet some incredible people without CERB, and whiile we may not always agree with some of the decisions or other opinions, I hope I speak for the sensible majority when I say that everyone here is better off becuase of this board. So a sincere thanks to everyone involved in its creation and continued maintenance.
