I'm so excited that I get to attend! I can hardly wait to meet everyone! I am lucky enough to get out to Ottawa once a year, and this time it turns out my dates of Feb 9-16 not only allow me to attend the social, it also means I'll be here for Valentine's Day!

Some of you may or may not be familiar with Big Al. He is a 25 yr old young man, afflicted with severe cerebral palsy. He emailed me a couple of years ago, and I've been to see him twice so far, with a spring or summer trip planned. Although is he wheel-chair bound and dependent upon others for all the necessities, he remains positive and upbeat. As he has said, there is not much joy in his life. His days are spent strictly indoors, and he does not even have 24 hour care, like he so desperately needs. Having an aide there 24 hours would greatly improve the quality of Al's life. He and his Mom recently came to Winnipeg to plead his case to the Health Board. We've been waiting with bated breath for their decision, and in the interim, Big Al got himself his first job! He works for a Web Design firm in their marketing department. Isn't it wonderful that technology has come so far that people like AL, in remote locations, and with little or no mobility, can use their intelligence and education from the comfort of their chairs, online? In any case, please offer your support and congratulations to our fellow cerbite, the incomparable...Big Al! Way to go my sweetest friend! :grin:

I resolve to finally start renovating the inside of my house. Sub-floors need replacing, bathroom needs gutting, kitchen requires a complete overhaul, I need new floors and I'd really like to build a dungeon in my basement. Realistically though, I'll be lucky to get a new toilet that flushes properly. lol

I have curves. A grabbable ass, and naturally large breasts. I probably look most similar to you Chubby/Curvy example Vero included in her post... HOWEVER! I am not chubby, and would be heartbroken if I were ever referred to in that way. Many of you don't like the term BBW. How 'bout the term 'chubby'? Not much better, is it? I would think that if a woman wears plus-size clothing exclusively, she's probably a big beautiful woman. I could be way off of course, but that's just my 2 cents.

I would say to the Mod, expect an influx of new members. I noticed a couple from CL have already joined us here and have posted. My prediction is that the postings in the Advertisement Section in each city (especially Winnipeg) will be non-stop.

It sucks that just anyone can make a baby or own a pet. I think those are rights that should be earned.

Recently, I adopted a little girl in West Bank, Gaza Jerusalem. It's something I've always wanted to do, and am so glad that I was finally able to start. Within my welcome package, I came across the coolest idea for Christmas gifts. You can actually buy a village a cow, or chickens, or a well or sheep or fruit trees and countless other necessary items that benefit a family or many. For my brother and sister's Christmas present this year, I bought a family in Ghana 2 piglets, on their behalf. We'll see how well that goes over. lol Great idea Mr. Green. I think teaching charity to the young people of today is an extremely important lesson. Good for you for your selflessness.

And let's also remember to keep our pets well-exercised, warm, loved and properly fed. I have to live across the street from 2 big dogs who are left outside, never walked or played with and who bark at every passerby not because they're mean, but because they're lonely and cold. I give them treats and attention whenever I go outside, but it still breaks my heart every single time. :(
